Bri'onte Dunn in home visit
http://michigan.247sports.com/Article/Dunn-breaks-bread-with-Michigan--52358
Not to go into great detail, because it's behind a pay wall. But, as we all know, Al Borges and Fred Jackson were in Bri'onte Dunn's home last night. Turns out the WHOLE family was there, including grandparents, and the plus side for Michigan, Dymonte was also there. This is a very good sign for Michigan.

This kid HAS to be under a tremendous amount of pressure right now. Especially now that Urban is the head coach and it looks like the NCAA will not bring the hammer. Everyone around him must be hounding him to go to OSU...
I think it will be a miracle if he makes it out of Columbus without committing there....I can just see Urban putting a pen in his hand and "helping" him sign his name like I do with my 3 year old.
I actually feel bad for the kid.
December 9th, 2011 at 1:13 PM ^
What makes you think the ncaa hammer will not drop?
December 9th, 2011 at 2:50 PM ^
Dunn has already been committed to Ohio for quite some time. Urb will be working on reinforcing the decision. Pen to paper doesn't happen until NSD in Feb, or early enrollment in a few weeks.

Brionte Dunn is heavily leaning towards Michigan. He is ours to lose right now. Meyer is going to try to convice Dunn he can fit in a spread offense and Dunn does not see it. We need to stay positive on our posts because he wants to come here and we really could use him in our backfield.
Want him to feel welcome here.
December 9th, 2011 at 1:46 PM ^
And where did you get this info?
December 9th, 2011 at 1:53 PM ^
Thanks for the advice but I haven't read one negative comment yet. Why would anyone say anything negative about a kid who hasn't made a decision yet?
December 9th, 2011 at 3:54 PM ^
are an ugly business on message boards. You'd be surprised. There was a thread a few days ago saying Meyer had made up ground with Brionte and there was definitely a fair amount of negativity.
Frankly, seems weird to try to pass judgment on an 18 year old kid trying to decide where to go to college.
No matter where he ends up, I think we should all have no hard feelings. He'll be doing what he thinks is best for him and his family; can't blame a kid for that.
Go Blue!

Hoke goes to Ohio to sell jerseys, not make recruiting visits.
December 9th, 2011 at 12:45 PM ^
Say Michigan does get Dunn. Al Borges is pretty consistant on using one featured back. so the question is.. does Michigan redshirt Dunn and Fitz starts or do they share time or does Dunn take over the starting spot? it is a little far to look down the road but its worth considering.
December 9th, 2011 at 12:47 PM ^
But Dunn would get some carries as a freshman, he would play right away. Need three good running backs in the Big Ten.
December 9th, 2011 at 12:47 PM ^
I wish coach Hoke would have been there. He's our closer.

December 9th, 2011 at 1:48 PM ^
He still is "committed" to Ohio, has been for a while
December 9th, 2011 at 3:44 PM ^
December 9th, 2011 at 2:36 PM ^
He doesnt have to commit this weekend, he is already committed there.
December 9th, 2011 at 1:36 PM ^
because the coaches seem to want him badly. Personally, I'm more concerned with keeping his cousin. Now that kid is a BEAST!! Even if we did get Brionte, IMO the only way he can supplant Fitz is due to injury. If Fitz stays healthy and if he can improve even a little for the next two years, I think he can become an early round draft pick in the NFL. We havn't said that about a Michigan back in 8 years.
December 9th, 2011 at 1:42 PM ^
Good luck keeping him off the field.
He is a manchild who is planning on starting next fall. This will motivate fitz to work even harder this off season. Imho. The rb position is looking great for the future. Urb can have all the spread guy's he wants.
Go Blue!

I love how people with absolutely zero reliable information -- in other words, 99.9 percent of the posters here -- routinely report which way the wind is blowing with Dunn. The kid talks to Meyer, he's a lost cause; he talks to Hoke, he's ours.
Unless you know something, you don't know anything.
December 9th, 2011 at 11:53 PM ^
Yeah That.
December 9th, 2011 at 2:06 PM ^
I find it interesting that Michigan does not consider someone committed if he takes a visit to another school.
Meanwhile Ohio still considers Dunn a commit (albeit soft) after visiting its arch rival Michigan on two straight weekends, including The Game. He was literally on our side with our recruits for the game versus Ohio, the school he is supposedly committed to.
In the end, maybe this aids Ohio and he stays. I've go to wonder though how this sits with the current Ohio players and staff.
Michigan clearly would not allow this and its got to speak volumes.
I think Hoke has it right, even if it means we lose out on some top talent.
Those who stay will be champions

I live in Canton and one of Dunn's High School coaches is my neighbor. He says Dunn is extremely tight-lipped about all of this and that he has "no idea" where the kid will end up. That's pretty close to the source, so anyone claiming they know something may be setting off the mgoBSalarm.

I was listening to WTKA online just now, and a middle-aged female caller with what sounded like an Eastern European or Italian accent (might have been the first ever to call into a sports radio program) pointed out that Brionte Dunn's mother cooked baked ziti from scratch for the coaches' visit. She said that because the preparation process for baked ziti is very involved and lengthy, this should be interpreted as a good sign for us.
I was very amused and fascinated by this call.

Linda from grand blanc. She loves all things UM
December 9th, 2011 at 2:58 PM ^
This may sound bad, but I change the channel when she calls because its tough to listen to her. The same goes with Brian from Pinckney, I find it weird he calls everyday at the same time.
December 9th, 2011 at 3:04 PM ^
I don't often listen to WTKA (I don't live in Michigan), so I wasn't aware that she's a regular caller. Still though, it's kind of cool that she hails from a segment that is extremely unlikely to follow college football so closely, let alone call in to a sports talk radio show.
December 9th, 2011 at 3:45 PM ^
That is none other than "Linda from Grand Blanc", she is a trip and has been calling AA and Detroit radio for years. She loved Isaiah Thomas and Steve Yzerman back in the day. I think we have a "Linda from Grand Blanc" member on MGO, but I doubt the authenticity
EDIT: yes we do have a linda-grand-blanc user. Good Stuff

Does he sound perpetually drunk?
December 9th, 2011 at 2:27 PM ^
I have to wonder how many stars Grandma Dunn has.
December 9th, 2011 at 3:15 PM ^
That Dunn reconfirmed his commitment to Ohio.
Too bad, but it seems that his heart has been with Ohio for some time. If he did not commit to UM after visiting during both the Nebraska and Ohio games, then what would it take for his commitment?
December 9th, 2011 at 3:45 PM ^
Where was this?
December 9th, 2011 at 3:49 PM ^
I was thinking the same thing, I never heard that. I do think that when all is said and done, Dunn will go Blue.
December 9th, 2011 at 3:51 PM ^
Hasn't shown up on twitter yet and you posted this 35 minutes ago.
Sam Webb is usually quick with these things.
December 9th, 2011 at 3:17 PM ^
This is going back and forth.
December 9th, 2011 at 3:35 PM ^
Trust me this one is a long way from over. And he is set on Michigan right now. He does not want to play in the spread offense. And this is very reliable information mackbru. He will go to Michigan.
December 9th, 2011 at 4:01 PM ^
...buckle up (in two weeks)?
December 9th, 2011 at 5:17 PM ^
You know Dunn is BLUE....... Freddy J has his sights set on him so its over!!
December 11th, 2011 at 4:37 PM ^
Freddy J is like the Brady Hoke of recruiting, except faster and with less hyperbole.
December 9th, 2011 at 6:21 PM ^
Dunn doesn't want to deal with the backlash. He may announce as he enrolls. Can't blame the kid. They are going to hound the hell out of him until he actually leaves Ohio.
