While it is quite the long walk, the two games I've attended I parked (sorry dont recall street names) in a parking garage a mile or so away near all the restaurants and shops that are near campus and paid by the hour. $2/hr for 5 hours. Take your pick of tailigaters with whom to join in festivities

Ok, now I am starting to panic a little. I have 2 options in mind and I have to hope and pray they are not full by the time I get down there.

I highly doubt they made these closures to control drinking. If you're not in Ann Arbor, you may not know that we've had about 4 inches of rain over the last few days with more on the way. The ground is completely saturated with water. I'm not surprised at all about the closures.

Get there early it is going to fill up quickly!

on one of the streets just west of Pioneer for our tailgating - right next to a park too. Best part is these spots are free. But, absolutely people should get here earlier because of the golf course and Pioneer closures.

Just avoid streets that have "Residential Permit Exempt" signs. Find a space where you can otherwise.

People are so afraid of walking. It never ceases to amaze me.
September 10th, 2011 at 8:39 AM ^
I don't think it's the walking... I think it's the not having a place to set up your own tailgate that people are upset about.

Ah, you're probably right there. Still ... society is fat.

Amen to that

It's a lot different walking back to your car at midnight instead of 3:30-6:30 in the day.

Wheres a good place to go tailgate? Help me out, I was planning on walking around the golf course. Now I have no clue where to go. Do they regulate drinking at Pioneer?

Guarantees a spot. I just used it. Problem solved.

these closures alone basically make that website's business plan viable.

Are you already in course?

I'm waking at 8am Sunday morn in Korea and will be tailgating with cereal and milk. Everyone is welcome. I'd trade places with the worst tailgate spot in AA in an Asian second

If I purchased a permit a while ago, am I still good?
September 10th, 2011 at 11:06 AM ^
Where is your spot?
I got a permit for AAGO and they will still let you on if you have that.

Pioneer grass is open, as I am currently tailgating on it, so at least that portion of the annoucement is not accurate. It looks like a band of showers is coming though, so I am not sure how long they will keep it open.

Anybody know what time Pioneer is opening up? Is it still noon?
September 10th, 2011 at 10:48 AM ^
We parked our rv at the tennis center last night after pioneer filled up. They seem to be letting people in here despite the "noon" opening time. Go blue!
September 10th, 2011 at 11:29 AM ^
Pioneer was filling fast at 10:30. Thank goodness we decided to arrive early and try and get a spot because it was almost full. Get here now if you want to give it a shot but it's probably already full. It's a mud mess

its 1 oclock and for those still on their way here do not try to park @ Pioneer its pointless and full by the looks of it. We ended up pulling off a @ a random bank and parking there.
