Anyone else on here remember the Michigan @ Northwestern game a few years back when they let all the Freshmen run on the field before the game? It was total bush league, and that's what this would seem like.
Plus it sounds like a major distraction for a young team that underperformed last year. I'd prefer they max out their allowed practice time without having to concern themselves with where thousands of students are loitering.
Win 10 games next year & no one will clamor for carnival tricks like this.
Just curious, when the team record is already sub par (and the only thing that matters or should matter), why do you consider this such a negative.
I say that as someone who is currently sitting at the 35 yard line & will enthusiastically encourage people to jump off the bandwagon until such time as I finally make my way to 50 yd line and never relinquish those tix until the day I die.
What time is the Q&A scheduled to start? Live in the city but work in the 'burbs, and Friday afternoon reverse commute is usually hellish, so need to plan a departure time.
Even if I was willing to consider the guy's argument, he lost me with the whining about the free donuts.
But seriously, complete lack of sympathy to the current students on all of their petulant whining. I attended every game as a student, was there early, and stayed until it was over. And found a bunch of friends who felt exactly the same way I did.
And when one of our friends left one game early in 4 years as a student, it was later commemorated for all eternity with a "gift" of a stadium brick listing the date, opponent and the inscription noting that he left the game early.
