Mattison is a good to great DC and there is little to no risk of him leaving. Continuity is a good thing to have as long as there is production to go along with it.
I don't recall one previous to 2012. He then had this one back in March.
What was the third?
I don't think Zeke should be suspended either by the way. I do think I would probably lessen his playing time or carries further after publicly lambasting his coaches. That's not a good look for the program and shouldn't be tolerated.
Meyer agreeing with him and saying he will get more involved in the play calling makes him seem lost as a head coach to me as well. Who's really running that program? Players and coordinators? He's supposed to be in charge and should have taken charge while the game was still being played if he didn't agree with he calls.
What, he thought it would magically change by itself?
Clark was the one hat basically committed a felony right? Breaking and Entering and stealing things from a dorm room but dropped to lesser charges, if I recall correctly.
Fitz was also a late July thing and also involved driving where lives are at risk, similar to Glasgow's first incident.
I'm fine with how Graham was handled this time around.
My bad on confusing the two as far as injury. Point still stands on him being punished.
Incident was in what, March? So he should carry his punishment some 6 months later? Even after facing the law and whatever else between the incident and the start of the season?
That seems silly to me.
So as long as the incident happens mid-season and he misses a game, like JT, it's fine?
"Michigan fifth-year senior offensive lineman Graham Glasgow was suspended by the U-M football program after violating his probation and will have additional legal consequences." - FreeP
Peppers is great stopping the run and coming up to blow up screen passes.
I don't see anyone on the team with the athleticism that Peppers has in being as good in coverage as well as at the line of scrimmage as he is.
I'd much rather have him on D and play offense as necessary vs more offensive snaps at the expense of defensive snaps, especially with the risk of injury.
Until we have a better run blocking OLine, I'd rather toss the RB by committee at our opponents which also lowers the risk of injury for each back by way of distributing the carries.
Harbaugh himself called him at the beginning of the year and told him he should think about life after football.
Yes, one year for Hill, but that would be at a position that touches the ball an awful lot and with a playing style that makes him very prone to taking more hits than the average pocket passer type.
We told Pip he should be done with football per his injuries. We cooled on Falcon and offered an academic scholly instead to him, where he has had basically a year to recover and could redshirt before playing.
I fear taking Hill would be a huge double standard after he has had a couple of season enders already in his NCAA career.
However, I trust the staff to do what's best for the team and overall program.
Hill, if healthy, would be interesting to see in Harbaugh's offense. O'Korn, however, has been absorbing it for a year already and would seemingly have that as an advantage over Hill.
I'd rather see Hill used situationally, if he came to Michigan, than being our every down starter. Maybe that's just me.
All of the players praise his demeanor under fire and his ability to stay calm, not getting too high or too low as things unfold.
Lately he has made some very NFL-like throws as evidenced by the TD in double OT last week and a bunch of others in the last two games.
If I were say, the Lions, with a QB who is not quite a franchise guy, or I were a team rebuilding, Jake might be one I'd look at simply for depth during the rebuild. Assuming my line needs work and I don't want to quite put a franchise guy back there just yet - Jake could be a good option to evaluate while evaluating the team as a whole.
He wouldn't be a high pick so there isn't much to lose and you could be striking gold.
He has now absorbed two offenses, one in a very short time, the latter of which is an NFL scheme!
I'd probably take him over more spread happy options on that alone.
Should be a good test for Jake's progression. I think PSU knows this and will gamble on selling out to stop the run. This may actually play to our advantage now that we can seemingly pass the ball as well. I would look for a lot of play action passes early to play off of this.
If we play solid D, we should then win by a large (2 TD) margin.
That is Kingston Davis, I believe, and he's a STUD. He will be very good. Bigger back with good speed. He is one of the guys I'm most excited to see in a winged helmet.
The pics are impressive but much is flex vs non flex for posing.
But gaining 4.5-7" on vertical jump is huge. Same with many of the other gains listed for the two of them.
Maybe Harbaugh should send AJ Williamson to Sanderson to have him lose weight and run faster (based on his press conference write up on M-Live).
His running style is very similar. Runs with toughness and has very good speed. He has power back size too especially once he gets that NCAA training, look out.
Kid might get PT as a freshman.
But that's not a bad thing if it's his best spot - big DBs are coveted by this staff it seems. To me this is why Stribs is getting so much more play this year vs last year after having a good freshman year initially.
Walker has more speed, more shake, more vision, and is less of a bowling ball type than Green was in his high school film.
Walker has good speed but I like his quickness and vision.
