Great reply. |

"I root for Denard because most MGoBloggers are obsessed with Forcier(!), and wrote Denard off." |
| 3 years 38 weeks ago | Video is great. Nice job. |
It's funny how you won't see certain people post on a thread like this. Now...make a post poking a little fun at one of our rivals, or giving your opinion on a recruit, and watch out! |
| 3 years 44 weeks ago | This post is |
chock full of awesome. +1,000,000,000 |
| 3 years 46 weeks ago | See. You DO learn something everyday. |
I just realized that Joe Louis Arena is only 9 years older that the Palace. So, why does the Palace SEEM so much nicer? |
| 3 years 47 weeks ago | Ban this lame troll |
please. |
| 3 years 49 weeks ago | Exactly my point. |
There is just as much evidence for this: "...but I wonder if there are potential recruits who imagine that gravelly voice barking at them as they puke their guts out on Barwis Beach, and say "um, no thanks." Especially linemen." as there is for these: "If Michigan goes 8-4 in the regular season this year, you will see kids like Gholston, Prater, Henderson and Clay give Michigan more than a sideways look." "If Michigan has a good record, the last 10 kids in this class will be of the four star variety." "If Michigan stinks again, well, we'll get three star kids." One poster is saying that Barwis may "scare off" some potential recruits, and another is saying that some other potential recruits may "give Michigan more than a sideways look" if we go 8-4. I fail to see the huge difference there. We HAVE had a few lineman leave the program since Barwis arrived, so it isn't thaaat big of a stretch for him to surmise that some potential line recruits might be turned off by Barwis. I've yet to see evidence that any of those particular recruits are going to give us MORE of a look based on an 8-4 record. He's also claiming that if we "have a good record" (whatever that might be), that the "last 10 kids will be 4 stars". If not they will be 3 stars. Um, wow. Do I even need to go here? |
| 3 years 49 weeks ago | You |
can call them whatever you want considering jg2112 seems to have understood the overall point. In response to your post though, couldn't a recruit visiting Michigan and being turned off by Barwis just as easily be called "mild speculation", or even a "possible outcome"? You might even say that there is "solid reasoning" behind it, considering the Dann O'Neill situation. My point was that ALL of those points are speculative. If you want to argue "degrees of speculation", go ahead. |
| 3 years 49 weeks ago | Other examples of "rampant speculation": |
"If Michigan goes 8-4 in the regular season this year, you will see kids like Gholston, Prater, Henderson and Clay give Michigan more than a sideways look." "If Michigan has a good record, the last 10 kids in this class will be of the four star variety." "If Michigan stinks again, well, we'll get three star kids." |
| 3 years 50 weeks ago | What is there to refute? |
You don't even make a valid point. How do you argue with that? You basically admitted that you don't have any stats to back up your baseless assertions. Here's how stupid you sound: "The refs in the Pac-10 and the refs in the Big-10 both calls their conference games differently. The refs allow the Pac-10 to get away with penalties during the Rose Bowl that would normally be called in a Big-10 game. That's why the Big-10 teams always complain about the officiating after the game, and that's why they lose. It's too bad because the Pac-10 doesn't need that kind of help. No, there aren't any stats or evidence to back up my bullshit theory, but if you can't see this, then you haven't watched enough Pac-10 football." We get it. You like both teams. Great. It should be a fun series for you to watch. But please spare us with the "Wings are winning because the refs allow them to cheat (like they always do)" angle. |
| 3 years 50 weeks ago | Just stop. |
You sound like a complete idiot. There is absolutely nothing that backs up your argument. |
| 4 years 2 weeks ago | This EXACTLY: |
"If McFarlin is uncomfortable with having his information posted in this space while he doesn't have a problem with it in another space, that says something about how he's acted in this context." |
| 4 years 12 weeks ago | Again. I agree. |
It's a great ad, that was done well. In the end, it WILL sell more bourbon for them...which was the whole point. I just understood when some posters had a rush of blood to the head and vented. But I've already said my piece. Let's see what Brian posts tomorrow. Sheesh. Peace. |
| 4 years 12 weeks ago | I'm not sure how to. |
respond to you when you post in a normal tone. Look, I understand your whole point. The point of the ad WAS INDEED to get OSU fans to buy their bourbon. And how did they go about that? By dissing/zinging their biggest rival. The message in the ad was most definitely a dig at Michigan. And I'm fine with that. Michigan and Michigan fans only factor into this because they mentioned us BY NAME. I'll say it again...I don't have a problem with the ad. I have a problem with you guys constantly going batshit on people that disagree with you. How many times do you tell people things like "You should probably just put a gun in your mouth and end it all"? Is it really necessary? Isn't that what we have people like chi and dex for? So they can delete the truly idiotic stuff? After a post like this from Brian, "OMG! $UCKEYES!" is what I would EXPECT to see on here. It's the impotent rage from a fan that got dissed, and has no forum (other than this) to voice their displeasure. You can't see why some Michigan fans wouldn't like the ad? If this same sign was done in Ann Arbor, I would expect to see a ton of Buckeyes fans saying "Fuck Michigan!", etc. on their blogs. Not this: "Wait, you guys are fucking idiots! That signs cool! If you're offended by it, you suck!" |
| 4 years 12 weeks ago | Again chi |
