I think your floor spacing…

I think your floor spacing is going to suffer without Poole. It's a little too late in the season to tinker with the starting lineup IMO. If we were to make any changes, I would actually be more supportive of a Matthews / Livers switch - this improves your shooting and allows Matthews to handle the ball a bit more with the second unit.

Hey all - taking my dad to…

Hey all - taking my dad to the game for his 60th birthday and looking for 5 tickets to the Wisconsin game. Let me know!

OP, you clearly need to

OP, you clearly need to understand how things work here.

1) Original opinions are not valued. Essentially find the posters with >5000 points and paraphrase their comments. You should be fine.

2) Posts with kittens, Hoke/Borges popular phrases like "boo-boo" and pictures of Hoke pointing all "add value". Anything resembling a criticism will be neg'd.

Welcome!

So an OSU fan posts a

So an OSU fan posts a perfectly reasonable comment, and it gets neg'd. Seems like you guys just made his point for him...

We love to make fun of the trash that gets posted on the RCMB, although the fact that we discourage opinions that differ from that of the overall board is just as bad, if not worse.

I believe you're referring to

I believe you're referring to the "Inverted veer" that Cam Newton used to terrorize the SEC for a year.

We also ran it quite a bit last year, most notably against OSU I believe. Denard's long touchdown run, and second touchdown run near the goalline were both off the inverted veer.

In that case I'll take

In that case I'll take Miami(YTM)

I'm not sure why everyone

I'm not sure why everyone responds to any RR post with "We have a great team... Hoke is the coach now... enjoy the #1 recruiting class etc etc..."

Appreciating the talent and success we're currently experiencing, and debating the RR situation are not mutually exclusive. If you truly don't want to hear/talk about him, don't bother visiting the thread.

I appreciate these threads, because I still enjoy hearing any news that comes out of his time here, and the reaction and insight of those willing to share on the board. So please don't discourage these discussions, because I (along with may others I believe) still find the topic interesting.

No luck for the PS3 then?

Love the run by Hayes at the

Love the run by Hayes at the end.

Tried yours denarded -

Tried yours denarded - unfortunately still the old rosters.

Your sophomore year is by far

Your sophomore year is by far the most important in regards to GPA. You'll begin internship recruiting with only 2 semesters of credits taken into account in your GPA, so your sophomore year classes will be extremely competitive.

Are we overrating

Are we overrating Ross/RJS/Wilson a bit? I understand Ross is somewhat small for an NFL linebacker, and rivals rates gears their recruiting a bit towards NFL potential, although RJS and Wilson seem to have at least adequate size as an NFL prospect.

Hate to say it, but I almost

Hate to say it, but I almost wish it were true. Seeing him go to MSU would be extremely painful.

Did you update the player

Did you update the player ratings as well?

Lets be honest...

As optimistic as I am that the offense will be effective this year, I think the majority of us would be much more confident in the offense if we were continuing to run a spread scheme. I understand that the pro set should keep Denard relatively healthy, although I think saying that changing the offense is a great idea sounds like us trying to convince ourselves..

Huge fan of Hayes. Also love

Huge fan of Hayes. Also love the Breaston comparison. Hayes seems to be one of those guys that you have to find 10-15 "touches" per game for, whether they came on end arounds, carries, screens, or returns. Looking forward to watching Borges find ways to utilize him.

Is there a consensus that

Is there a consensus that Smith is our 3rd down back against Western? I was really hoping Hayes would be that guy, as I have very high hopes for him.

And also very undersized,

And also very undersized, assuming RVB is in fact 290, Black is around 260 and Roh is 270

Yes, I'm aware of his record.

Yes, I'm aware of his record. He won 3, 5, and 7 games. When Rich was hired I expected him to struggle initially, but I was willing to experience a few down years in order to see a team with brilliant offensive schemes and michigan caliber players. Clearly we saw the very beginnings of this plan last year on the offensive end. We also returned 10 starters this year, so clearly the offensive performance was beginning to take place.

I also envisioned an average Michigan defense, which I think we would have seen this year. One of the best offenses in CFB, with an average big ten defense IMO would be a formula that would tear through the Big 10 year after year.

Obviously we didn't have an average defense last year, however my thinking is that it's must easier to improve special teams and defense to an average level, than improve an offense from above average to elite.

Who are we to judge whether

Who are we to judge whether RR did or didn't do enough to stay? Obviously Brandon didn't think he had done enough to stay. However, if we had a different AD, and RR is still here, did he suddenly do enough to stay?

I understand its a slightly pointeless thing to debate but to say that he "obviously didn't do enough to stay" is a very bold statement IMO.

I love this board, but I

I love this board, but I don't understand why any pro RR people get downvoted and anti RR people get upvoted. I understand this wasn't meant to be a "debate RR" thread, but if someone says "Hoke is an upgrade, heres why..." you're asking for someone to disagree with you. I think both posts are fine, however the response to Hoke being an upgrade gets downvoted, and the "Hoke is an upgrade" post gets upvoted.

