OT: LSU to hold Noon CST press conference

Submitted by dayooper63 on

There is likely to be a significant announcement concerning the LSU football team at noon today.

I wonder what it could be.

per WWL radio/TV site:

link: Tyrann Mathieu kicked off the LSU Football team

LSU Head Coach Les Miles announced today, "We did what we can do, but Tyrann Mathieu is no longer on the team."
The ''Honey Badger'' defensive back was suspended last year for one game for reportedly using synthetic marijuana.  LSU never confirmed the specific reason for last year's suspension.

If he wanted to play D-1 football, then I believe so, but I think he can play right away if he went to the ol' Division II. He has two years of eligibility left, I think.

It's really a shame - the prevailing rumor on the Internet right now is that he failed multiple drug tests, at least according to a few sources.

I wonder who backs him up at CB? They've got Tharold Simon and three freshmen CBs, I think.

That's too bad - I have as much fun watching him as any player not named Denard Robinson.  It's also pretty crazy that the #1 team just lost its best player three weeks before the season starts.

A month ago, I saw a few heisman watch lists and remarked how he wasn't listed on any of them. Then Baligian said the same thing on his show. Maybe some people knew some things?

No way people knew about this before now. More likely he was missing from those lists because most of his good plays were just results of him being in the right place at the right time (huge number of fumble recoveries, etc), and he showed  mediocre coverage skills that were unlikely to improve much. Yeah I know I'm a hater, but that's the truth and likely why he was left out so much.

If people really think the honey badger just happened to be in the right place at the right time I feel bad for them. That guy MADE plays. No one just happens to make that many plays.
