I work in the Granger/South Bend area. A few weeks ago I was talking with a consultant to our company (an older ND fan and family friends with the Mattison family). He said Greg was ready to retire until Harbaugh requested he stay to help with the transition. The money wasn't bad, either. It sounded like he was seriously considering being done after this year.
Based on that (and nothing else), I think it would take some serious convincing to get him to stay. But you never know. A Durkin departure could change his plans.
I'm sitting here in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia trying to watch the GameCast on ESPN, the internet keeps cutting in and out, and the tracker was just stuck on 67-65... brutal! Finally I decided to just cruise on over here.
Bowl eligible!!! Now I can go to bed happy. Enjoy the rest of your college football viewing day, boys and girls!
I sat in on this panel at Comic Con. The cast and crew all seemed very excited about their work. I'm just glad this is a show and not a movie. The story deserves to be told over time, it's so complex. I anticipate this being my go-to show that will replace BSG.
Thanks for posting.
So, I've been knocking a few back tonight (which always softens my heart a bit), but I love our guys. Watching that first video is a perfect reminder of why I am as invested as I am. These guys are respectable. They seem like great guys who are in love with the game and know how lucky they are to be able to play the game at Michigan.
I couldn't be more excited for the season to start. Thanks for posting these videos!
Also, was that a half smile on the face of MRob?! Say it ain't so.
Zoltan will go to the future in which he has created bionic limbs for football players. He will bestow the great gift unto Hagerup in return for service in his space armada.
Also, he will try to bestow one unto T-Wolf as well. However, T-Wolf will decline stating, "Thank you, but no. I want to crush OSU, MSU, and ND with my own extremities next year."
This is all true. I read it on a tweet earlier today.
Let's force Brian to raise the levels!!!!!!!!!!! After this, everyone is going to be Double Secret Probation Elite First Class Executive Members of the MGoBlog community.
I'm giving you your point back with the point I earned from this post. (I also happen to agree that negging him/her was well worth it for me, too.)
To the OP: I wholeheartedly agree on your sentiments. And you're absolutely right that we will never know the impact Woolfolk would have made on the number of wins or losses. Now, all that's left is to support our guys the best way that we can.
Floyd and Christian, we're behind you and eager to see what you can do on September 4th.
Ok, so I love beer. Really love it. But I'm visiting just for the day tomorrow and I want to take home some collectables to remember my trip. Is this the right place to go? (To be clear, I mean Growlers, beer holders, etc.)
I didn't want to start a thread, but I'm glad this one was started at the same time that I will be in town. (Visiting from Cali.)
Thanks for any advice you guys and girls can give me. Great to be back in God's country, btw.
Oregon has many, many fine beers. I wholeheartedly agree with you on that point.
However, I'd also want to play SDSU, in that case. I've been in southern California for the last six years, and I would hate to ever move, if only for the fact that I'd be moving away from some of the best breweries in the world (especially if you like IPAs). San Diego is my new Mecca.
Man, Patrick is just a very friendly, down-to-earth guy. I feel this is a consistent trend in the guys that RR is recruiting. Not only do they have such great potential and skill, but they seem like great guys who want the best for their team. I can't wait to see what Patrick can do this year.
Thanks for posting the video in non-apocalypse format, by the way.
I remember that being the case, as well. He said he enjoyed the classes. Maybe he made the switch recently. He wouldn't be the first college student to change his major. I think I changed mine twice.
It was actual video footage panning up from his boots to his helmet/mask. It just looked unfinished to me.
Aaron Eckhart would have been a fantastic choice, but only if he bulked up quite a bit.
I should also mention that they showed us a clip of Hugo Weaving as a German soldier that was pretty intriguing. He plays the Red Skull. (Admittedly, I don't know that much about the Captain America storyline.)
They showed a (very!) brief shot of Evans in the suit, and I thought it looked pretty goofy. However, they did say that they were still in the process of doing "costume rehearsals".
He also doesn't seem serious enough for the role. We'll see, I guess.
I was one of the nerds in attendance at ComicCon last weekend. After the Thor panel, they brought out the entire cast of the Avengers - Downey Jr., ScarJo, Sam Jackson, Chris Evans, etc. It was pretty cool to see them all up on stage. There was a huge nerdgasm that wasn't reported on tv. Joss Whedon was with them, too.
EDIT: Also, for those who aren't keeping up with casting news, Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker) is set to play Hawkeye, and Mark Ruffalo is the new Bruce Banner now that Ed Norton is out.
Your last line says it all. You're not hurting anybody, and as long as your wife-to-be is cool with it, then it doesn't matter what your premarital counselors think. If they have some good advice, by all means, take it. Otherwise, continue celebrating Saturdays as they were meant to be celebrated.
I used to live in Spring Lake as a kid, which is next door to GH. Things I remember: The Clover Bar for pizza, and The Front Porch for ice cream. No idea if it's as good as I remember. Hope that helps.
Thanks for the info, Tom. It makes sense, since his dad lives in the area. I don't blame him. The nice thing is, we are in good standing with several OL prospects. Hopefully, we'll pull some in soon to bolster our next class.
After taking Tate and Denard, then Devin, I really like this guy. I hope he decides on us. He seems solid, like he wants to play at Michigan. If we land him, I'd be excited. Its appears that we're developing quite the depth chart at QB. I like his size, too. The QB position is looking good for the future.
In other news, the season is way too far away. Each day feels like an eternity. The food and drink menu for the season start is growing tired of being reworked.
I love that she was picking her zits during that shot. Congrats. Forever immortalized as the girl who was nervously picking her zits in dazed disbelief. Now, everyone who watches this classic game from here to eternity will remember her at that moment.
EDIT: My apologies for a wasted post. Njia commented on the infamous zit-picking before I did.
I'm planning a trip to AA in August. I haven't been there since I was in junior high and I thought of posting a thread for suggestions as the trip drew closer. This is a great start. Thanks.

