are you a big tom gholston fan as well?
November 24th, 2011 at 3:13 PM ^
Yeah...in no way was that football, and he deserved to be ejected (and fined)
November 24th, 2011 at 3:26 PM ^
Excuse Me Phil but I wasn't condoning the actions of Suh. I'll agree it was a tasteless move. It was dirty. HOWEVER football is a tough game, sometimes emotions get out of control. He's still the best defensive tackle in the league. He's still a member of my Detroit Lions, I love the guy.
November 24th, 2011 at 3:37 PM ^
so then gholston's actions were also excusable because he "got caught up in the moment".
Sorry, there are thousands of men who play this game for a living and they all seem to be able to control themselves.
November 24th, 2011 at 4:14 PM ^
Hopefully both players learn from their respective incidents.
November 24th, 2011 at 3:12 PM ^
This is a game the lions could've won. It should've been a lot better than 0-7 at halftime and then 3 INT's leading to 17 pts and a lot of dumb penalties (not all are the refs fault). Seems like a really talented but really immature team
November 24th, 2011 at 3:16 PM ^
Good thing he got ejected. After acting like that and costing the team points, i would have been upset if he wasnt benched the rest of the game anyway. Time to grow up Suh. This is National TV. You just claimed that reputation you were trying to avoid.
November 24th, 2011 at 3:24 PM ^
Suh is a dirtbag. Said it before and I'll say it again. He's good for 30 penalty yards a game.
November 24th, 2011 at 3:32 PM ^
I love suh. Next time he should rip that packer's head off and showed it to him. Go big or go home.
November 24th, 2011 at 3:36 PM ^
We trade his ass in the off season perhaps get a better offensive line and secondary help. This team will not make the playoffs and if by some act if god they do Suh will probably stab someone because the had the nerve to try to Bloch him!
November 24th, 2011 at 3:52 PM ^
You sir, are an idiot.
November 24th, 2011 at 8:07 PM ^
Is this so idiotic obviously the stabbing part was my attempt at being sarcastic. Do we seriously want this guy representing the team we love. We talk about Michigan doing things the right way and being classy why don't we have the same expectations for the Lions.
November 24th, 2011 at 4:09 PM ^
Yes, that makes a ton of sense. Suh will go all last boy scout on him becaused somebody tried to BLOCK him
November 24th, 2011 at 3:37 PM ^
Suh plays violent in a violent league, guys are afraid so the league has to take him out of the game, I guarantee the Packer guy who got thrown out won't be punished
November 24th, 2011 at 4:01 PM ^
The whole "Suh is dirty" thing is completely media driven. I cannot defend his actions today however. He costed the team 7 points all by himself, he's going to hurt this team in the long run if he does that again.
As long as he's on the team, I will still support him.
Stonum has has multiple DUI's, and is still on the team. I fully support him as well. Honestly, what's worse? A DUI, or a footstomp? People are letting their emotions get the best of them right now.
November 24th, 2011 at 4:12 PM ^
HE COSTED US FOR THE LAST TIME!!!
November 24th, 2011 at 4:40 PM ^
Also, probably not.
November 24th, 2011 at 7:20 PM ^
How hard is it to not be an idiot?
November 24th, 2011 at 4:16 PM ^
It's Suh's stupid onfield temper that continually costs the Lions.
Stonum has offfield issues that hurt him and by-product hurt the team onfield.
November 24th, 2011 at 4:09 PM ^
What is this "emotions" BS? Gholston was probably fuming when he puched Lewan in the face. I bet half the excuse makers in here were incensed when that happened.
November 24th, 2011 at 4:13 PM ^
Suh and Stafford who together make somewhere near $100 million both cost the lions the game...that sucks
November 24th, 2011 at 4:23 PM ^
but his eyes. He is having issues reading defenses. His decision making is atrocious.

He had the same issues at Georgia. I did not like the pick then and his decision making was a big reason why. I an starting to believe he is just another Hipple-Harrington. He has the look of a bust.
November 24th, 2011 at 4:17 PM ^
I must confess to being embarrassed by Suh's actions today. That was beyond the pale of acceptable play. He deserves to be suspended.

