MGoPodcast 4.1: Baby Seal Us
Okay, so... Ace was in Dallas and so was Jamie and I'd forgotten that Jamie was going to be in an airport until we actually tried to call him. So we're at about 30 minutes this week.
Also, this is a terrible podcast. Do not listen to it. This happens to us after extremely terrible games. We wake up the next day wanting to do nothing, go into the studio, mumble at each other for a while, and then stop. Do not listen to this podcast.
Topics!
THAT SUCKED. Yup.
SONGS. The first one is a joke, please don't get mad. The second one is "Learn to Say No" by Lydia Loveless, off of Indestructible Machine.
BONUS. The "general podcast feed link" should now work. Let me know if it doesn't.
UPDATE: download link updated.

You were right. I should not have listened to that.

That "Learn to Say No" song was way too fitting.

Thank you for this. I enjoyed it, even if it was terrible.
Goddamnit.

Podcast > Al Borges's offensive game plan against Bama.
Does looking forward to a possible Bama UFR make me (1) a sick, sadistic bastard or (2) a disgusted fan who is looking to see what actually went wrong? I think (2) helps us move forward as fans, and I am hearing the first sounds of a decent analysis from Brian and Ace in this podcast and initial post-game blogposts. First admit Bama is a great team, then see where you sucked and how things could/should have been different. We had to play a great game, we had to coach a great game--and neither happened. Figuring out why things happened helps to see if massive ennui ought to evolve into desperation and anger over poor play and coaching, depression over impossible odds against top teams turning to hope for future Hoken recruiting, or a bit of both.

"What went wrong" was Alabama is a juggernaut filled with 5 stars coached their entire career by possibly the best coaching staff in the nation.

I did not learn anything whatsoever from this podcast. Terrible waste of 30 minutes.

If only there had been some sort of warning...
September 3rd, 2012 at 9:01 PM ^
haha, if only someone had said "don't listen to this podcast"

bitch about playing MAC cupcakes in the non-conference and want to play more marquee opponents, and then bitch when we get destroyed by Alabama?

I only speak for myself here, but Brian, for the love of God don't UFR this thing. You don't need to do that to yourself. We don't need to read it. Let's just agree that this was horrible and count the seconds until we get the (hopefully) palate cleanser.

I'm with this guy. If, for no other reason, that IF you write it, I will at least skim it, like every other MGoBlog piece, and will re-live the pain that was 9/1/12.
9/11 = Never Forget.
9/1 = Please, for the love of God, forget.

I AM ANGARRRRR!

The guy who hit Rawls was Vinnie Sunseri. The guy who flicked Roundtree away with one had was Dee Milliner.

While no doubt intended as a joke and without malice, using the crucifiction of Jesus Christ as the basis for humor is inappropriate. I doubt there will be a reference to the Holocaust or flip remarks about Islam in future podcasts. Perhaps you could work in material about the Dark Night Rises shootings.

I know. Jesus is rolling over in his grave right now.
September 4th, 2012 at 9:19 AM ^
Inappropriate to who? And are you saying that the crucification of Jesus Christ was as terrible a thing as the Holocaust? Interesting how you made these connections.

Too soon.

Asking Denard to throw to guys like Gallon, Dileo and Roundtree when they're being covered by those NFL-like DBs would be tough for anyone. At least in the NFL the receivers are 6'1-6'5 and freak athletes. Need guys like Darboh to develop, and quick.

love this podcast, that is directly how I felt after the game.
I did like how you brought up BWC, I was watching him most of the game and I was pleasantly surprised. Got some good push from time to time. Their OL is the best in the nation and looking at USC I think they should be the best overall in the nation so they dominated us in every aspect but I just think BWC I think will fair well from now on.
Also, no way Ohio is even in the same area as Alabama, Miami OH could have made a game of that.
Here is to a quick work week for everyone and a "Real Good Time" come this Saturday. I hope the boys are hungry to prove something against AF.

This is my first post, and I felt compelled to register and log on for this purpose. I have to say that I love the site. I've listened to many of the podcasts and enjoyed many of them as well.
However, this particular podcast was truly awful. Tough to say which was worse: this podcast or the Alabama game. Both failed to meet performance expectations in spectacular fashion. Normally there is at least some interesting analysis of what happened and why. Some news, an update, follow-up or something. However, this was like some sort of a Twilight Zone podcast.
I'm sure the next one will be better! (That goes both for the Air Force game and the next podcast)

running through the Michigan defense. Ugh. That game was awful, and that Tennessee team should have been in the NC game, if only they hadn't lost to LSU in the SEC championship game.
