Honestly unc wins by 20
November 11th, 2011 at 7:04 PM ^
The setting looks cool! I hope Air Force brings a solid section or two of people in uniform to cheer when they visit Michigan in 2012.
November 12th, 2011 at 6:20 AM ^
be nice to see. Not sure how it works for away games. I'm still trying to decide who I'll be cheering for. I guess since I've never attended the AFA, and have been a lifelong M fan, I'll go with the latter. Decisions, decisions...

National anthem was brutal. Looks amazing though.

November 11th, 2011 at 7:21 PM ^
Documentary / eye candy video ahoy!
November 11th, 2011 at 7:38 PM ^
it's like 40 minutes in and the game hasn't started
November 11th, 2011 at 7:45 PM ^
Magic Johnson said this is a bucket list moment for him. Found that a little awkward.
November 11th, 2011 at 7:53 PM ^
He looks like a parade float.
Austin Thornton just had one blocked into the Harbour. Love it!
November 11th, 2011 at 7:51 PM ^
Pick was UNC by 10.5 yesterday, it dropped to 8.5 today. I'm not quite sure why; regardless, I have UNC to cover.
November 11th, 2011 at 7:56 PM ^
OK, can somebody mention it, I mean I know it's Veterans Day and all, but those uniforms....damn.
November 11th, 2011 at 8:11 PM ^
I hope Branden Dawson is okay with that knee injury.... kid looks like a beast on the boards... hate to see any players go down with injuries....
November 11th, 2011 at 8:14 PM ^
Hate to see kids get injured, regardless of who they play for.
November 11th, 2011 at 8:14 PM ^
No doubt. The kid looks like he'll be causing some fits for the next few years. It'd be a shame if he were lost due to an injury from slipping on a court sticker.
November 11th, 2011 at 8:19 PM ^
Got injured slipping on a Dan Gilbert supplied Fat Head sticker in the middle of the court That would be tragically ironic.
NC has settled down now and they are showing that MSU does not belong on the same boat as them.

November 11th, 2011 at 8:31 PM ^
Complete with a display of "Who the hell has the ball anyway?" at the end of the half there...
November 11th, 2011 at 8:45 PM ^
I'm stuck in an airport in Nashville...delay, delay, delay...CNN or whatever is dominating the TV's...

Score? How are the teams looking? hears about this Dawson guy. Was he any good? I know nothing about him. Sry about the injury tho, terrible way to be on the bench.
November 11th, 2011 at 8:48 PM ^
Halftime now.....James Worthy attempting 3-pointers. Tyler Hansbrough showing him up.
November 11th, 2011 at 8:51 PM ^
It is still half time with UNC up 36-25. Dawson has returned to the court and played some after going off.
November 11th, 2011 at 8:55 PM ^
It looked bad initially. I was glad to see he was able to come back - wouldn't wish a knee injury on anyone, especially now that my 69 year-old father will be having his knee replaced in January (he's a former DE and had surgery on the other one in the 80s).
November 11th, 2011 at 9:15 PM ^
So this is a game being played on Veteran's Day to honor those who fight for us on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier that has been used in countless situations to protect our country.
And that is your fucking thread title?
Really? Despite the context, you can't get over your contradictory, plebeian hatred long enough to look past the fact that it just so happens to be your rival playing in the game against the #1 team in the country?
November 11th, 2011 at 9:25 PM ^
It's a bball game and they are our rivals in bball get over it. So on Veterans Day we should root for MSU?
November 11th, 2011 at 9:38 PM ^
Can you tell me who advocated rooting for MSU? Or who even used the term "root" besides you? I know I didn't - was there someone else you meant to reply to?
Do you understand the words I typed (the issue I raised)? Unless you meant to reply to someone else and made a mistake, I'm left with the impression that you cannot comprehend what you read.
November 11th, 2011 at 10:00 PM ^
I'm not changing it and you can like the USA and still not like a college. If MSU or OSU played a game on Christmas I would still want them to get smashed. I'm not a dick who wants our rivals' players to get injured, hates the USA, and hates the armed forces etc.
November 11th, 2011 at 9:55 PM ^
FWIW, I had the same reaction regarding the thread title.
November 11th, 2011 at 9:17 PM ^
I swear, every thread gets down voted by someone for no specific reason. Some people just decide to down vote for the hell of it.
What would be the reason to down vote this thread other than to be a dick?
November 11th, 2011 at 9:47 PM ^
Maybe the title could be it? Perhaps it was an accident, but that's an awful title considering it's VETERANS day. Maybe it's just me.
November 11th, 2011 at 9:53 PM ^
Nope - not just you.
Dear OP - read this gentleman's post. I'd be interested to know whether or not you understand it. Is he advocating rooting for MSU here?
Did you happen to see what names were on the backs of the jerseys tonight?
November 11th, 2011 at 10:46 PM ^
Good lord. Grow some thicker skin.
November 11th, 2011 at 9:23 PM ^
Does anyone happen to know why there are two three point lines on the court for this game?
November 12th, 2011 at 1:09 AM ^
The court was assembled there. It was probably an existing court that does need both lines.
November 11th, 2011 at 9:29 PM ^
I think they had a few High School games earlier or last night. (EDIT: I cant find it but I thought I rememberd reading something about it, so no proof.)
November 11th, 2011 at 10:12 PM ^
Is playing the closing song. And the lead singer looks like Will Ferrell as George W. Bush. Mission Accomplished, America.
November 12th, 2011 at 2:01 AM ^
That would suck to be trapped on a warship when Five For Fighting is playing.
November 11th, 2011 at 10:15 PM ^
Sorry for being off topic but does anyone know of a decent place to watch the game tomrrow in Lansing or EL?
November 11th, 2011 at 10:57 PM ^
Trippers in Frandor, Nuthouse at Cedar and Michigan, Buffalo Wild Wings in East Lansing. Reno's East or Reno's West.
Grab a burrito at the El Oasis Taco Truck on Michigan Ave. on the east side of Lansing. Muy bueno.
November 12th, 2011 at 5:49 AM ^
is a good spot..I go there all the time...
November 11th, 2011 at 10:16 PM ^
Actually impressed with MSU's play. North Carolina is a legitimate title contender, and to keep it fairly close is comendable for Sparty. I thought that the bigs for MSU played very well, but they'll need to have better guard play if they want to make any runs come tourney time. MSU really only played 5 bad minutes at the end of the first half....otherwise this was a close game. Go B1G 10!
November 11th, 2011 at 10:41 PM ^
lolwut
November 12th, 2011 at 1:25 AM ^
I think MSU did play a lot closer than most people assumed they would. However, this probably had more to do with the early season "sloppy" play, the insane setting, and perhaps some improvement from an underacheiving MSU team from last season.
I still don't see MSU as anything close to a Big Ten contender this season, but they're probably not going to roll over and die for a ton of teams either, at least not early in the season
