Predictions for Mich/Ohio bball
Michigan comes back home tonight at primetime 9pm ESPN against Ohio. The atmopshere should be amazing tonight. I expect the Maize Rage packed and ready to go for this one. I expect Burke, THJ, and I think frosh will play alot better from the first matchup. In the Big Ten, this conference is tough enough that it is key to hold serve homecourt. I expect Michigan to be very hungry tonight and get a win.
Beat Ohio
Michigan 74
Ohio 65

Ohio is extremely overrated and if they can limit D Thomas, they shouldn't have a problem tonight.
Michigan 72 - Ohio 58.
Go Blue, Beat Ohio.

has played one bad game, at Illinois. They damn near blew us out of the building 3 weeks ago and have played head up against Duke and Kansas. Overrated? Those sound like some famous last words to me. Michigan needs to play well tonight or they will get beat.

I think the first 5-10 minutes are going to be crazy. This is the first big game our freshman have had at home, and I think they're going to be pumped. OSU will try to keep things slow, but I think our guys (especially the freshmen) will be in another gear. I expect that to lead to some quick points, but also some dumb mistakes. In the end, I don't think OSU will get out to a big lead like they did last time, and their offense (read: DeShaun Thomas) won't be able to keep up. Final score: 68-54.

perks of knowing cheerleaders, I guess

If we lose our chances of winning the conference drop very fast- if we win we stay in very good shape.
I think everything worked out perfectly for an OSU win last game away- I don't see that happening again. I expect a win by about 6-10 points- but the game never to be too much in doubt for the last ten minutes.

I predict Buckey tears.
Michigan - 79
*The University of Ohio State - 73
*Thank you, Dontre Wilson.

Craft makes me nervous; he's the one guy who can get Burke off his game. Burke needs to let the game come to him and facilitate the offense instead of making it a personal challege with Craft. Michigan wins 76-70.
February 5th, 2013 at 9:49 AM ^
Craft is a great player, but I predict he gets his ankles broken bad on one play. (If Iverson can get Jordan to dance, Burke can get Craft to slip up a bit too.)
February 5th, 2013 at 11:43 AM ^
just compare Aaron Craft to Michael Jordan?
February 5th, 2013 at 2:45 PM ^
inadvertently. I actually hope it's more like this:
Trey Burke - Craft
AI -> Tyran Lue (sixers lakers finals)

Gee will be sitting in his seat at Value City Arena wondering where everyone is.

No, he'll be tweeting this:
“Many excited Buckeyes in the Schott tonight—including me! Ready for the men’s basketball game against Michigan.”

Care to explain that joke to me?
I get the fact that Meat-Chicken sounds similar to Mee-Chigan, but is there more to it than that?

Sometime at the start of the second half, Tim Hardaway will be surrounded by shimmering golden flames as he screams in rage and proceeds to notch a double double

65-60 good guys
No, but seriously, 70-58 us

The typical line for this game gives Michigan 7.5 and Massey is going with an 83% win probability. Looking at the table, it is a game that Michigan can win and win by at least 4-5 possessions if they can can get back to the ruthlessly efficient offense that they are capable of fielding. Control Deshaun Thomas, get him to force shots, and you take away their most consistent threat on offense, I think. Not-so-bold prediction - Michigan takes this one at home in a 74-66-ish performance.
February 5th, 2013 at 9:57 AM ^
I could see us losing, but I don't think it will happen. I think the team will feed off of Crisler's energy tonight. OSU has a great team, (or a great one-man show in De'Shaun Thomas?) and Aaron Craft is the one man that seems to always have Trey Burke's number, so this game will be close. But, Michigan finds a way to get it done. I also predict that McGary will come up with another big night.
71-66 Blue

I predict a mudhole stomping. 74-55 good guys

Michigan's Points>Ohio's Points.
Dammit. I wish I didn't have class today and could get in line before 5

Nothing to it: delimit Deshaun, corral Craft. Michigan 70, Ohio 65

Definitely going to win and I think we may beat them by at least ten.

This is a must win game. 71 to 69 Michigan.
February 5th, 2013 at 10:45 AM ^
Every game is a must-win game with Indiana, MSU, Ohio State, and even Wisconsin in your conference.
If MSU/Indiana/Michigan/OSU lose one game, their title chances take a significant shot.
Michigan by 12.
Fun fact: In two seasons, we are 28-1 at home, the lone loss coming at the hand of Purdue on senior night last year (you know, the game that cost Michigan the outright conference title)

that charge against a freshman basketball player like some people did after Indiana. Especially after all GR3 has contributed without plays being run for him to date. But you take the bitter with the sweet in sports discussion land.
EDIT: This is a response to Spontaneous and his salutary "lazy" comment up above.

Michigan: A little more
OSU: A little less
I'm not expecting a blowout win but I do expect both teams to beheld to under their season averages for points since both teams play good defense. Should be a good matchup at the PG position. I expect Michigan to hold serve and I won't be disappointed with a season split!

Won't complain anymore if the players like it. It's a Maize out, fergodsakes!
Prediction: Lots of highlights for the men in yellow highlighter. Team with more players who have members of therir immediate family who have played in the NBA wins.
