Evening Games Open Thread
Got back from the, kinda wet, but kinda awesome. Ready for some more FOOTBALL, assuming we all keep power tonight. LSU/Oregon the big one, but there are other games of note for sure (any final word on what the hell they're doing in South Bend?). So, get something to eat, dry off, and let's welcome a good start to college football.

Thanks for getting this rolling. ND just missed a FG, still down 16-7
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:01 PM ^
ND is playing on NBC right now. Kelly is maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad.
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:02 PM ^
Brent and Kirk need new wardrobe people. Just saying
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:02 PM ^
Georgia uni's. Wow. They are pure arena football. They have "Georgia" where a dude's last name is supposed to be on the back of the jersey.
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:07 PM ^
No need for them to get fancy.
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:32 PM ^
I think the helmet stripe has glitter on it.
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:47 PM ^
worst helmets ever
September 3rd, 2011 at 9:08 PM ^
Yea, FUGLY doesn't begin to describe how bad Georgia's uni's are...
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:07 PM ^
One nicknamed Sunshine, one played in epic downpour.
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:09 PM ^
Maybe, but this guy ^^^^ wouldn't have got rocked by Kovacs like Carder.
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:04 PM ^
Well, I was going to be on the field for the EMU game but it looks like that isn't going to happen now.
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:05 PM ^
I saw a shot of Charlie Weiss on the sideline. He is sweating like a whore in church.
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:08 PM ^
Does the ND now count as an evening game?
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:08 PM ^
USF is driving. 2nd and goal
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:09 PM ^
USF shooting themselves in the foot...oops..... evidently not
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:14 PM ^
TD USF!!!!
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:15 PM ^
Defensive PI leading to touchdowns.
Multiple turnovers in the redzone.
Damn I want to be in the locker room to hear what Brian Kelly has to say to his team.
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:15 PM ^
ND stinks on defense
Let's see if they continue their poor penalties and gaffes next week
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:16 PM ^
The Chik-fil-a Bowl looks like Phil Knight just vomitted all over the field... I don't care what anyone says, I'm glad we're at Adidas now.
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:17 PM ^
I like the matte black helmets, but everything else looks tacky.
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:59 PM ^
Unfortunately, the ones they decided to wear look like something Liberace would wear.
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:19 PM ^
What happened to Dayne Crist?
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:30 PM ^
Zero first half points, I think.
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:32 PM ^
Brian Kelly is channeling Steve Spurrier.
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:30 PM ^
Brian Kelly does not look like a good person to play for. God forbid you make a mistake.
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:37 PM ^
I said it a couple times in the Liveblog, but I don't think it made it through. Brian Kelly is going to slug someone on the sideline. It's just a matter of time.
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:33 PM ^
Hoping USF holds on - have a feeling this is going to the wire
September 3rd, 2011 at 9:03 PM ^
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:36 PM ^
What a bad personal foul.
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:37 PM ^
daaaaaaa bullsss

ND Game suspended due to weather.
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:42 PM ^
Game suspended again.
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:44 PM ^
Storms about the hit south bend. 4:21 left to play. It's pretty calm just west of there, so they could probably resume play quickly. I'm in NW indiana.
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:44 PM ^
Nahhhhhhhh.
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:45 PM ^
Well, at least Georgia is winning. F Boise State. :)
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:51 PM ^
All white vs all red looks wierd.
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:46 PM ^
Anyone watching LSU vs Oregon?
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:53 PM ^
ND won't concede the game, but they really should consider calling this game. I know that ND can come back, but at some point you are risking everyone's safety out there.
LSU-Oregon looks a good deal like last year's NC game - Oregon can't really impose their will, and LSU is too inconsistent to do more than hold server.
BSU and Georgia looks like an acid dream took a dump on the screen. Neon colors everywhere.
And as a general complaint, when are there going to be these "novelty" games north of the mason-dixon line? Northern schools should demand some of these SEC schools to travel to NY, Detroit, Indy, Chicago and play some big-time games. I'm tired of glorified home games in Texas and Georgia dressed up like OOC "neutral" games.
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:55 PM ^
The only neon is see is in Boise's shoes, but yeah I get your point.
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:59 PM ^
Then someone needs to set up those games and pay big money for teams to give up a home game.
I still can't figure out why Michigan gave up a home game to play in Jerry World next year. I'd rather play a Big East team or something like that and get another game on my ticket package.
September 3rd, 2011 at 9:25 PM ^
a lot of money to go to Dallas to play against Bama.
September 3rd, 2011 at 9:40 PM ^
But my sense is that those opportunities have been shot down by the SEC teams. I mean, I doubt that rich people and corporations in the north have not approached the LSU's and Georgia's of the world to inuire about playing a game in the new stadiums like the Meadowlands, Gillette, Soldier Field, etc. I suspect that those teams said no, or the conference said they wanted way more money, or were afraid those teams wouldn't travel, or whatever excuse they have. Whatever the reason, I'm kind of tired of seeing every SEC and B12 team have another home game. They already have most bowl games with a local advantage; I don't want to see a stadium filled with drunk SEC fans with red or yellow facepaint in the fall AND winter.
September 3rd, 2011 at 9:43 PM ^
That would work if teams from the Big 10 were opening their seasons in Indianapolis or Chicago against, say, USC (played at Minnesota last year), but that hasn't happened.
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:59 PM ^
The return guy for Oregon just lost his scholarship on that one. LSU TD.
September 3rd, 2011 at 8:59 PM ^
What a bad play from Barner.
September 3rd, 2011 at 9:01 PM ^
Good point re the novelty games. Alabama-Michigan in Dallas gives Alabama a decided advantage. It's akin to all the bowl games being played in Fla or California. I'd love to see teams from those states play a bowl game in Michigan or Minnesota on Jan 1.
September 3rd, 2011 at 9:06 PM ^
I kinda liked Georgia until they succumbed to the gimmick-uniform trend.
I beg someone to compile a video montage of Brian Kelly berating players.
September 3rd, 2011 at 9:13 PM ^
Supposedly that's why he wasn't pursued at all by Michigan in 2007--he's an epic dick.