That said, I still am a fan of his. He just needs to rein his rage.
November 24th, 2011 at 4:24 PM ^
your back Suh...Fuck it..
November 24th, 2011 at 4:34 PM ^
That was too stupid to even respond to. Suh is a beast and could very well be everything we want in the long-term, but not only was he dirty, but selfish and done it on freakin' national TV when it's the only game to watch. You want to know how to get a reputation and be on the wrong end of calls. . .you just saw it.
November 24th, 2011 at 5:46 PM ^
Will be learned when he gets suspended for a game or two. Making way too much money to play that stupid. Personable "yes". Stupid, a bigger "yes".
November 24th, 2011 at 4:54 PM ^
The video is even wrose....
November 24th, 2011 at 5:22 PM ^
But who knows? Maybe the guy had it coming?
Schwartz definitely has his work cut out reigning in Suh, though. He's too good to discard at this point; still young with a lot of maturation and refinement yet ahead of him. But there is no way anyone can rationalize away the liability that this kind of behavior represents.

Think he'll live?
November 24th, 2011 at 8:07 PM ^
Mr Suh or your own lyin' eyes?
Ndamakong didn't help himself after the game by denying what everyone saw clearly on national TV.
November 24th, 2011 at 4:57 PM ^
He's a dirtbag liar that tries to use his off the field chior boy persona to deflect his inexcusable on the field antics.
November 24th, 2011 at 5:03 PM ^
Were bringing back the days of the Detroit Bad Boys. We drafted what is questionably the dirtiest DL in the draft last year to play next to Suh in the future. The steelers have plenty of dirty players on defense and they win championship.
November 24th, 2011 at 5:55 PM ^
The Steelers don't stomp on helpless players' biceps, there is a major difference between tough and just low-class, dirty football
November 24th, 2011 at 8:12 PM ^
Yeah Harrison and Polomalu headhunting is clean, hard, tough football
November 24th, 2011 at 8:31 PM ^
At least Harrison could sort of pass it off as an in-game football act, Suh's is just straight up post-whistle thug physical assault. Not a Steelers fan, but the Lions are taking this thing to a new low
November 24th, 2011 at 5:18 PM ^
This thread is full of hyperbole and juvenile character assassinations, yet it is only dissent or sarcasm that gets labeled "Flamebait"
I lol'd
November 24th, 2011 at 6:02 PM ^
Would you expect anything less from this board?
November 24th, 2011 at 6:39 PM ^
I had to up-vote you for that. I never hear that word anymore, sadly.
November 24th, 2011 at 5:56 PM ^
OK he deserves criticism but this is already getting ridiculous. Pretty clear the media has already decided they are going to ride this train until the wheels fall off. Esiason and Sharpe were total sanctimonious twats just a minute ago in talking about it.
PTI was a great show but it ruined sports coverage in many ways, starting this trend of daily hyper-analysis for every minute detail and putting pundits on a high-horse to feign shock at all these "deplorable" actions they see.
November 24th, 2011 at 9:35 PM ^
I heard Bill Cowher say something along the lines of how important it is for Schwartz to get his players under control.
I lol'd
November 24th, 2011 at 7:28 PM ^
Suh deserves to be kicked out of the league for that headshot. I've seen enough of his antics for one lifetime -- never seen as dirty a player as this fool.
November 24th, 2011 at 7:40 PM ^
A lot of stuff goes that we never see. It is a dirty game played by dirty players. Dick Butkus was far dirtier than Suh is but you never hear of his antics nowdays. Ray Lewis is every bit as vicious.
What Suh was wrong, but it still is nowhere near as bad as a deliberate helmet-to-helmet, which we see far too much of.
November 24th, 2011 at 7:57 PM ^
You're an idiot
November 24th, 2011 at 8:47 PM ^
Of course, I must be an idiot. I didn't see this fool ram a player's head into the ground three times after the whistle and then stomp on him before getting ejected and denying that any of what I just saw actually happened.
November 25th, 2011 at 8:29 AM ^
There was no headshot, moron. Suggesting someone should be kicked out of the league for that is laughable considering Vick, Burress, etc. all continue to play. You're an idiot probably due to genetics and upbringing, can't call it, but there is no denying your stupidity. Or Suh's, btw; wasn't defending him so much as laughing at you. I'm sure you get that a lot Shortbus.
November 24th, 2011 at 7:32 PM ^
carries the rest of his team with him. Be a while before Detroit shakes this, which is sad, when they were on the way up. This will dominate the storyline for some time to come. They may have to trade him.
November 24th, 2011 at 7:40 PM ^
and win a playoff game all this talk will be drowned out by praise. Suh, however, will not be so lucky. He is going to have to not just adjust his game, but make a serious PR push to rehabilitate his reputation. Suh is no dummy so he has to realize that this incident is going to cost him money in other ways besides suspensions and fines.
November 24th, 2011 at 7:49 PM ^
They just took themselves out of playoff contention by losing this game.
