Not a whole lot else frystrated fans can do. Personally I'm more of WTF, come one! than a booer but, we have been a frustrated fan base for a decade now. To make matters worse our conference rivals have been living the high life most of those years. I'm sure the players are just as tired of it as we are. They probably hear about it everyday, we only get it when we're wearing Michigan gear or diriving a car with a Michigan sticker. #Justwin

its real hard to read this quote and not think that UM fans are complete scum. I have never heard of this at any other big time program. Not to the point where the teams best recruit is quoting it to the media. Pathetic.

Often players do need a kick in the ass, particularly last year.  But do you honestly believe that players perform better when their own fans boo them?  If you're a Tigers fan, look at Nathan, Coke, Valverde, Inge, Raburn, etc.  Those guys sucked, got booed, and then ... still sucked.

The coaching staff  -- not us -- should be the ones providing a kick in the ass where one is needed.  No player is going to be positively motivated from a fan's boos.  Just look at Peppers' tweets, as well as similar comments made by other players last year.  These guys now believe they are competing not only against the opposing team, but against their own FANS, as well.

That's fucked up.

It should piss Jabrill off that the fans were booing the coaches, team, whatever.  At the end of the day though, this is Michigan, and the play and coaching was awful last year and warranted the booing.  The Minny game was where I heard the most boos, and those were totally justified.  If the team had played with the effort and heart they displayed at OSU, then there would have been no reason to boo.  Unfortunately the coaches coached like they had never coached a game in their lives, and the players just didn't get the job done, and players lacked effort in a number of games.  As much as the booing is not a thing I would condone, last year was worthy of a lot of boos.  Only thing I can say to Jabrill is that we all love Michigan, but we expect and demand greatness, play with heart and give everything you have and if we lose, we will be dissapointed, but we won't boo.  The last thing we need right now is more division, last year was last year, the fan base is finally together as it hasn't been in a long time.  I understand Jabrill's frustration, but it's a new day, so let's move on.

"They" may have been booing the regime, but u have to understand any time you're on a team that competes at a high level your mentality is that you're all in it together. In other words the players don't hear booing and think....gee they must be booing Brandon. They hear booing and and as far as they're concerned you're booing the whole team. Especially when it's going on during a home game you're losing.

some don't. some don't differentiate between themselves and their coach and no matter what take offense. So.....asshole booing fans.....here you have evidence from one of our highest rated recruits ever and a seriously gung-ho player separating himself from the fans and having a somewhat "us and them" outlook on things. Does that make you want to stop acting like spoiled 4 year olds? Maybe if we have a middling year this year and Peppers decide he isn't invested enough to stick around another year and declares for the draft you might think again? It matters when you boo....to players, to recruits...to everyone. Stop, because it doesn't help anything.

I think the only time booing is justified at college games is at the refs.  And when it does occur, it's almost always obvious THAT is what the fans are booing at.  The negative consequences of booing greatly outweigh any positive consequences, even if there were any.

Of course I did, but I didn't broadcast it to the world over and over, and I wasn't asked to be the face of a program.

It's not like I'm jumping on the kid for making one silly statement, this is becoming a pattern, and he insists on puting himself in the spotlight of every controversial subject... its just getting old. Play some football, prove something on the field, then run your mouth.

It's only perceived as a silly statement by the people who boo the team.  And quite frankly, those people are idiots.

I always laugh at assholes who do things like tell one of our most dedicated players to STFU because they don't appreciate what's being said.  "Hey please come to our university, but don't even think about speaking publicly or developing your own personality. Just be quiet, help win games, and make us money."

Well you're wrong because I've never boo'd the team. However, thats certainly the right of anyone who pays to see a game. Thats besides the point though

I laugh at pussies who get scared that a star player will get offended by what's said about them on a message board, but wouldn't give two shits if something was said about a lesser player or someone else who dedicates a part of their life/career to the program.

Not only unfair, in a vacuum this would be downright hypocritical... but there's context to consider here.

Part of which is the extreme incompotence leading our football program for almost a decade, and part of which is a kid who cries about athletes not getting paid, the espy's, hope solo, fans booing, and a gang of other petty issues that do nothing but put him ahead of the overall good of the team.

Like I said before, if this was the first time we heard from him it wouldn't be an issue, but its becoming a pattern, and I simply am tired of hearing it.

Dude, he's the only one doing this stuff and he's doing it all the time. Why is it that everyone else seems to handle themselves relatively well in the public spotlight/social media and he can't seem to?

Its not about thinking he/they should be robots, not even close, its about a kid taking offense to the fanbase that is in fact the reason he chose to come to Michigan in the first place. If 100K plus weren't filling that stadium for the last 40 years I doubt he would have selected A2 to play ball. He's not in high school anymore, his actions reflect on the entire UM community.
