McGary - Cryptically bad news?

Submitted by ypsituckyboy on

@BSnowScout: Just when everything was looking set with Mitch McGary, now there has been a change..

I have no idea what this means. Doesn't seem to be good, though, given the fact that UM was considered to be the unspoken leader.

He has been saying McGary is Michigan all week. I told him McGary has 'changed plans' or whatever we want to call it. He said Roy did an in home visit yesterday to McGary's house, and now this news has come out. I don't think it's good news by any means, but I now consider UNC a major player in the McGary sweepstakes.

WOTS is that he is going to take an official to Florida. Not sure if that really signals a major change in his thinking because he said all along he was going to visit Florida, Maryland and Kentucky. For that matter, he also said he was going to visit Duke, North Carolina and Michigan again before making his decision and those plans seem to have fallen by the wayside. He also recently cancelled a planned visit to Kentucky, though that doesn't mean he can't reschedule that visit for another time. And just because he has decided to visit Florida (or anywhere else) does not mean that Michigan is not his leader. It simply means he wants to take more visits.

I may have to cancel my trip to the Halloween weekend at Cedar Point this year. After this roller coaster of a recruitment, I don't think my heart can take the Dragster.

After reading the paywall, this doesnt sound good for us. Sounds like his parents really dont want him to go to M for whatever reason. That said hopefuly he can make the decision on his own.

If it's true that he was gonna commit to us next week, we're fine folks.  Let the kid take more visits to eliminate any doubts that he wants to be a wolverine.  He'll be blue in the end, I'm still confident.

He'll be on campus for less than twelve months. Virtually everybody connected to his recruiting concedes he's a one-and-done guy, which means he'll arrive in August 2012 and leave at the end of March 2013. People are overestimating the impact he's going to have in one single season as a pure freshman.
