They've got the 11th pick in the first round, and they want a defensive lineman. Nick Fairley and J.J. Watt are available. They decline to pick Fairley and instead pick Watt, who is a strong candidate for defensive rookie of the year (if the NFL has an award for that).

I don't get what point you're trying to make? First it was the 2011 Draft, not 2012 so Watt isn't a rookie. Second, were the Lions supposed to trade up and get Watt? In hindsight do you think they should have done so? Besides some boneheadedness in the off season, Fairley has been a pretty solid player, especially of late. Watt gets a lot of attention for knocking balls down and being on an elite defensive unit but an average line kept him mostly at bay. He's not an elite pass rusher coming off the edge and his pursuit needs work.

I must say, there are some excellent wide receivers in the TCU defensive backfield and Texas has thrown a couple great darts to them in the first half thus far...

The Jets are. A laughing stock.

The Jets are terrible. If you are a Jets fan, I am sorry. It must be tough. Keep fighting that good fight, but I doubt it gets better any time soon.

and take the B12 autobid. As long as we can get into the Top 14, we'll be more attractive than a poor-travelling KSU who is riding a two-game losing streak.

Why would we want Ok to win out. One loss drops them to 3 losses and their best win is Texas? One loss and their at large hopes are done. Very good chance they will lose another game as well. Vs Ok St. and @ TCU. left.

This makes me sick to be honest. Forsett was down and everyone saw that. If the Lions had hit him while he was down then everyone would be saying "same old dirty Lions." Damned if you do, damned if you don't. I know Schwartz screwed up but it wouldn't have happened if the refs would just do their jobs correctly.
