Definitely in! Will it have some empty pages for autographs like some real yearbooks? Would be cool if it could also collect player/coach autographs over the years in a dedicated section. Maybe multiple blank pages at the end?
Agree with this statement in the sense that it will ignite more passion into teams and the sport in general. I disagree that college football is “dying” but definitely think there is fatigue outside of a small percentage of teams. Most of my family is Badger fans. They all know they would likely never make the CFP when it was 4 teams. With the ranking system and limited quantity of games, losing a single game essentially eliminates 90%+ of teams. Then you look forward to a bowl game? That’s not a great outcome to create and maintain passion throughout the season let alone drive attendance and get butts out of sofas.
True except was he actually invited to interview? All ive seen is the MN gm talked to him then they immediatley set up second interviews. Rumored to MIA, second interviews set up.
Seems like a Harbaugh leverage play to me with no cause for panic at this point.
what's scary is to think about all that you outlined and how much better it looked than what the offense was before he was in. there will be growing pains but he brings a dimension of down field passing that had been absent for a month. cautious optimism, week to week growth and things will be much better going into the OSU game.
it's not suggesting Peters will fail. it's suggesting the douche bags who are quick to yell "UNACCEPTABLE" will immediately move on to dcaf which will undoubtedly happen at first sight of adversity or growing pains. whether you fall into that group out not, I dont know nor care. Or maybe you're just a dipshit on a blog reading into comments to fit your own agenda.
what do I have to back up? are you assuming my post was pro JOK or anti peters? it wasn't and I never said that. poking fun at all the livingroom coordinators and gms that know so much. some of you guys are real soft but makes sense why you're out demanding Internet praise.
I wonder too if they are simplifying the pass plays which is translating to quicker throws and open options. although jok may have just never seen the open options, there's that option.
but when you step back and consider the trajectory expected upon Harbaugh being hired, we are ahead of schedule.
I feel confident in the ol, wr, rb, dl, qb, te, and s position next year. lb needs to continue growth and young cb need to shine. we will be in the same position next year but oh st will be at home.
haha. down the stretch in tight games it always looks like inbounding is a new rule created midway through the game by the refs. guys are just running around while the guy with the ball is straight panicking.
yeah and all those girls who post pictures of themselves deserve to be harassed by creeps because it's the Internet.
nothing in my post is attached or comparing to Brian's post.
some of us "perverts" can handle looking at an avatar without spontaneously masturbating. or not even notice them at all.
I think you are an "inconsiderate jerk" because you drink coffee. there's no reason other than "I want to" and the result is your stinky coffee breath in meetings which offends me.
this is a fun game. by the end, everyone offends everyone and we all quit life.
relax. this isn't a live porno.
grow yourself some testicles and drink a Dr. J.
fill a cup with ice, half Jager half peppermint schnapps. sit back and slam that syrup until you don't feel feelings.
warning-side effects may include forgetting the previous semester.
or his boat, or his cool basement bar, or his personal financial investment in UM.
he's self righteous and sanctimonious. he's also very repetitive and consistent so his attitude should surprise no one.
After the Badgers loss to Northwestern, local radio shows were wondering if they should fire GA now to avoid a tailspin like they see at Michigan. They didn't want him to be their Hoke.
From what I hear from my relatives/friends is that they all think he is a great guy but the decisions he made during the LSU game, lack of M Gordon involvement in a few game strecthes leaves something to be desired. Some of them are waiting to judge him next year when he doesn't have Melvin Gordon to just hand the ball to and win by 35.
In the original thread i thought it was irrelevant and would have no impact on DB. I think that position is near impossible to defend if DB actually resigns today as it sped up the process at a minimum. Great work by the blog.
During our last coaching search, was the "insider sources" smoke around Harbaugh to UM this thick? Do you feel there is more validity to the sources, or just more quantity of people saying he ends up here? I'm trying to temper my enthusiasm but it feels too good after reading this...
I agree that "journalists" that ran with the story are idiots. I also agree with Brian's position that these are real. From the first national story the world had their chance to either accept or deny this information. They decided to accept that DB is an asshat as fact without coming back to question MGoBlog. No further verification required. Now it's just, look he's been an asshat for a long time and in multiple settings. Did anyone need this verification to want him gone yesterday?
john u bacon just ran a national article with a cited email exchange that already showed DB as an asshole. nothing further came of it. as pointed above, national media members already ran with this exchange before it was proved and it subsequently died. everyone has accepted he is an asshole.
there is literally no point to this "verification" (used loosely because the verifying is long in opinion and not fact) because it has no impact outside of this blog. was anyone from the outside world questioning mgoblog's ethics in reporting?
