The tv networks will select later tonight. By tomorrow we will know. Three of the four #1 seeds will play friday, so assume a possibility of playing an afternoon game.
If I had to guess, either the first or last game of the day. UNC and Duke will get the better times.
They will be paired up with the Duke game, so with their national appeal, I would give it a 80% chance of being in the eveniing games.
Either way this sucks because I'm gonna have to miss it.
Michigan is in the CCHA Semifinals at The Joe.
I think the fact that we are paired with Duke, means we are likely to be the evening game. Very often Duke plays the 9pm game, which would mean we are the 7pm game. I am hoping for that.
Please, Please be an evening game!
In 2010 were either played at 730p or 930p. In theory alone the 8/9 seed is most competitive. Being paired in the West makes me guess 930p.
I think in the past the 1/16 games haven't been in prime time because of the rout potential.
Duke and North Carolina are playing in the same building. So I highly doubt they won't get the primetime slots in their home state.
then again 1/16, 2/15 are usually routs...
Please be after 3:00

I'm hoping for an afternoon game, I have baseball tryouts from 8-10
is showing the game time at 12pm... i don't believe it because there isn't one game later then 3pm on the 17th or 18th...

Maybe we're going 3 on 3 at one end of the court and UNC is at the other. I like Gus Macker and all but really?
We will either play before that or after. I bet UNC plays the late game in session 1 and Duke plays the early game in session 2. We will have a 9 pm start or later.
Link?
I would say it's a safe bet we're the late game. We play in the same pod as Duke in North Carolina, which will almost certainly be the primetime game. We would go after it.
That said, the other Charlotte pod now that I look at it has UNC. UNC probably has the bigger fanbase and they might get the primetime slot.
Let's wait and see. I still think it'll be the late game but could be the afternoon. Only one I'll prohibitively say it won't be is the 3rd game in the primetime slot.
You sound like a weather man.
Just went back and read what I wrote and yeah, I somehow managed to write 2 straight rambling posts that said absolutely nothing of value. My bad.
As a hard-working weather man, I take great offense to your post. There is a 50% chance that I will have to kick your a$$ the next time we meet. :)
Seems like in the past we've always been in the evening in the first round. I would imagine Michigan is a pretty big ratings draw what with the largest alumni base and all.
I go to a catholic high school (my parents make me), and this week we have our "retreat". We have off school Thurday (I was praying Michigan would play then), but our retreat is Friday morning-Saturday morning. THIS MEANS I HAVE TO MISS THE MICHIGAN BASKETBALL GAME. So, I have 2 choices, secretley follow the game on my phone in the bathroom, and watch the replay of the game on Saturday, or just not go on any-sports related websites so I watch the game on Saturday without knowing the outcome. What should I do?
You get your phone and listen to WTKA/WWJ streamed live. Use small earplugs and hide the chord.

Or Buddhism. Or Islam. Or Scientology. Or whatever religion you can make up that works for you. Then tell your parents that part of your new religion involves watching every second of the NCAA Tournament.
Not only will this piss off your parents (a legitimate goal for all teenagers the world over), but it will get you out of boring religious activities, family functions, and other mundane social burdens for years to come.
You may not get into heaven, but if you never have to miss a big game (or any other cool activity you decide to participate in) do you really need a promotion at that point?

You can lie and say you are sick -- of course that might not really be a good use of a Catholic education.

Skip it. God will understand.

And really, really sell it.
Take your cue from this guy:

Go to the retreat and don't worry about it. You'll get to see us play on Sunday.
Wow you guys are good. I just figured out how to share the internet on my phone to my ipod which has an app with WTKA. Maybe I'll be taking a VERY long bathroom break towards the end of game. (Also If I skip the retreat, I have to go next year. Michigan will probably be better next year so Id rather miss this years game)
