Potty training boys. An older woman once gave me this advice. Target (and other stores) sell these paper squares designed to float in the toilet as the kid takes aim. Usually decorated with stars or other attention getting symbols, make it a game to see who can 'sink' the most. Worked for my kid, and it's worth a try.
As the late (not so great) former sparty coach Daryl Rogers once asked during his tenure as the Lions head coach: "How many games does a guy have to lose to get fired around here?"
Bobby Knight was a jackass as a basketball coach and as a person. Even his most ardent admirers will admit this. But he won games; so many Hoosiers either tolerated his behavior or looked the other way.
However I believe the worst legacy that he left behind was the fact that since he won games, his coaching style was emulated by many of his contemporaries. So many college coaches looked at Knight and figured this is the way to win games. Initially tearing down your players to the point of quitting by screaming at them during games and practices, physically grabbing them also during games and practices, and constantly bullying and berating officials during games for favorable calls. These were the methods most notable during Knight's era, coaches like Bill Musselman, Norm Ellenberger, Joby Wright, Dave Bliss, and countless others. I was thinking if that legacy still persists in the modern Big Ten, and the only coach I could come up is Tom Izzo. Anyone surprised?
As of this moment, tickets in the Mich sections are still available thru mgoblue.com. The other option is thru ticketmaster (higher fees). Or if you don't mind speculating, cheaper tickets will surely be available on the day of the game. Have bought and sold tickets at the Citrus Bowl in this manner in the past. Good luck!
Brooks reminds me of former Michigan guard Dave 'Superfro' Baxter (if you don't know who he is, ask your dads). Bax had a sweet lefty handle and was an excellent ball handler as well as a fine defender.
I've personally read every single one of the baseball books listed...yes, every single one! The best baseball book ever written (imo) is "Veeck-as in Wreck" by Hall of Fame owner Bill Veeck and Ed Linn.
Z is my choice as the 5th player to be on the court during winning time. The man's been a point guard all of his life and has been taking free throws in clutch situations since at least 6th grade (maybe even before!). He is used to the pressure. Once his mechanics are stabilized, he will be automatic.
In these types of cases, extra vigilance is needed by the court to discourage this type of behavior from happening.
Back in the late 1980's, I personally witnessed a similar incident. I was clerking for a judge in Wayne Circuit Court, and we were temprorarily assigned to Frank Murphy Hall of Justice for a criminal call. One of our fellow judges had a high profile rape case, and the defendant was found guilty at trial and being sentenced that day. At the time of the victim impact statement, the 16 year old girl was still too distraught to come to court so the judge allowed her father to speak on her behalf.
At that time, the witness podium that the father spoke from was literally about 24 inches from where the defendant sat with his attorney. The attorney was on the other side of the defendant, so the father and the defendant were literally within inches of each other. The father started out by saying what a scumbag the defendant was, how he hated him for stealing his daugher's innocence, etc. Then all of a sudden he pulled out a gun from his pocket and blew the defendant's brains out with a bullet to his head. The dad immediately dropped the gun, put his hands in the air, and said "Go ahead, arrest me". (This was in the early days of metal detectors, still don't know how he got the gun into court). If I remember correctly, the dad was charged and convicted of 2nd degree murder.
Actually, the Assistant Prosecuting Attorney who made the decision to not charge Appling/Payne in that 2010 rape incident is Debra Rousseau Martinez. She now works in MSU's Title IX Office. Her husband, Joel Martinez, currently works in the Ingham County Prosecutor's Office as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney.
I live in pontiac, and we are looking for a non-profit exactly like yours to build a community park in one of the most economically disadvantaged areas in the city (already have the land). Currently trying to raise $15, 000.00 to complete. Any ideas to help?
A few years ago, I digitally transferred all six games of the 1989 NCAA tournament that UM played in from the old vhs format. If you inbox me your email, I will send to you.
Pertaining to ND head coach Brian Kelly: as the late, great Daryl Rogers once said (when he was head coach of the Detroit Lions coming from Michigan St.)..."How many games does a guy have to lose to get fired around here?"
My favorite comment came from a Rutgers fan who attended the game and said: Every time I squint real hard, I look on the back of our uniforms and all I can see is "Chico's Bail Bonds".
Surprised that nobody has mentioned Sergeant York. Great war movie with Gary Cooper in the title role. Also The Best Years of Our Lives which depicts the plight of three soldiers after they return home. I believe both won Academy Awards for Best Picture.
I have an original program from every bowl game Michigan has ever played, starting with the 1948 Rose Bowl to last week's Citrus Bowl. Post 1975, most of them were obtained in person at the game. The only bowl game I don't have is the 1902 Rose Bowl. The last program I saw for that game went for over $20,000 in a Leland's auction about ten years ago.
As someone else replied, they are only worth what someone is willing to pay for them. There are a ton of Michigan programs out there.
My daughter just ordered our tickets (4). Was told no student id needed at the game, tix will be all together in the student sections. Couldn't tell her where that would be ahead of time. Ours will be mailed out from UM Ticket Dept. the week of Dec. 21st. Hope this helps.
I also attended the infamous 2000 Michigan-Illinois game at their place, the infamous A-Train fumble game. Other than the typical Sparty and Buckeye fans, it was the worst group of opposing fans I ever saw. Anyway, the very next day after that game, the Lions happened to be playing the Bears in Soldier Field. My buddies and I went to that game as well, all of us wearing our Michigan gear. In the first quarter, a drunken Bears fan and his friends started screaming at us that Michigan should have lost the game the prior evening. This rant went on until about halftime when I calmly turned around and yelled back: "Your great team gave up over 500 yards yesterday, including over 300 yards rushing. You didn't deserve to win shit." He looked at his buddies, and one of them replied: "Yeah, he's right". Shut them up the rest of the game (which the Lions won, incidentally).
That player wasn't a running back, it was QB Art Schlichter. Woody promised him if he came to OSU he would start immediately (which is what happened). When Schlichter (and his dad BTW) wanted the same guarantee from Bo, he was told he would have to earn it on the field.
At the very least, I'm hopeful that the conference can rescind Bolden's targeting penalty. It won't change the Sparty game, but rescinding it is important. Why? The next one, legitimate or not (kinda like Ross against Northwestern) against Bolden kicks him out for the year, I believe. If someone can verify or disprove, please do so.
Well it's refreshing to see that the Big Ten admitted the head referee made a mistake in informing Hoke that a timeout could not be used to put Gardner back in after he lost his helmet. What about admitting the mistake that the same head referee made when he didn't call the late hit by the Minnesota defensive end? He was standing about 10 feet away from the hit and still didn't call it! Is that referee going to be calling any Michigan games this year? He shouldn't be refereeing college football anywhere as far as I'm concerned. He should be fired for not knowing the rules and not knowing a late hit when said late hit is literally staring him in the face!
There is specific language in the MI FOIA law that exempts disclosure of information on criminal cases that are still 'under investigation' or 'open'. If they were investigated and closed without prosecution, they are fair game to be disclosed under FOIA. Also, the statute of limitations would likely cover most of the criminal prosecutions in this time frame as well, making prosecutions extremely unlikely and thus FOIA disclosable .

I bought a lifetime alumni membership and they allowed me to add my wife as well even though she graduated from Oakland University.
The alumni association sends them by email so I believe they are transferable. Not positive though.
Yes but that price also includes the tailgate at Dave and Buster's before the game. Those are over $100 just for that event.

Just looking at this lineup of nondescript bowl games and teams, I am reminded that we didn't even go to one of those fleabag bowls last year.

"Does that answer your question?"