hot damn i want DB, and hoke, fired ASAP but this regurgitation of nonsense and irrelevance is starting to make me believe that this place is out of touch with reality and treading into the insane/obsessed territory where rational and logical thought is condemned if it doesn't fit the pandering narrative of the masses.
holy shit.
the host of the "eye on college football" radio program had an nfl "insider" on who said look for chip kelley and Greg schiano to be connected to the Michigan job (and FL). said people in nfl are saying kelley belongs in college and that he prefers it to the nfl. thought that was interesting since I've never heard anything about kelley moving from nfl considering his success.
with mullins record after his first four years, this board and fanbase would have run him out of town. there would be no fifth year. saying otherwise is lying to yourself.
I still like an incentive program for the students. show up on time to all the home games and you get the face value of the last home game refunded to you or applied to next year's season tickets or credited to purchasers at mden etc. it would be cheaper than lowering all student ticket prices and still motivate people.
the suite idea seems a little bit of a stretch. even though they are purchased by businesses they are often filled with regular fans.
was it confirmed that the click was supposed to stop? the exact same thing happened in the WI Northwestern game earlier that day. my dad and I were watching and were confused it didn't stop. then it happened in the MI game and I figured that was the rule.
sadly I doubt any AD in the country thinks like that regarding students. if you're going to alienate anyone, it's the group that has minimal disposable income. also consider students are essentially a conveyor belt bringing in new classes every year...in perpetuity. how is the current ADept alienating students?
my point of the questions was that I think it's obvious to me that the fire side chat is nothing more than a diversion tactic to relax the vocal group. which is why I wondered if anyone would not follow through with the protest. people are looking for a "good guy" to trust to do the right thing. the Pres said virtually nothing but generalities and people turn that into OMG schlissel is going to fire db, finally. most likely they are just pandering and "listening" until the torches and pitch forks are directed elsewhere.
1)people refer to the athletic department not connecting with the students, is this only a football issue or across all sports? I don't recall issues during basketball season.
2) wouldn't the student voice be the least important among ticket holders? they pay a discounted price and a portion rarely show up on time. we live in a revenue world.
3) will the results of the fire side chat change anyone's mind about attending the kick off protest?
didn't brian advocate a boycott of the entire game on senior day? I think the student letter got it wrong, mgoblog specifically advocates boycotting. just not the utl game because the blog has friends coming in from out of town (orson) and a cool party lined up. that's the hip thing about being outraged, it works best when worked into your schedule.
if he was hiding under his desk all day and avoiding all human contact, technically he may not have"known". plausible deniability my man. basically a defense for lying.
Brian's not the one that had to moderate you psychopaths late at night after a complete debacle. those voluntary night fighters are the ones that deserve the charity.
the University also wants revenue which is likely to dissipate based on results of the coaching.
that being said, I think brandon will give hoke another year and hide behind a new oc teaching his system.
I'm hoping miss st blows out lsu and sends them into a tail spin losing the next 7 games.
at no point today did I worry that Miami was going to win because their offense was horrible and our d shut them down. I mostly worried about the fact that mi looked like shit at multiple points of the game.
sometimes teams have hangover games from tough losses. maybe that's why they played so pelt in the first half. either way, realistically, this team is not close to elite. I'll put more stock in the Utah game to reforecast my season outlook than this game.
thankfully, this was not anywhere close to last years Akron or uconn.
I guess I was just trying to equate the level of poor decisions. people fight in college. if that occurred between two non-athletes one would be in trouble with the law and both would remain in school. from a football punishment perspective I can't say that what Glasgow did was worse than York simply because luck was on one person's side that day.
I find it interesting that more people weren't furious with Glasgow for driving drunk. there was a crowd that disdained the action but all the york threads have been filled with people ready to kick him out yesterday. funny thing is, if the jaw would not have broken it would be a minor issue. conversely, if Glasgow had crashed and injured someone that would have been a much bigger issue. I don't agree that punishment should be based on the result of a violation and not the violation itself. I also think people are quick to kick him out due to his level of contribution. the same thing the base rips on rivals and sec for. personally, I'd like to see York suspended for the entire year with a strict policy to get let back on the team. people make bad decisions and usually deserve a second chance to prove it was a mistake.
nba said it was zero tolerance. next time its on the player side, they have precedent for basis of punishment. I am all for the punishment on Sterling but punishment shouldn't be adjusted based on title or position.

Hire Chris Beard. He already paid his price for the domestic dispute. Ole Miss is not his long term home, MI bball would bounce back right away.

Question for you:
