Verry sorry for your loss. WIll definitely be praying for you and your wife during this tough time...for peace and that you'd know you're supported and cared for.
You sir...are going to be busy! And, very good at making these helmets. Nice work! As one of the first, if not the first, to suggest selling these and the $100 price I expect mine has a few extra helmet stickers to do #5 right by!
I'd do the $100 for one of those. I've got a few full size helmets...and yours does look even better than the full size one on mden for $400. Just, like, my opinion man. The $400 one looks pretty cool though...but you can't do anything other than put it on the shelf. Might as well go with the smaller $100 one. $29.95 for the helmet...$70.05 for your "artistic" work on the helmet. ;-)
That's awesome! I'm with a few of the others. I don't have the attention to put one of those together...but I will totally shell out some $$ for one. Seems like you have a business opportunity here...
I bet $25 that Jake Rudock throws no interceptions during the game on Saturday. If I win, please donate to Feed My Starving Children www.fmsc.org or a similar organization.
There was a play in the second half where Rudock hit a Michigan receiver who started thinking about where he was going to run before he caught the ball and he dropped it. Immediately after that play it looked to me like Whittingham said: "Are these guys idiots?"...but it was unclear to me whether he was talking about his defensive players, who it looked like he had been trying to shuffle...or Michigan. Did anyone else see this?
Winking Lizard BBQ Sauce from Winking Lizard Tavern. Admittedly, it is from a small ohio-based food chain...but boy is this stuff good. Goes great with anything you can grill...and on a lot of other foods as well.
For me at least, it is sometimes easy to get so wrapped up in the football side of reading about Michigan athletes that I forget about the personal-development side of the coaching. These are young men in their late teens or early 20's that are not just going through the challenges and struggles of life, but the challenges and struggles of life that are particular to the college years. Based on the circumstances of having a new coach, limited time to recruit for this next class, and what we've seen from Bosch talent-wise, I'm guessing the football side of things would have said it would be a lot easier to try and keep him around. That leads me to expect that the stipulations had to do with Coach Harbaugh looking out for The Team and for Kyle's personal development not just as a player, but as a person. If that was the case, I think that's exactly what most of us want to see in a Coach, and hopefully exactly what the parents of recruits will want to see when they consider their child going to Michigan to play football. Sure, we are all anxious for things to get turned around with the football program, but at the end of the day these are kids with a lot of life left to live...and for most of them, who won't play beyond their years at Michigan, a lot of life to live that won't involve football.
I thought getting Durkin and Anderson was a stretch...especially with Mattison staying on. Agree with the OP that while Michigan/Harbaugh was probably attractive the split very well may not have been. However, with all the talking and big names being thrown around I sure hope we land Durkin at this point...and the rumors seem to still be swirling about Turley. No Durkin would suck some wind out of the sails IMO.
Seriously? He might be a good coach...and we could use someone who could develop players consistently...but if we go for this guy we've obviously struck out on some of the big names that could bring some instant legitimacy to Michigan recruiting. I'm of the opinion that a big name is going to be criticial if Michigan is going to compete with Urban and Ohio on the recruiting trail.
The only thing getting dumped today is...hey, what time is that team meeting again?
Any chance someone can start a thread for Michigan versus the fighting oranges? I'm calling it now...Spike is going to come off the bench to light 'cuse up like a...candle.
I'd be curious Brian's thoughts on when Michigan football was at its best overall in terms of football domination, public respect, recruiting momentum, etc. As a follow-up where does Coach Hoke and the current team stand in comparison (assuming it is fair to expect he doesn't think that Michigan football is currently at its historical high point).
UTL 1 was unbelieveable. The Big House was rocking. Electric. And usually I'm not one for pom-poms...but once the entire stadium got going that was pretty cool.
I live in Jersey...transplant from Toledo via Cleveland. Used to have UM season tickets but gave them up after a few years out here. Am planning to try and go to the Rutgers game (planned to go to UConn last year but didn't work out). Having done some basic research it looks like best options are the three game package already mentioned or paying anything from $90 and up in stubhub. For my part, I plan to wait a bit and I expect more tickets to hit the market and push prices down.. It does look like Rutgers fans (and UM fans from the area) are driving prices up so far treating this as a marquee game coming to NJ.
Dad went to Michigan...so had that going for me...but grew up in Toledo surrounded by Buckeye friends and know exactly what its like fighting that battle. As a young kid, a Michigan jersey and a trip to The Big House can go an awful long way. As you get older, there's something nice about making your own decisions and not just going with the same team everyone else did. Plus, that winged helmet and the Maize and Blue of Michigan are just night and day better than the colors of that school down south. And mascots...you can be a Wolverine or root for Brutus the giant nut.
The good thing about Toledo is that it has the best mix of Wolverine fans in the state of ohio...if you go to the mall you'll see a good number of Michigan fans...and a young kid in a jersey will get his fair share of Go Blue exclamations...might cheer him up. But nothing will do it like the first time he watches a Michigan win in The Game...hopefully someday soon!
Lifelong Michigan fan...but Pistons I'm so frustrated with tonight. Burke could have gone six...falls to Pistons...and Dumars craps his pants and picks a player almost no one has heard of. Ugh. Thank goodness for Michigan sports.
The greatest website ever. Lifelong Michigan fan. Moved to NJ from ohio two years ago...love this website and miss my MICHIGAN season tickets. Thank goodness for BTN!
Crown and coke going down easy now. Best part of day was watching BTN replay of MICHIGAN vs Illinois from 2010. Was there with my brother...awesome game! Even Forcier felt good that day!

Awesome! Making some good progress!

Welp...I hope Joe Dumars doesn't happen to click over to this...
I think the Lions will re-sign Suh. I think they will also go DT in rd 1...which feels boring, but probably a good move. I think they go RB in rd 2.
Um, at least we've got Harbaugh?! Here's to 2016 recruiting!!
I think that they will be raising 100's of 10's of dollars to clean things up!
