That is a thing of beauty right there.
that arm punt was magic...I think denard needs to take some notes.
Like Braxton Miller, TMart's WR's have to be ridiculously wide-open for him to complete a pass. Unfortunetely, that actually happened a couple times against our DB's last year.
Some of Miller's receivers were ridiculously wide open and he still couldn't hit them. However, I think he's way better than Taylor Martinez.
Well apparently he's faster than Denard so he must really be a serious weapon.
I'm pretty sure he called 500 before that
*dead or alive.
I like how they coach QBs at Nebraska, from the look of it - back well-arched, checking for air traffic patterns, making sure that the Goodyear blimp can't knock down your pass...
Would he be one of the borderline students at the Joe Bauserman Institute?
Yikes, that throw makes about as much sense mechanically, as a monkey humping a doorknob.
A monkey humping a doorknob doesn't make any sen... oh. I see now.
Truly was a thing of beauty.
The narrarator sounds like the son from Breaking Bad.
After two seasons, the numbers put up by Martinez put him ahead of Eric Crouch, the school's all-time leader in rushing and total offense.
Just by matching his peformances to date, Martinez would leave Nebraska as the record holder for most passing yards, most passing touchdowns, most yards rushing by a quarterback, most total yards, and most total touchdowns.
Not too shabby.
Despite that, he still just threw paint at a canvas and called it art.
he'd already be #9 all-time for total career yards with 5,559. He'd rank 4th all-time for a single season (behind only Denard and John Navarre) with 2,963 yards and 9th with 2,596 yards.
After only two seasons with two more to go.
But that's a really misleading statistic, because it really only applies to dual-threat QBs (and Martinez was WAY behind Denard in that category). In terms of "total yards" Denard is by far the best UM QB ever - but that's because he's the only one who really ran on a regular basis, at least in a very long time. According to that statistic, a QB who passes for 260 yards a game and loses 10 yards in sacks (which is a pretty awesome season) is the same as a dual threat QB who throws for 190 and rushes for 60. Both end up at 250 per game, but the former is harder to do (and shows a lot more about the player's passing ability). The reason guys like Denard and TM get so many yards is that they account for more touches. Chad Henne and Tom Brady aren't ahead of Martinez because they had Mike Hart and Anthony Thomas getting all those rushing yards instead.
Anyway, the point of the post was that he's a poor passer, or really a bad thrower, which he is. He averaged 160 yards per game passing last year, which was better than the year before. He's a decent football player, but he's not a good QB.
Funny, but just letting everyone know that's trying to put down some kid, that Denard threw just like this plenty of times last year.
Denard threw off his back foot a few too many times last year, but Denard does NOT throw like a girl.
So much great spinoff potential from the thread title:
"Brian Linthicum and Max Bullough demonstrate the perfect bar etiquette"
"Tate Forcier demonstrates the perfect studying technique"
"Greg Robinson demonstrates the perfect tackle"
More like "Greg Robinson demonstrates the perfet hair"
and
"Craig James demonstrates how to allegedly KILL 5 HOOKERS"
Taylor Martinez makes Craig Krenzel look smooth.
