IGBO KWENU!!! Name pronounciation for you guys: EE-KAY-CHU-KOO EE-WU-NNAH. Basically the W in first name is silent but otherwise surprisingly easy. MORE NIGERIANS, YES!!!
Stupid is as stupid does......sorry for the post, it was just a thought and hoped someone might be smarter than I apparently am and know whether Michigan is operating under more restrictions that others. Have a great one. I will now go back to reading the more thoughtful posts of others and leave this to the professionals like yourself.
It depends on what you own. As someone who works on the tenant side of things, believe me that there are plenty of commercial developers/landlords who are still doing pretty well.
You must not have been to Oakland in a while.....great restaurant and bar scene, beautiful neighborhoods in the hills. Still very tough areas for sure but it's kind of awesome actually. Will be the Bay Area version of Brooklyn soon. Housing prices all over Oakland are just on fire.
Good luck. I love the Bay Area. To each his/her own I suppose! I can't do winter anymore. Won't even visit back east between September and May! I drive to Tahoe a few times during the winter and see the snow, then drive back. That's enough for me!
As someone who negotiates real estate deals for another box retailer, we have been waiting for the Toys R Us boxes to come on the market and I would bet that this will accelerate that process.
Yes it is amazing. Will never leave if it is up to me! Cost of living and taxes are high but employers make up the difference and it is worth every dollar to me.
Understood. My wife and I have relocated 4 times since I graduated in 2003 and started my 1st job. We don't have kids so that makes it easy. However, I got a significant salary bump and a better job each time. I'm done moving now as we are settled in on the west coast (SF Bay Area) at a company I love that has great future opportunities and $$$. To move across the country for a pay cut and no job for the wife seems crazy to me. The only way it makes sense at all is if the career track in this position leads to something that wouldn't be possible at your current job or moving up would happen much more quickly.
If the company wants you they shouldn't ask you to take an 8% pay cut to move across the country, especially when your wife has a career as well. Will they at least pay to relocate you? This sounds like a loser to me and I'm not your wife.

Actually, they built the basketball arena on the land where the football stadium was. There were huge issues with traffic and parking that were creating issues in Oakland (part of Pittsburgh where Pitt is) that were causing problems for the university and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (now the largest employer in town and a cash cow for the university).
I personally believe the athletic department made a choice at that point that going "all-in" on basketball was the right move and football was a losing battle. It was a great on-campus stadium in an urban environment. As someone who watched games there as a kid, I was very sad when it was demolished and replaced with a cookie cutter, boring basketball arena. This was a football stadium with a great deal of history that was demolished without a second thought. I guess this is what happens when your college is in a pro sports city.
Thank you Mr. Beeks. As someone who grew up in Pittsburgh and lived in Cleveland for 3 years (thank god I got out 3 years ago) the thought of comparing Panini's to Primanti's made me throw up in my mouth.
Primanti's is the original and if you have ever tasted both, you know Panini's is trash.
What makes this even more interesting is that Dr Phillips is not some destitute small town with no resources. Orlando people can correct me if I am wrong but this high school probably isn't even that old and the area is not low income.
Okay, sorry for posting. This is why I rarely post. Apparently this was worse than: "Darius Morris=Butterfly" and "Are Players allowed to cheer/chant." At least I have a sense of humor! Let's see if I can get down to zero points in a single day! Thank you all for your support.
Excellent point. I think there would need to be a one-time right to terminate for cause say around 12/1/2011. If the university does not terminate, Rich can't be terminated due to anything from this specific NCAA investigation and must be bought out like any other coach at that point.
I am not a lawyer but negotiate commercial real estate transactions for a living. Not sure about coaching contracts, but often in leases the only items modified on an extension are the dates and possibly the rents by amending the current contract. You do have the option of doing an entirely new agreement, but typically this is not done since the vast majority of the language would stay the same.
I was there too. Have been to a few games there. The worst part for me was the replays on the scoreboard. They almost NEVER showed damn replays!!!! A great play would happen and the scoreboard would be showing some fool with a Halloween mask for the 20 seconds before the next play!!! That was really pissing me off.
If you don't see improvement in 500+ yards against the #4 defense in the country and a young defense that held its own for much of the game, you need to watch a bit more closely. Iowa is a very good team. If not for the -4 turnover margin (OUR TEAM IS YOUNG!!!!), we would have had a great chance to win.
Interesting, but I think Michigan winning affects our ability to recruit more than OSU losing. Recruits like winners, if OSU loses but we lose more, we are not improving our standing with these kids. We need to prove that our program is on the upswing and that we will be competing for championships. I think Coach Rodriguez has Michigan on the right track and it seems that the recruits are starting to recognize that. Go Blue!
Good one man. North campus was always odd to me. I was a freshman in 1999 and was one of maybe 20 Black people in Couzens. I went up to Bursley and all of the other Black people were up there. This was especially true of the kids from the Detroit public schools, I don't know if they all decided to put North Campus as their first choice for housing or what, but I never understood why anyone would want to live up there.
This was just terrible. Yes, it is Brian's blog and he can do what he wants but I can also comment that this is probably the least entertaining thing I have read on mgoblog while refreshing this page 60x a day for the last few years.
That said, I can't wait for the UFR to come out today! Thanks for your work Brian! I will drop a few bucks into Beveled Guilt if you promise to end this series now!
I think Martavious has a little bit of Steve Smith of the Carolina Panthers in him (5'9"/185lbs.). He is a small guy who plays much bigger than he is and carries a major chip on his shoulder. I like the move and think it can work.
I read that too. It is unbelievable to me that someone with such little knowledge is employed to write about Michigan football. Your job is to watch football and write about it, a dream job for many, and you can get something like that so wrong? Ridiculous.
A more interesting question English majors out there. "Close minded" or "closed minded?" I actually googled and it appears either can be used. That was all I could think of while reading this.
Considering that only 2 fullbacks were drafted in 2010 (5th and 7th rounds), he was originally a walk on (speaks to his athletic ability), and is in the first year of a position switch to linebacker, Moundros may be the least likely of any of the 2010 senior class to even be drafted at all.
I didn't want his response to be pushed all the way to the bottom by comments and for people to not see it. If you view comments by the newest comments first, you might not scroll all the way down.
Sorry to have disappointed you, I promise to do better next time.
You never know though, he may have a learning disability or something. Otherwise, I agree that this would seem like an extreme lack of motivation on his part.

I agree, I am useless today. Should have been smart and taken the day off, but that may have made today go by even slower if that is possible!!
Can Michael Jackson's doctor put me in a diprovan induced coma until 3:30pm tomorrow?
Thank God they started putting the alternate game on ESPN2. I would have been stuck with only UK-Louisville down here in Charlotte.

Yawn....How much more time until kickoff? I can't take much more of this. Try the Google machine to see if there is an answer to your question.

Darryl Stonum seems to have NFL level size and speed if he can put together a few productive seasons. He also has value as a return man.
HQ moved to Chicago after the Sears acquisition. Now the two are dying a slow death together.