Was it at Fleming's, by chance? Because they have some phenomenal creamed corn.
Yes
His eyes have a look of sheer terror. I could not imagine what he must have been feeling right then.
Good thing we pulled it out! He can rest easy tonight, even though I'm sure he'll never forget that moment.
...and I approve of this message.
Did the beaver make his/her appearance today? No?
Maybe that was the problem...

...awesome. Great job on this.
I think he has a rash on his face. It looks awfully itchy...
EDIT: Oh dear God, the rash has now spread to his shoulder!!! Run, guy with stupid 'Kelly' t-shirt, run!!!
If I were you I'd look over my shoulder, because Harvey Keitel is not to be fucked with.
Dude, they won't let you drink in the hospital.

Did we just become best friends?!
Last year's game against ND is scheduled to run after it, as well.
Even Johnny is way too good for State.

I'd buy that shirt, even though those Gildan shirts shrink to a Baby Gap T after one wash. Hook it up, UGP!

Well done. I'm glad you decided to finish it. I'm gonna go punch something for fun.
Just when I was starting to learn my lesson and be less selfish with my points?!
Oh well, I will also +1 everyone on this thread as a celebration of our liberation! Hoorah!
Keeping scheming, RR!

but isn't the staff that turned Mundy around now working at Michigan? Admittedly, I don't know if this is the truth or not.

A Senior Denard Robinson? Epic indeed.

Not sure if this is sarcasm, but it was a four or five minute clip of the movie.
I'm getting the feeling that it was sarcasm, though. Maybe my detector is faulty.

Now that I'm reading HTTV I'm starting to ease back on the sleepless nights.
That's a great shot of Woolfolk. I want all of our D, not just our Spur, to get their meat raw.
I really like Bourdain's humor at times.
Thanks for pointing this out, M-Wolverine. I'll schedule it to record right now.
I used to really love the summer months as a kid. Now, they just feel long and drawn out, torturous.
I can't wait to see RVB and the DLine take over this year.
I think the reason you were negged is because you can't bind dilithium. Therefore, "Dilithium Unbound" is nonsensical.

5) Platoon
4) Tears of the Sun (Not really a war, but guns were involved. So... yeah.)
3) Saving Private Ryan
2) The Last of the Mohicans
1) Glory
Honorable Mention: Band of Brothers (Since it's not a movie.)

What's wrong with that dude's hair?
[Note: I'm 31, but now that I just typed that, I feel so much older. Actually... I'm okay with that. His hair is ridiculous.]

A 12'5" 420 lb. linebacker? I like the sound of that. Then we'd have two Hulks on defense... at least for one season. This idea is full of win.

Also, I'm very hungry now.