People have differing opinions. Always will. It's not a sin to believe that RR is/was was a better coach. Rooting for Hoke to fail would be, however I don't think any RR supporters are rooting against Hoke in any way.

I find it very interesting to

I find it very interesting to hear Rich speak regarding the current Michigan team. One can see that he has done his best to move on, although I think its pretty clear that he really wanted that 4th year. Very competitive guy

We'll agree to disagree.

Please be true. Kid is

Please be true. Kid is extremely explosive and would be a playmaker from day one.

Basically feels like NCAA 11

Basically feels like NCAA 11 with minor tweaks. The tackling system is a little better, zone defense makes passing a little tougher, and shotgun running is more realistic.

Also, the quarterback doesn't have that stupid looking stance when he's in the shotun anymore, which makes me extremely happy. (I know, pathetic)

On another note, would any PS3 users like to create an online dynasty? I don't have the time to run it, but I would love to participate.

Not getting the game until

Not getting the game until probably tomorrow, but psn is RKLamb16. I would vote for format 2

Also, who are our impact

Also, who are our impact players, other than apparently Kovaks?

Watching that video, anyone

Watching that video, anyone else surprised our playbook is a pro-style offense? I thought for sure it would be multiple.

Love Justice Hayes's choice of number.

He just seems like a "5" kinda player

Wow, particularly impressive

Wow, particularly impressive when you consider we have to have the top linebacker class at this point as well.

My outlook is fairly simply.

My outlook is fairly simply. I hate to bring up Rich Rod again, as I know people are sick of hearing about him, but I believe he would have won 9-10 games this year, had we fully committed to him.

I believe you have to lower your expectations a bit with the scheme change, however I still expect us to be at least an 8 win team. I am behind Brady Hoke 100%, however I don't think we should give him a free pass on this year.

I think there's no doubt that

I think there's no doubt that the defense and special teams will be better than they were last year. The only way I see us going less than 8-4 is if the offense takes an enormous step back. I really hope this is not the case. I understand that the coaches want to run more of a prostyle system, and this is what they understand and have done for years. However, the iso play, and play action variant of it do not seem to be overly complicated plays. I would be extremely disappointed if we not take advantage of a large component of what was successful last year on offense.

Wow, I hope I'm not being

Wow, I hope I'm not being unrealistic, but people would really be content with a 6-6 or 7-5 season? With the B1G POY returning, the entire offense from an already potent unit, and basically every important contributor (except for Mouton) on defense returning, plus the return of our best DB...

I could be overly optimistic, but I would set 8-4 as the most probable outcome.

Well that would be extremely

Well that would be extremely disappointing if this were to happen..

Roundtree just has that

Roundtree just has that innate ability to get open. He's not particularly fast/quick/big, but he seems to always be in the right place.

Or anything remotely

Or anything remotely resembling a RR thread, as I recently discovered.

He carried the ball 6 or 7

He carried the ball 6 or 7 times in this game, and I envisioned him having a similar role to that of Harvin in the spread offense. However, Rodriguez really didn't utilize receivers in the running game anyway.

I remember watching this game

I remember watching this game and thinking that Manningham would be an absolute beast in Rodriguez's offense. It's a shame we didn't get to see that

Magnus, how would you rank

Magnus, how would you rank the possible defensive backs in order of your personal preference? (Including Reeves, Gant, Wilson, Standifer and Morgan)

These guys are unbelievable.

These guys are unbelievable. You can almost see it on their faces sometimes, like a "wow I can't believe he got to that"

I love Nadal. His game is so

I love Nadal. His game is so fun to watch. The only player I can't stand is Djokovic. He just seems like he never takes responsibility for a bad shot; its always the ball, or the surface, or his shoes...

Just curious because I've

Just curious because I've only recently gotten into tennis, but what don't you like about Nadal?

Gotta be heart breaking for

Gotta be heart breaking for Federer. He gave Nadal everything he had in this first set and still lost.

Although I too am extremely

Although I too am extremely pleased with the start to the Hoke era, I think it's definitely too early to pass judgement as to whether he was the "right" hire. In fact, I believe that sometimes you still can't judge a hiring even after the coach leaves. I don't consider Rodriguez to be a failure by any means; more of an incomplete.

However I will say that I am pleasantly surprised by Hoke's immediate success on the recruiting front. I just wish we hadn't had to take a step back on offense in order to take steps forward elsewhere.

Could you post a link to this

Could you post a link to this practice write up?

"Getting Michigan's offense

"Getting Michigan's offense to go from explosive but inconsistent to world-destroying is a matter of getting a kicker, finding a good running back, working on Denard's reads and accuracy, and leaving everything else the hell alone"

From Brian's front page post. I couldn't agree more with this. I know Rich Rod is gone, but I can't help the sick to my stomach feeling I get when I hear about our new offense. The way I look at it, upgrading our defense to a mediocre level and getting a kicker would have been far easier than installing a very likely less effective offense, and therefore needing far greater defensive improvement.

Sorry to break off topic a

Sorry to break off topic a bit, but does anyone have a video of the reaction at Crisler when Michigan was announced?
