Jeff DelVerne's Tweets on the Scrimmage
Former Michigan kicker Jeff DelVerne was at the scrimmage and tweeted these observations...
I was at the U of M scrimmage today and they look very organized! Fitz Tousaint was the star for me.. Defense looks amazing
Denard is the real deal in this offense.. Seems to be easier to scramble in this offense cause defense doesn't expect it
I would say that the coaching staff today spent a lot of time on tackling, technique and teaching (less ranting). Black @ DE looks quick
Demens is baaaadddd to the bone
Kicking game looked solid! This freshman kicker has a lot of swagger/confidence and I couldn't believe it. Going to be a good year
I was shocked to see the growth from last year to spring to now! Very sharp on both sides of the football.
Needless to say, the part about Fitz made me feel all giddy.

Trieu said that Wyatt Shallman was there today. Always nice to have him on campus.

Was he the only visitor?

Fred JAckson is going to get in trouble for hacking into DelVerne's twitter account.
Those reviews sounded downright effusive.
Awesome!

If a former kicker says the kicking game looked good, and he likes what he sees with Matt Wile, then I am convinced we will be in good hands.

I'll believe the kicking game when I see it; practice is a different story from the real deal. But , positive notes overall.

This is true. I remember Rich saying Gibbons and Seth would routinely hit 50 yarders down the pipe in practice.

Like what I'm hearing.

I'm gonna bet DelVerne is a little to optimistic and Desmond is a little more pessimistic...
However, if they meet the middle somewhere than that would be a nice team to watch this year. I dont have out of this world hopes but still think we are gonna be a little better than some people think.

I believe in Fitzgerald Toussaint.

i heard from the scrimmage down here in cbus yesterday. Still can't settle on a quarterback, but looks like 40 year old may be the leader at the moment.
I'll take a kicker who can do half of what Jay Feely was doing Friday night (30 yarders); here's hoping Wile is the guy on Main St.
