Definitely agree on point #2. Was down there for the 2012 Natl Champ game, and it was an amazing atmosphere with gorgeous girls. In addition, MSU needs to send a few of their bros down to Lexington to learn a thing or two about rioting. Watching two guys carry an already on fire couch to the middle of the street and then being chased away by a phalanx of riot police was definitely entertaining. |

Posting for a friend who is too lazy to get an account. "I went to undergrad at Michigan, and I'm now in a PhD program at Harvard, which involves me teaching undergrads. Kinda seems like a lot of these comments are pure speculation, so let me weigh in. The dumbest kids at Harvard are smarter than the dumbest kids at Michigan. The smartest kids at Harvard are not smarter than the smartest kids at Michigan. So yeah, the kids you meet at Harvard will on the whole be smarter and ultimately more successful than your peers at Michigan, but the latter is largely a result of the totally irrational value placed on a Harvard undergrad degree by people who just don't know any better. I feel qualified to say this -- the quality of instruction is absolutely not better at Harvard, and in many cases, it's worse, given that faculty are under much greater research pressure and have much less incentive to pay attention to their undergrads. If your daughter absolutely knows that she wants to go into finance or consulting, she should go to Harvard. If she has any other interests, she's probably better off avoiding the grade-grubbing hoop-jumping conformists that mostly populate Harvard. If Harvard has taught me anything, it's that you can't underestimate how much college would absolutely suck without a good football or basketball team." |

So very very wrong. Granted, I should give them another try since they came out with their Bigs, but Potbelly's used to have the tiniest sandwiches. What am I supposed to do with a 7 inch sandwich? And where is Quizno's on the list? So from my outdated rankings it goes Jimmy John's > Quizno's > Subway > Potbelly's If we had more Penn Stations around AA, I'd be a happy guy. But Dibella's and Mancino's would rank ahead of all of these. |

I saw it last night, and I actually thought it was pretty funny. Parts of it were very predictable, but still very entertaining. Don't trust my take on movies though as I have never seen any of the Dark Knights, Ironmans, etc but I did see Olympus has Fallen and Battleship and thought that those were awesome. |
| 8 weeks 2 days ago | Well when they moved hockey |
Well when they moved hockey to GA last year, it was hinted to me that football was headed that way too. If only more people had complained with me about hockey going GA this would've been avoided. Luckily I am finally graduating, and won't be around to witness this clusterf*** next year. Good luck students, sorry to you upperclassmen. |

Mind me asking which bar that was? Odd, didn't notice that happening at Charley's. A buddy and I actually went to Lexington last year for the natl championship game, and it was a great time. We were there just for a good old fashioned riot. It lived up to expectations. |
| 12 weeks 2 days ago | The word failure is enough. |
The word failure is enough. This team is not a failure, nor is the season. The season may not be up to Michigan hockey standards, but 8-1-1 in the last 10 games, a streak that most teams would die for. Ran into a hotter/better team, and the season came to a crashing halt. Sadly for you, I do teach, and I would at no point call any one of them failures. I'm glad Brian can sit behind a keyboard and blog about how the team is a failure. I come here solely for the news as it is by far the fastest Michigan sporting news aggregate. |
| 12 weeks 2 days ago | This team clearly had |
This team clearly had chemistry issues at the start of the season, but put it all together towards the end and really gave it their all down their stretch. The look on some of those players'' faces after the game Sunday was heartbreaking. To call the team a failure is a crime. I hope you never coach a youth sports team ever. What a joke of a statement. Embarassing. *Did not read the article, the post title was enough for me. This is why I stick with the board and rarely touch the front page. Trash like this. |

So I'm the only one that had Georgetown winning it all? This is what I get for waking up at half and seeing this run. This March madness is making me the butt of all jokes. |

