As an Eagles fan from Philly I can tell you the majority of the fanbase think of BG’s strip sack as the biggest play in Eagles history. Not the Foles “Philly Special” play. He’ll be loved in this city forever.
Yes there was a court at the Vet. There was initially a court in Lincoln Financial Field but they did away with it within two years of the opening of the stadium due to a dramatic improvement of fan behavior.
Of course there are a lot of moron Philly fans as there are in every city. I would say we're just extremely passionate about our teams. The national media overplays the behavior of the fans because they have no clue. They still bring up things that happened in the 70s and 80s at the Vet. I don't think we're any worse than most cities. Just overly passionate and a bit impatient. For the record I'm not one of those people who thinks he's a bust. I've seen every game he's played college and pro and know what the guy can do.
And Dion you're right it's about time I change to a new Wire reference. Best show ever by the way.
Did 4 players get suspended before the game or what? Excuse my ignorance if I'm an idiot (excessive beer consumption) but I did not see Cam Gordon, Tay Odoms, BWC, ...? I got a text from a friend that guys were suspended and I'm making an assumption based on my observation. Any info? Again my bad if I missed this posted somewhere but i'm lazy and don't feel like searching.
Have lived in Philly my entire life. It's definitely a great time to be an Eagles fan. The season can't come soon enough. High expectations to say the least. Hopefully BG can come off the PUP list sooner rather than later to help them make a run.
I'd have to go with Penn State. Joe Pa is a legend and it's my home state. Not too much to hate about that program. However, I do love when Michigan kicks the shit out of them so I can shit on all of my brutally annoying PSU fan friends.
He isn't perfect but he definitely doesn't deserve a lot of the criticism he gets. Although it is a bit overblown by the national media. I've lived in Philly my whole life and McNabb has his fair share of critics but I would say the majority of the fanbase here appreciated him. Bernard Hopkins has always hated McNabb. For some reason he thinks he has no heart. B Hop is a total moron and I can't stand listening to his idiotic comments.
I was wearing my Jalen Rose jersey on the beach in Costa Rica last month and got a Go Blue as well from a local Costa Rican. I usually run into a few Michigan fans everytime I'm down there but they are usually just Americans on vacation. Either way I always find it really cool to run into fellow fans in other countries.
The size of that dude is just nor fair. He looked like a bear sifting through the trash out there. But the trash cans were offensive and defensive lineman and his meal was QB's & RB's. Love it! Coaches, put the full court press on this dude and his friend asap.
Hopefully it's not a torn labrum. I'm going through that recovery right now and it's not fun. They say it's a minimum 6 month recovery but everyone's body is different. I wish him luck and I hope it's not too serious.
do us all a favor and GFY! I'f I'm not mistaken the weather in Bolivia varies quite a bit from city to city but I'm hoping you're stuck somewhere freezing your balls off. What a dildo way to start your life on the board.
But at the next level he looks like more of an RB to me. He actually kind of reminds me of (ear muffs) Dee Hart just by his frame and his running style but probably not as fast. He can lay the wood too...and that's always nice to see. Go get him Coaches.
Honestly the first thing I look for when I access the site (which is about 30 times a day) is anything related to recruiting or anything written by Brian. They do an excellent job.
The fact that we are saying save room for OL, DT, K, QB is amazing. Last week we were worried about finishing with a class of 13 if that. Looks like this staff is making some serious progress on the recruiting trail already. Loving it!
Hoke has definitely impressed me so far. His enthusiasm and how he's handled himself thus far have been refreshing. People can say that it's all just PR all they want but he seems like a genuine dude to me. If he has the respect of all of his former players and coaches, he certainly has mine. Preaching 'Team' and 'Toughness' is the attitude you need to have. Hopefully he can have some success in these last couple weeks of recruiting and then carry that success over to the field.
we could hire Lou Holtz. It would be at that point that I would probably be seen roaming the streets of Philadelphia talking to myself similar to that of John Nash in A Beautiful Mind.
to hire a new coach who will get Michigan football back to where it belongs. I'm pretty sure the fanbase is secondary on his mind right now. He is too smart of a guy to not have a well thought out strategy. What it is I don't know and neither do any of us but it's fun to talk about.
and the defense got progressively worse. I get it Rich Rod is a great guy and a very good offensive coach but some people need to face the damn facts. He does not know or seem to give two nuts about defense. As a head coach that is absolutely unacceptable! I know most fans are aware of this but maybe some people forgot our defensive rankings the past 3 years:
Total FBS Big Ten
2008: 66th 9th
2009: 82nd 9th
2010: 110th 11th
That is a total joke! A 3 - 3 - 5 in the Big Ten??? Come on now . Hoke, Miles, anyone who knows a lick about defense will be a step in the right direction for this program.
You are correct. This injury is much worse for a QB then an OL. For what it's worth I currently have a torn labrum and it's virtually impossible to throw a football, or anything for that matter, with any kind of velocity. I can't throw anything more than 10 yards without significant pain. I guess it depends on the severity of the injury but I definitely couldn't imagine a QB at that level trying to play through that injury. It's not just a matter of pain, when you bring your arm back in a throwing motion it feels like your shoulder pops out of place. If it's a serious tear a QB could not play through that.
Driving up to Happy Valley from Philly. There are about 20 of us who rented a house for the weekend. Tailgating all day Saturday. More PSU fans with us then M fans but at least there will be a few of us busting their balls all day. GO BLUE! The tailgate scene there is the real deal!
the bottom line is this guy is a horrendous linebacker. One of the worst I've ever seen. It's almost as if he's running around blindfolded. I feel like his football instincts are non-existent. But it's not just him...I've never seen so many bad pursuit angles taken in one game. It's mind boggling. Hopefully the young guys keep learning and improving. It starts with the fundamentals. Someone better teach them and quickly.
I like Penn State -14. It's in Happy Valley and Temple will not be able to move the ball against that D. Temple has played well but they will not cover that spread.

As a fellow Eagles fan I tend to agree here. Doug Pederson was a great leader of men but his ability to call plays was certainly not a strength.
However, Magnus also raises a valid point that this Eagles team was crushed by injuries and also poor personnel decisions.

Michigan 26 Nebraska 20
So no Wisconsin for the next 4 years?

Well done. I think we need to have someone sing those lyrics overtop that music and post it on here. Any takers?
One more day!

"Minor Rage" and "Prison Abs"
but he looks like Tommy from Shawshank to me. Welcome Shane!

Great post Brian. I think there is a decent chance this defensive line can be solid this year....especially with Mattison at the helm.

Lloyd Brady is a legend.
Kellen Jones and Antonio Poole if I had to choose. Their films impressed the shit out of me. But I'm excited about all of them.
Spreadguru Is Ass Pirate.
But this is one of the weirdest ideas ever.

As do i. We have a nice situation on our hands with all of these capable backs.
So I was negbanging this girl last night....wait what?

Kellen's in now who is next? I'm going with Stefan McClure. Keep 'em coming.

straight to hell or prison. Let's see if he can avoid the sack in the joint. Can't stand that piece of shit.
Corsendonk Christmas Ale.

This Jerrod Johnson guy is good! Strong arm, accurate, athletic. No Denard obviously but still a good looking QB. Big 4th down stuff! Great game!
I'm currently drinking the Dogfish Head Punkin Ale. It's pretty damn good. I also just had the Saranac Pumpkin Ale... also very tasty.
Go Blue!

Lou Holtz, what a bumbling slurring asshole! He should not be allowed on TV.
