McGary - Cryptically bad news?
@BSnowScout: Just when everything was looking set with Mitch McGary, now there has been a change..
I have no idea what this means. Doesn't seem to be good, though, given the fact that UM was considered to be the unspoken leader.

Are you 100% sure it was going to be Michigan, or was it just a guess?

from Michigan sources, to national guys, to Duke and UNC insiders, said Michigan was the overwhelming favorite.

Fair enough.

But i will always HATE Duke and UNC with a passion.

He has been saying McGary is Michigan all week. I told him McGary has 'changed plans' or whatever we want to call it. He said Roy did an in home visit yesterday to McGary's house, and now this news has come out. I don't think it's good news by any means, but I now consider UNC a major player in the McGary sweepstakes.

WOTS is that he is going to take an official to Florida. Not sure if that really signals a major change in his thinking because he said all along he was going to visit Florida, Maryland and Kentucky. For that matter, he also said he was going to visit Duke, North Carolina and Michigan again before making his decision and those plans seem to have fallen by the wayside. He also recently cancelled a planned visit to Kentucky, though that doesn't mean he can't reschedule that visit for another time. And just because he has decided to visit Florida (or anywhere else) does not mean that Michigan is not his leader. It simply means he wants to take more visits.

After reading the paywall, this doesnt sound good for us. Sounds like his parents really dont want him to go to M for whatever reason. That said hopefuly he can make the decision on his own.

EDITED because I posted my comment on the wrong thread. In regards to this thread, 17 year olds make my head spin.

If it's true that he was gonna commit to us next week, we're fine folks. Let the kid take more visits to eliminate any doubts that he wants to be a wolverine. He'll be blue in the end, I'm still confident.

We're the Coolest! Trust me! I know! I've been to a party before! I think I laughed pretty hard at some pretty decent jokes. All in or what?! !

I mean, kinda, but it means we got Banner. And to be honest, football > basketball.

You aren't really serious about this, are you? Banner is a center, is generally ranked as a three-star in basketball, and will be playing basketball only part-time in college. Why would a five-star power forward be worried about losing playing time to him?

isn't worried about losing playing time to anyone

He'll be on campus for less than twelve months. Virtually everybody connected to his recruiting concedes he's a one-and-done guy, which means he'll arrive in August 2012 and leave at the end of March 2013. People are overestimating the impact he's going to have in one single season as a pure freshman.
