I was in row 15 last year and enjoyed it thoroughly. Different kind of experience, but remember the rule -
there are no bad seats at the Big House.

Thanks for the input.

My season tickers are in row 16 in the corner and I love them. You will be right at the damn 50 you lucky dog so you will be golden. You will be behind the visitors though.

It'll be easier to heckle their bench. :)

Section 1 is great, its right on the 50 yard line. You will see everything just fine too at row 15. Personally the optimal row (IMO) is around row 50

Most would say rows 30-50 are ideal, but for 2 years my season tickets were Row 3 / Section 19. I have since moved higher, but sometimes I miss the feel of being so close to the field. Being that close and due to the vantage point everyone young and/or old were on their feet majority of the game which is the way I feel it should be. 1st trip down to seats with a family member or friend was always a neat experience as they were always amazed at how close the seats were to the field. I think Section1 / Row 15 would be a great place to be on gameday.

That should be awesome. I just got my student tickets. Section 28 row 31!! About time they give me good seats.

Anyone else pull the trigger on these? It'll be interesting to see how those work out in our row, particularly if the people to our left and right didn't get them...and the people to their left and right did.

can anyone comment on how the view is from section 3, row 50ish? i'll be there for the ND game

Section 3's about what, the 20 yard line, opponent's side...and 50 rows up is just about perfect, IMO. Should be great.

I just got my student tickets today, and I'm in section 31, row 34. That sounds just about perfect to me!

on a similar note, has anybody ever sat in section 32 in the student section? from what i can figure out it appears to be basically in the end zone (end of the student section). I'm quite dissappointed with the tickets and am hoping that somebody has sat there before who can say it's better than expected...

Yeah I was in section 32 my freshman and sophomore year. I was in 30 last year. I liked section 32 more then 30. But both are great. What row are you in? Freshman yeah I was row 70ish and sophomore I was 65.
August 12th, 2011 at 9:55 PM ^
i am in row 29, but from the seating chart it looks like it really won't be row 29 because section32 doesn't actually extend to the field.
Freshman year i just bought tickets randomly, but i ended up about 30 and 29 a lot, but last year i had FANTASTIC seats. Section 26 just underneath the suites. We were on about the 10 yard line and got shadded during the summer games. Few rows above the block M.

Row 29 in section 32 is actually 29 rows from the field. So you have great seats. And you only have junior standing? Damn I got screwed. I have senior standing and got section 27, row 30.
August 12th, 2011 at 10:06 PM ^
are you sure about that? the map shows section 31 swinging over. i mean i've never had seats in the section so i can't really comment, but i'm just wondering about how the view will be because i'm concerned it will be difficult to see the plays develop etc
August 12th, 2011 at 10:26 PM ^
Yes I am sure. I was section 30 row 56 last year. Which is also a section that does not go all the way down. And it was the same row if you were in section 31 row 56. So you are definitely 29 rows from the field.

well that's encouraging. i appreciate the information. i'm hoping that the view is better than i expect. did you find it difficult to get a good view of what was going on down on the field?
August 12th, 2011 at 11:12 PM ^
Yeah it is a bit difficult to tell what is going on past about the other 30. But on the plus side you get an amazing view on the close goal line.

oh yeah, i know, it's just that I'm seated with a group so it could be a little awkward to randomly move...
August 13th, 2011 at 10:16 AM ^
So is it more or less general admission? Im an incoming grad student so i know nothing about this. Im in row 13, but if i wanna sit with someone whos in row 50 or something will anyone care? How else do students get to sit with their friends?
August 13th, 2011 at 10:37 AM ^
No, just move. I can proudly say in 5 years at UM I never once sat (stood) where my ticket told me to.
I did have to deal with sorority sluts and bros who showed up near halftime and wanted "their seat" from time to time, but this was rare - maybe once a year. Most everyone deals and enjoys the game. Just don't be the guy that brings 5 people to an already full row, forcing people to grind each other the rest of the game.
EDIT: To more "officially" answer your question though, no it is not general admission (though should be). You can be asked to move if someone shows up with that ticket. Only assholes do this. No exception. If you've done this, you're an asshole and you should have got to the game on time. But technically, they can do that. The times this happened to me I told them to go get the usher and I'd move. They rarely followed up on it.

haha awesome, thanks

on a side note, just got my student tickets today. They are giant sized. No wonder it took longer for them to get out. They also sent a big booklet about the stadium with it.