They do but it's password protected. Last year I managed to grab the wifi password, but no longer remember it. Also they say over the phone that you cannot bring an iPad in, security let me bring it right on in anyways. |

| 22 weeks 6 days ago | I'll admit it. We went down |
I'll admit it. We went down to Ole Miss in the 2011 season to see what all the hoopla was about. It defeinitely lived up to the hype, and I highly suggest anyone able to to make the trip. Tickets are very, very cheap, for great seats. Also, not only are the girls as gorgeous as the ones you google, but the tailgaters are super friendly. Invited into a few tailgates to eat and drink as we please, and stopped by numerous other fans just to chat. Of course there were the jeers and the like, but nothing harsh. In addition, we even saw another group of Michigan fans from afar. Make the trip! |
| 26 weeks 5 days ago | We (Cubs) were the first team |
We (Cubs) were the first team to offer Sanchez 5 years from what I heard. Tigers had been hoping to stick at 4 years, but the Cubs offer of 5 years 75 mill, and eventually 5 years 77.5 mill is what made the Tigers up their offer. |
| 27 weeks 6 days ago | Actually heard about the |
Actually heard about the place, and heard great things. Sadly they're closed on 1/1 and 1/2 I believe for the holidays. And on 12/31 they're throwing a NYE party, which I believe is sold out. |
| 27 weeks 6 days ago | Perfect comparison |
That was precisely the comparison that we were looking for. we were at Jacksonville landing for nye two years ago and loved it. are the nye celebrations in Jacksonville landing and channelside similar? Basically does it have beer and shot stands all around with live music and fireworks off the bay? beer stands are very important to our group. |
| 27 weeks 6 days ago | Thanks for the advice so far |
and keep it coming! We've got rooms reserved both downtown and Ybor City so far, and will end up cancelling one as soon as we decide where to spend most of our time. We hadn't really considered St. Pete previously, but will take a look into it. Keep the tips/advice coming please! |
| 27 weeks 6 days ago | 23-25 year olds. |
Probably should have mentioned that we're all recent graduates between the ages of 23 and 25. But we're open to a variety of things, and even family friendly events would be appreciated for others on the board. If anyone has experienced NYE at the Channelside Plaza specifically, an opinion on that would be very useful also. |

Michigan student here, and randomly love University of South Carolina with no affiliation to it at all so I decided to donate there this year. My ideal matchup, even considering sitting in the South Carolina section. |

| 29 weeks 3 days ago | Such nice fans |
after the game, at least 5 groups of OSU fans told us to "Drive home safely!" Such nice people. But in all seriousness, before the game everyone was very cordial, the most harsh words were said right outside the stadium right after the game. And the 40+ year old drunk women are by far the most annoying. I found the crowd this year to be much nicer than 4 years ago when I went previously. |
| 36 weeks 5 days ago | Slightly off topic, but why |
Slightly off topic, but why did we get the noon start on Sunday for game 2? I thought we'd get a 4 PM at least to make it an afternoon game for the Oakland fans. Now I have to leave Purdue at 5 AM to rush back to Detroit to go to the game. Jerks. |

Thinking about taking my Indiana Fever warmup jersey, throwing on a wig, and going as a WNBA player. Great way to half-ass a costume. |

| 41 weeks 3 days ago | Cowboys Stadium Experience Sucked |
The Cowboys Stadium experience in general was awful. We had purchased a parking pass in advance for one of the Cowboys Stadium lots that were to open at noon, but since the lot had a SINGLE cashier that did not show up our crew of four cars weren't able to get in until 12:30 or so. Not a huge deal, but an easily solvable problem, by having multiple people you trust with money, or your workers show up on time. In addition, after the game we had an event staff worker as we were exiting back to the parking lot tell us, completely unprompted, that it must have sucked watching our asses get kicked like that. Real classy Texas. On the other hand, not a single Bama fan talked trash to us or got in our face after the game. All very respectful people. Newfound respect for the Bama fanbase. |

Probably the stockyards, maybe. |
| 42 weeks 5 days ago | The rules |
No, and if a parking spot is reserved for the employee of the month, I definitely will park there as it is for someone else. Do you take an unchained bike off a rack because it is there? An unclaimed seat is not yours to take, do not take it. |
| 42 weeks 5 days ago | Student tickets are still the |
Student tickets are still the entire (east?) side of Yost, with some spillover in a corner of the west side for freshmen if there was high demand. However, they moved the visiting team's parents to the opposite side from the student section and towards the goal line thus making it difficult to actually engage them (with the exception of the one and only shark that decided to eat a couple parents during a drunken rage). They actually moved Michigan's parents down to center ice on the student side for a while, but last year they relegated them to random corners of the arena. The nice seats in the first couple rows behind the Michigan bench we were told were given to sponsors. I had the luck of being the fourth row behind the Michigan bench right before the aisle way, so even though those first few rows behind the Michigan bench are empty, do not sit there as I like to stretch out, and I will call an usher on you (general statement to all the students who think an empty seat means that it's for them to take). Sorry. |
