and the team went undefeated Gorgeous Al would still be here
he was at a time a quality OC - he had a very bad year last year and he was let go
the whole philosophy thing will only be brought up in the context of a loss - and we lost a ton last year - so we brought it up a ton
if we have a solid UofM year (9-3 and up) there won't be as much belly ache about the philosophy of the offense (no matter what we do - lateral farting including)
This is were we're at: trying to figure out exactly which things we took for granted for 40 years are real assets and which are replaceable.
I do think the 'manball' thing can work. I don't think UofM can become a spread program. I know there are arguments both ways, but I believe the path to success goes through a strong Defense and a competent Offense.
Real Asset - Top 10 D
Replaceable - September / October Heisman Candidates
because if they were to add beer it would be b/c they focused entirely on the added revenue beer sales would provide & THEY PAID NO ATTENTION TO THE ADDED COSTS BEER SALES WOULD INCUR
after sitting in the sun for 3.5 to 4 hours drunk people tend to either sober up or fall asleep.
Continuing to drink means people stay drunk or get even drunker
(this is why they cap alcohol sales in major league venues)
People who are really drunk tend to do stupid things
Also - every major sporting event has fights and problems, but they love the $ so they continue to sell
UofM athletics are supposed to be non-profit, let's explore whoring ourselves out in other ways before we open up the floodgates to alcohol fueled mayhem
Need to go to the O - but those are pretty much limited to like 1 or 2 guys a year. Everyone else would be better served in college. Of course there are some people who just aren't 'college guys'
I wonder what the US basketball scene would look like if the NBA "D" league accepted 18 year old kids. I don't think its a stretch to say some of the one and dones just aren't 'college guys'
No disrespect to people who aren't 'college guys' there are plenty of ways to make a living without a college degree - college is just not for everyone

hope uofm gets an early lead and hoke's refusal to wear anything plugged in during the game saves him from being electrocuted
thanks - that actually looks kinda cool
start with dave brandon -
then move on to hoke
then fire the guy who plays is in charge of the game day experience in the big house
Our offense will be very QB centered this year
If he uses #98 like a video game player and UofM has a huge year he may well bolt for another job.
Hard to say if his success is b/c of Gardiner or b/c he knew what he was doing.
literally every other college FB coach has people (lots of them) in their fanbase saying if they don't win soon they should be fired
how do you think SC feels right now about the 'ole ball coach?
or simply predictability
'nuss cannot allow the offense to be 1-dimensional and staid
it needs to constantly adjust and reinvent itself - while mainting true to its core plays
not an easy thing to do

i am not sure if you know or not, but there is a football game on October 25th in East Lansing between UofM and MSU
fine american composer
fanfare for common man is also very good
but I think you are talking about parity

someone who is wasted will not sober up & you never know how alchol will hit you
I am not trying to be a prude - i love to have a good time
but there are so many other places to do it
part of the tradition of UofM football is passing it down to your kids
I really don't need my kids to see out of control drunks
not trying to be a prude - i love having fun and getting rowdy - but there are so many other places in the world to do this

there is plenty of alcohol in / around the stadium and Ann Arbor
selling it would just be a revenue grab and lead to so many more problems
didn't get that one
How can Funk be worse than last year? Honestly it's impossible.
So if Hoke didn't fire him last year, why would you fire him in 2015?
If O-Line is as terrible as last year's tire fire, then Hoke will be gone in 2015.
You can't say that you are all about pounding the football and running downhill and have multiple negative rushing yard games.
If that is your identity - you have to perform to it.
probably
Honestly that leaves me even more confused!
?
my only worry is that after tearing them down, does Hoke have enough time to build them back up?
Wouldh't this excercise been better suited for the spring game?

So do you believe the DC was intentionally more aggressive in his playcalling than the OC?
The OL needs work against everything and has yet to master the basic, so the DC pulled a lot out of the bag and the OC kept it vanilla?
Very curious as to what the OL and the offense look like against a real opponent.
so awesome on so many levels
today we call 'em buses
But to beat a dead horse a bit more -
how well we do in 2014 will go a long way in determining what kind of recruits we will get
you know the google guy
?

now biga
but that was one fine Italian place - and classy as well
no way they would have allowed him to cause a scene (he would have gotten a special table in the kitchen)

Cincy and Air Force at home plus the big 10 slate
MSU / Rutgers / Minny / Ohio State
Should be an interesting season but only 6 games
Would have preferred this game during a 5 home game B10 season
didn't realize that
I like the idea of night games, but does an awesome night game make the noon start vs. "MAC Regional School A&M State" that more boring?
I hate seeing huge swaths of the student section empty
Not sure they are related, but that game vs. Akron had horrible visuals to a TV audience
huge revenue source for the league
Don't count out the Leaf fans
you may be right about historic michgian stadium attendance, but this game has a wildcard
CANADIANS! (blame canada)
but I remember some of the crazy games I went to in school
Jay Riemersma was special and the exception not the rule. He blocked and caught waggles. Not even in the same receiving category as Funchess.
Also, Riemersma was next to John Runyan and had RBs who could block behind him
Funchess could be regarded as one of the greatest if not the greatest TE in the history of UofM by the time he leaves in 2yrs.
What kind of person would write a crazy diatribe which gets nasty and personal and sign their name?
Usually isn't that kind of an email anonymous?
the lead up to that game started in October
EMU needs something - if you are going to lose you might as well lose with STYLE!
according to the paper
since 1969 osu has not beat UofM by more than 11 points in ann arbor
& this is awesome for Michigan
FERGODSAKES!
seems like a lot
red has 752
needs a few more years to catch ron

waiting to go to the waffle house?
why didn't they just go? I mean is it ever a bad time for chicken and waffles?
miggy at 3b fielder at 1b
can't be a corner infielder and play in the majors
if he can botch a fly ball into only a 1 base error he is ahead of delmon young
anyone else notice the 461' sign on the wall?
461" to center field would be one heck of a shot