My problem is not with the ad. It's about the constant need to verbally cannibalize our own fans. He's made it clear that whether or not you are a Michigan fan is irrelevant to him. Fine. So be it. Let the name-calling begin. Just to be clear, I don't have a problem with the ad., but I understand why some people think it's offensive. Yes, the point of the banner was to sell more bourbon....by *zinging* (read: offending) the local markets biggest rival. That's smart. That's fine. We deserve it. I have no problem with that. I actually think it's great. But let's be clear about the purpose. I mean they *specifically* mentioned Michigan by name. Let's put this in perspective for you since you live in Chicago (wonderful city BTW): If, when the White Sox won the World Series, Maker's Mark decided to run a witty little banner on the South Side near US Cellular that went along the lines of: "Maker's Mark: The Bourbon of Champions", and then just to rub it in the Cubs fans noses a little more, they had a little asterisk that said: "*obviously not sold at Wrigley Field". Or if you think that's too far fetched, what if the Steelers ran the same campaign, and had: "*obviously not sold in Cleveland". You don't think that some Cubs or some Browns fans might find that offensive? I mean, really? You can't see that? The point is: even though I don't find it offensive, I understand why others would, and I have no problem with it. Ironically, the whole point is that I'm tired of coming on here and reading argument after argument, and yet, I just contributed to a long one. Pity. |
| 4 years 12 weeks ago | Aww shucks. Thanks. |
You're kind of cute too, when your not being so belligerent. No one is asking you to "agree with people just because our TV's are tuned to the same TV station on Saturdays in the fall.". It's NOT ABOUT the ad. Just asking you to show a little courtesy to your fellow Michigan fans, who don't share your opinion. Is that so hard? No, it's much easier to try to be witty and acerbic. But again, you've pointed out numerous times what your position is, so I get it. If someone disagrees with you, they are a MORON. In turn, I think that makes you a MORON. Now that that's been established. We can all resume our regularly scheduled commenting. Fire away! Cheers. |
| 4 years 12 weeks ago | It looks like |
YOU need to work on your reading comprehension *doofus*. Calm down, and see if you can follow this.... One of the definitions from Websters: -intransitive verb- " b: to cause dislike, anger, or vexation" It's safe to say that this ad was intended to be offensive....TO MICHIGAN FANS. It was meant to "vex" Michigan fans. That's actually, ya know, the whole point of it. It wouldn't work if it DIDN'T offend Michigan fans. You saying that Michigan fans that are offended by this are morons, in turn, only makes you look like a moron. FTR, I don't have a problem with the ad at all. I was just wondering why you feel the need to rip on your fellow Michigan fans so much, but you explained yourself so that's fine. No one's asking you to "blindly believe all the same bullshit", just to be civil. You'd rather call people "moron" and "doofus" if they disagree with you. That's cool. Give yourself a pat on the back for 1) being so smart, and 2) being so friendly. |
| 4 years 12 weeks ago | Here let me change mine |
so that you can understand that the *point* is still the same: "No, if you can't see why this ad offends some Michigan fans then you are a moron." You've just spent how long on here defending an ad that directly rips on your team, and attacking Michigan fans that didn't like it (or were OFFENDED by it). You're awesome. It's funny. You're quick to defend recruits, players, coaches, etc., but you have no problem ripping on other Michigan fans. Stay classy! |
| 4 years 12 weeks ago | No, |
if you can't see why SOME Michigan finds wouldn't like this ad then YOU are a moron. |
| 4 years 13 weeks ago | Wow Jay. Looks like I was wrong. |
It's not an act. You really are that stupid. The OP asked a simple question about his eligibilty. Talk about obsessing and getting a life, you just spent 8 hours defending Boren. If you hadn't gotten your panties in a bunch over him, this thread would probably already have gone away. What did you expect? To see a bunch of Michigan fans come on here and wish him well? And please, he's 20 yrs old. He may be immature, but he's no kid. If you can't see that there was a difference (in some fans eyes) between the way he left, and someone like McGuffie, then you are hopelessly lost. If this happened at any other school that has a hated rival, the results would have been the same. For example: If Pryor left OSU right now (and left their qb ranks severely depleted_, then ripped Tressell a new one on the way out, dressed up like Tressell at the Halloween party, and then had the balls to transfer to.....I don't know, MICH!.....you don't think a few OSU fans would hate the kid? No one is obsessing about it except you. How many different people have you argued with now? Oh wait. That's what jay does. |
| 4 years 13 weeks ago | I'll tell you what's |
un-fucking-believable: Your dumbass on here defending Boren, and not understanding why Michigan fans don't like the guy. You can't be that stupid. Judging from your posts ~you're probably not even a Michigan fan anyways~, you probably just love to stir things up. Even if his reasons were legit, it takes a special kind of idiot to not see why fans are pissed that he left and went to play for their hated rival. |

and you'll see this post go up in smoke too. |
| 4 years 15 weeks ago | *raises hand* |
I was hoping for a preferred walk on from him. Oh, well. He'll fit right in at Central. Never heard of Glendening. |
| 4 years 17 weeks ago | This thread sucks. |
Lame ass poll, and some equally lame ass "Michigan fans". Like we should just forget about anything that happened before the AP poll. Puh-lease. How. Fucking. Stupid. We don't need to apologize that some pussy-ass girls school hadn't come up with a team yet. And we don't need to apologize that a team like Cornell couldn't keep up with the big dogs. This is the equivalent of ESPN releasing a NHL prestige poll, and putting a team like Pittsburgh ahead of the Maple Leafs. But wait! Toronto hasn't won a Stanley Cup since the 67 expansion and Pittsburgh has! Waaa! Idiots. |
| 4 years 20 weeks ago | Riiiight.... |
I'm sure EVERY single program recruits the EXACT same way Jay. |
| 4 years 20 weeks ago | Hey, didn't THE KNOWLEDGE say... |
in one of his posts that RichRod actually DID contact LeBeau? If THE KNOWLEDGE said it, it MUST be true! |
