Figured some could use a move on from Hand....is offering committed kids this late in the process for 2014 a bad sign?

I have a bright idea. Let's have Beilein annex the football program since be clearly knows how to build a national title contender. /s Kind of.

Why do some of you think we're just going to steal this kid away from Mizzou?

Because "we're MICHIGAN"???

Mizzou is in the SEC and they were as high as #6 in the nation this year. They've still got a shot at a BCS bowl.

We're...michigan.

Covered SW Michigan high school football and covered a game that he was in.  Talked w/ the opposing coach afterwards as Berrien Springs lost (really had a bad season all around).  The opposing coach from Edwardsburg said they neutralized him pretty easily (not as easily as his teammate and MSU commit Nick Padla). He has the tendancy to want to make plays in the backfield.  They let him, and then ran through the whole he left.

One very impressive play I did see.  An Edwardsburg RB busted it for a 69 yard carry from his own 10.  He had a 15 yard advantage on Williams, and Williams caught him at the BS 20yd. line.  It was amazing watching him run and catch up that quickly.  Definitely has the intangibles, but is raw w/ technique.

starts recruiting and developing players when they are just old enough to put on the gear without falling over.  not saying i think this is admirable.  Entire TX towns turn out for HS football games.  We think it's part of the culture in Ann Arbor, it isn't. Fandom, yes, singleminded devotion to football like in the south, not so much.  There, it is the dominant religion.  Then these kids are considering their various sun belt college options.  they are going to come up north where it's cold and they have to show up for classes?

We did get Denard, thanks to RR,

and Gardner is from around here, and we are failing him.

Dear Winterblue, Although you may not get this message, because I'm invisible, I wanted to personally thank you myself. If it wasn't for your forward thinking, I wouldn't have known if the staff had a contingency plan unless someone posted a bleacher report article 30 minutes after my Facebook feed. It might not be a quality post like the Men's Basketball Minutes Projection Thread that was posted 5 minutes after Concordia, but without it I wouldn't have had a clue. Based on all the data I've gathered from the thread comments the past two months I have to give props to the the coaching staff for taking some time off from reading Coach Al's ginormous playbook, and actually sending some offers out. The staff never said a word about recruiting in any of their pressers, so I took it they just didn't want to bother with it. That's kind of weird though, why wouldn't they tell us? It's almost infuriating. They should probably fire someone over it. Hopefully one day we can talk about stats from 10 years ago and high five each other, while drinking different micro brews. Until that day comes, thank you for being different and keeping us pointed in the right direction. People like you are who I'd want at my birthday party. Posts like yours are rare, and are the reason I come here. Always, The Invisible Man
