I would have guessed it would be -6 or so. I would be surprised if it stays at that.

I was pretty surprised too. ACC has been pretty weak this season. I was thinking 4-4.5 initially.
It is the "Early" line, so ... we'll see what kind of movement we get. Usually the first couple hours get a lot of push in one diretion or the other.

Dont worry, UM will lose regardless of the lines.

I have a friend going home to British Columbia for the holidays. I'm sending her back with some money on Michigan to cover, especially at 1.5. That line seems way too low.

Creative, too. Hopefully she wins some money. Then everybody will be happy!

I mean I'm giving her money in a "if Michigan covers you better be paying out or megangoblue is busting your kneecaps" kind of way, but that would be a nice thing to do the way you suggested.

Presumably MGB has some mad skillz with a softball bat, so your threat is not to be taken lightly.

So, you are just using this woman as your gambling "mule"?
I like it.

With all the Michigan betting pull, that they think VT should be favored.
December 4th, 2011 at 10:24 PM ^
Yeah, I don't think that's right. Pretty sure the Wynn and other books opened Tech -2.5 or -3.

Each place is going to open at different places, but I'm surprised to find a 4.5 point spread between two books. Curious where it'll settle
"The Wynn also posted opening pointspreads on each of the four other BCS bowls, with the Sugar Bowl matchup between Michigan and Virginia Tech garnering the most early buzz. The Hokies opened as 3-point favorites over the Wolverines, but Michigan was the early favorite offshore. The Wolverines were favored by 1.5 at BetCris.com."

I have seen Virginia Tech favored by a point, I figured UM would have been almost a touchdown favorite.

I would have expected Michigan to be a pretty big favorite. VaTech has played very bad against good competition.
December 4th, 2011 at 11:45 PM ^
Hey! Hard fought 14-10 wins over Duke don't come easy, ya know...
Try telling what you're saying to Tech students. It's like talking to women who don't care 90% of the time unless the team does good.

I've seen too many bowl games with M as the favorite end in a loss.

Looking at the videos that DG posted on Twitter, I feel good about our chances. I'd definitely cap us as a few point favorite. Minimum. That's not even factoring that we played a harder schedule in a harder conference.

I am visiting Las Vegas next weekend. I will find the best point-spread I can, but I will bet heavily on Michigan if I find Michigan at -3 or less against VT. If I find VT the favorite, I will bet the damn farm!!!

Mgoblog sucks balls, lol

Apparently, Vegas is not sold on the idea of a Michigan win in this one. This seems way too low. I feel less irritation at the -3 coming from Wynn (I think that's where I saw that), but still...low

I think it's going to be a mix between Nebraska and Ohio.
31-20: Michigan.

I thought that we'd open as a 4 or 5 point favorite.
