Possible Throwback Design Leaked?
I was just poking around MDen, and came across this:

It's an empty link. But it includes this thumbnail:

Looks just like the leaked design Brandon said wasn't the jersey.
This one has a number on the left. Also, Brandon said that they hadn't chosen a design yet, so that wasn't the chosen design (or something along those lines), i.e. they hadn't chosen it YET.
Thanks, guess I just got caught up on how fugly the thing is.
this design has grown on me.

I think that's an Aussie Rules Football Jersey.
It looks like a candy cane of pee.
$80.00
So do you think they mixed up the designs for the "Thowback" and the "Throwaway" jerseys? At $80, maybe this is the "Throwup" jersey?
a rugby jersey, I dont like it. Keep it simple!
The ring at the bottom, which looks like the years Michigan won the national championship. Unfortunately, the rest looks hideous.
The championships are the first detail I noticed. I think they're a nice touch.
Denard will rock it.
Wow, totally missed that little detail.
In case MDen takes down the pic, here's an alternate link:
as a random Michigan shirt to wear at games that doesn't make you look like a tool wearing an actual football jersey. It looks like a soccer jersey/dri fit type of shirt.
I can't imagine how bad the players will look wearing it, but I'd sport it as holligan type shirt.
I guess I better sell my jersey then...I'll just look like a tool wearing it.
I don't think it looks THAT bad, but it's not good. It still looks better than the Big Chill hockey jerseys. The blue could be darker. There could be less stripes. Whatever, if it gives ND the dizzies as Denard runs circles around them, I'm fine with it. Obviously, I prefer the regular home jerseys.
I would like to see 3 bigger stripes rather than the 7 smaller stripes, if they are going to go that route.
It looks very chaotic right now. They definitely could clean up the design a bit. I'd have a seizure if I was a defensive player on Notre Dame with all the stripes going back and forth.
Maybe that is it, the stripes are like the stripes on zebras where they confuse the lions. So we will confuse the ND tacklers at night and they don't stand a chance to pick out the RB's or Denard as they blow past them.
Yeah, but I guess I'm talking more in the I like them enough to buy them perspective. I think they would be confusing as hell on the football field, which is obviously a good thing.
I don't like the stripe sleeves. Only a handful of teams from 1880s-1910s wore a uniform with stripes on their sleeves. Why do we have to go so far back for our throwback uniforms?
Because if we don't, there's nothing to "throwback" to.
Even with the evidence, I'm a little doubtful that this will fly. There are reasons why players are required to have large numbers on front and back.
I like the color shade of the 60s and 70s uniforms. It would be great to use uniforms similar to '69! May be Hoke will end up having a similar season to Bo's first season!
You mean a sub-par season with a miraculous win over #1 ranked Ohio State?... I don't think so.
Sub-par? They won the Big Ten in '69!
8-4 (including bowl loss). All I meant by sub-par was that I think a four loss season for Hoke this coming year would be sub-par - and there is no way OSU will be the #1 team in the country.
They didn't lose four games. They went 8-3 overall. Back then the regular season was 10 games long.
The season started poorly, with early losses to Missouri and MSU, but then finished very well. The team struggled some in the early going as the players became acclimated to Bo's system, but were a machine down the stretch, dominating their last 4-5 opponents. Then Bo had the heart attack on the eve of the Rose Bowl and the team wasn't the same that day. With Bo they'd have probably won and finished 9-2.
So you would be unimpressed with a Big Ten Championship, a win against Ohio State, and a Rose Bowl birth?... do you realize what most of us would do for that?
Don't try to twist this. Bo's first season was an absolute dream.
MSU is now using their throwback uni's
Not really a throwback... more like their current alternate jersey.
the number of stripes. If there were only two or three on the sleeves I think it would be pretty sweet.
I agree it would look better if they dropped the number of stripes. Since the game jerseys the team typically wears have much shorter sleeves, i am hoping that will make it look a little better. What I really don't like is the stitching on the M and the numbers that makes all those triangles. Leave the block M alone.
What's with the stitching on the Block M? I can live with the rest (sleeve stripes are odd, but they have to do enough to make them look different than a plain blue jersey), but the M filled with triangles is just bizarre.
If they just kept the 3 shoulder stripes and shortened the sleeves. Then I would like these uniforms.
If you really want a throwback, just have the team wear blue jerseys with the block "M" and number.
I'm not a fan of the rugby shirt.
I like it. Maybe if they tweak it just a little bit to look more like these...
I dont mind these too much, if they would make different style numbers, take out the block M, and make it a darker blue these would make for a decent change up jersey.
It's not the worst thing I have ever seen, but I really don't like the sleeves. I think the stripes should maybe be just on the shoulders with solid blue the rest of the way down. Interesting that MDen would be the ones to leak it, if it really is the jersey. I may buy it, just to be different.
check out the paint skillz:
...does it come in yellow? 'Cus that would be AWESOME, bro!
Who the hell am I kidding? I'll buy the damn thing like the lemming that I am.
I don't dislike it. I'd buy it if it wasn't $80. I think it'll look a lot different on the players and it will probably look a lot better with the helmet to complement it.
As opposed to modern pharaohs...
Hey Mubarak never wore a Nemes.
A commitment from one?
Am I the only one who thinks it's horrific? Way too many stripes.