He also has said he wants to be part of a stable of backs to stay fresh for a chance to play in the league.
We run by committee and he likes it. OSU has had Zeke taking most of the carries and there isn't much distribution to other backs as of yet.
I think seeing Higdon and Johnson gives Kareem a good idea of how he'd fit into this offense.
Directly behind the entrance tunnel and I have a great view. I like the corner ends know view from higher up since I can see plays develop and a better view of the whole field.
I've sat all over and wouldn't change where my season tickets are for the world.
Plus they are the same ones my grandparents sat in for 50 years.
Can't wait to take my son again tomorrow! Go Blue!
I'm pretty sure he knows what pro offenses look like. There are quite a few teams that use two TE sets to Lund the rock at times. Right now we have to do it more out of necessity than choice.
I'm fine with him being behind Smith and still easing his way back.
15-20 carries max is what I predict for Johnson.
20+ for Smith, Isaac and Green can split the other 10ish.
50+ rushes to bludgeon NW with power and then smother them with defense!
Fleck with B1G recruiting would be interesting. He has had back to back record breaking classes at WMU.
He's high energy and has been an up and coming guy for some time now.
Kudos sir. Jake is very much like a freshman in these regards and we as fans need to understand that.
This isn't fantasy football or a video game where you just plug a guy in and reap the benefits.
There is a learning process and Jake didn't get the spring to start the process. He's still very new to the team and staff, while everyone else on the team is also learning a new system as well.
I'll refrain from over-analyzing QB play and will revert to simply trusting the staff and supporting the team going forward. I'd suggest some of you do the same for your own sanity's sake.
A healthy dose of ground and pound with more play action in the passing game. If BYU is aggressive with pressure we will turn to hitches, slants and screens to use it against them.
This will not be a vertical team.
As far as wrinkles, maybe Peppers in the pistol with some read option and QB draws. Maybe a bubble screen or two to get him in space.
First year coach, first year with the team, first year with the team learning new offensive schemes all together as a whole.
At times I catch myself wondering why Shane isn't getting a shot or why we are sticking with Jake but then I remember who the coach is.
Harbaugh knows what he's doing and by making knee jerk reactions to coachable mistakes you can easily lose trust from the team by not trusting your own players.
The bottom line is that we are winning the games we should win so far and we are doing it based on the ground and pound game plans we are supposed to follow.
Yeah, maybe with perfect QB play we would have covered the spread against UNLV. Ultimately that doesn't matter. Wins matter and so does building trust within a team. I'm happy to see we seem to be doing both so far.
We are exactly where I thought we'd be at this point in the season and actually are slightly ahead since I didn't see us running this effectively this early.
I'm not hitting the panic button and I'm happy JH stands behind his guys. For the record he has not been shy about saying that Jake could get better or that he missed a throw here and there. He just seems to have the expectation that this will happen and we should too, considering the facts outlined in my first thought above.
I prefer mostly noon games with a 3:30 game or two sprinkled in. Maybe one night game every so often as well but that doesn't have to mean every season.
Just a thought. Maybe when Wormley slides outside, they put Godin at DT at times. Also maybe this helps to keep competition alive and prevents complacency.
Really just a shorthand notation so why would an apostrophe make sense?
Do you say "boy I'd love to see more interception's"? No thus apostrophe does not fit. Those grammar people you refer to seem wrong in my opinion.
But that's just my opinion and I'm not a professional grammar analyst :)
I found this link to be a good read in relation to what we witnessed Saturday. I think it's been pretty well documented that Harbaugh will stick with the power and run it over and over as long as it's working, while setting up the pass from similar looks. Here is one example of this documentation:

I for one really enjoyed being on the plus side of this attack. I remember seeing him at Stanford and being very jealous that they were not us and we were not them.
Ian Bunting looked pretty good yesterday. It was like there were two Jake Butts on the field. I was confused for a minute. That could have just been the Not Your Father's RootBeer too.
- ORE being a spread team has a little less beef on the OL and more agility than us. I think our OL matches up with MSU slightly better as a result.
- Our D is better than ORE's, period.
- Our team is a work in progress that is seemingly able to not only improve week to week but also from quarter to quarter, or play by play, based on these first couple weeks. Something we haven't been able to say for a while, albeit with a small sample size. Nice to see adjustments being made on the fly and our team executing these adjustments.
I think we matchup better than I thought we would going into the season.

It's not easy but can be done. If he can "Hackett" this is one of the best B-Schools to do it at.

Something tells me to keep an eye on this one. I'm pulling for him simply because he's from my home town.

MSU - 78%
Also was not aware that annual cost is higher at MSU than at this Michigan of ours.
