Mount St. Mary's hired a private equity CEO to be their president. You'll never guess what happened next.
Who ordered the bathtub mint julep?
Nothing wrong with doing the Dew
switching to pilsner urquell
Fing Diet Dew for my fat ass.
Damn New Year's resolution. Stupid calories in Mtn. Dew, nectar of the gods...
thats rough, diet. mt dew is one of the worst diet sodas
Really? That's the only diet drink other than diet A & W Root Beer I can drink. All the rest taste like crappy to me.
Diet Dr. Pepper has more taste!
the Diet Dew. Im a skinny person so I have no problem with regular, but I drink diet at times as well.
Was it Gatsby?
Damnit what a tease. I was really hoping to see a bathtub full of mint julep. That said I will be drinking alot in a little just dont know what yet.
Sangria doesn't count and even if it were that lady is scaring me.
At least she appears to be following OSHA sanitation standards
Sam Adams Boston Lager
+1 based solely on your avatar even though I have no problem with ur beer selection.
On your beer selection and your avatar.
Dr. Pepper. It is my night to stay up with the newborn.
You mean drunk child care is frowned upon? Damn...
It is when it's a future recruit. Daddy is having a Crown & Coke. Yes, Sdentuco is my wife, sorry Kass she loves the blog.
First (open) MgoMarriedCouple possibly?
I bet it was a beautiful MGoWedding
Trick question...Everywhere Lloyd Brady goes, he's the best man!
I thought we were gonna be first :(
Dark Blue or Dark Blue's avatar?...or is Dark Blue's avatar actually Dark Blue?...I don't know...anyway congrats she's HAWT!
Hey, no neg banging between you two! There are kids on this site.
Oh No, child care is the perfect time to mix up an Irish Cradle Bomb. A half pint of Guinness, shot of Bailey's, shot of Jamison, and 2 shots of breast milk. Drop in and slam.
Just read that to my wife. She laughed. Thank you for that.
and a dash of sweet vermouth.
Give Woodford Reserve a try some time
Had alot on a plane one time. Good decision.
I don't drink a lot of bourbon, so it'll be awhile (Just picked up this bottle of black tonight), but I've heard good things about Woodford Reserve, and I ALMOST grabbed a bottle of that instead. Zeiler's had Jim Beam Black a little more reasonably priced.
I used to drink Jim and Jim Black all the time, but lately I've been hooked on Crown. Crown and sprites all night r always a good time.
Crown and coke with a dash of grenadine.
+1 because I can't +45
Good lord yes.
Seagrams 7 honey whiskey...the label was enticing...
One of my favorite Simpsons of all time. I taped it on VHS in the late 90s and watched at least ~30 times afterwards.
Rex Banner. So good. That and the Hank Scorpio You Only Move Twice episode and my favorite.
I was always partial to the episode where they snuck in to Shelbyville to steal back the lemon tree.
"Remember, if you get lost, you can always find east by looking directly at the sun."
Oh, and Kronenbourg for drinking...
Well you all know what laughter sounds like!
This will be the funniest thing you read after drinking a bit, take my word.....had to share.
Man I can't stop laughing +1 +1 +1 wow hilarious thank you.
Edit: I just read it again and I still can't stop laughing and I'm sober. I need to go drink and come back in 2 hours and watch it again.
and I cannot in good concience disagree with your statement, sir. You shall recieve no less than one MGoPoint for your troubles. I do implore you not to spend it all in one establishment.
OMG, I can't stop laughing right now. That is the best thing I've ever seen.
This is one of my favorite sites to go to for a good laugh. This guy is a genius.
That is some good, good stuff. Goldfinger original.
If you liked the Cash4Gold one, you'll probably like this:
EDIT: Haha, BLUEOkie's link is to this guy's site ^
Ah yes the 7 legged spider. I believe that's the one that got me hooked to his site. That's my type of humor and is very fitting with this blog.
Hilarious... and classic.
Trying to conjur up summertime with a Bell's Oberon - minus the orange slice.
Dogfish 90's followed by a Ciroc vodka martini. Straight up....blue cheese olives.
Highland Park 12 yr old single malt. Not bad, not great but cheap.
Highland Park is my FAVORITE widely available 12 year. A heluvalot better than your introductory Glenwhatevers.
Lame, but I just wanted to post on mgoblog from 36,000 feet. Is that a world record? Internetz (and snakes) on a plane!
If there's any problems, the Microwave is your best bet.
Hey, Fluffy, you left a souveneir on the rug again. You know what that means?
ciroc, but since im a broke college student i'll be drinking burnetts tonight
So some form of juice or soda pop. I am thinking Cherry Kool-Aid. Good choice, right?
I am drinking a Fire Station 5, Golden Brigade Blonde Ale. Straight from the land that brought us Courtney Love. Olympia, WA. One is a good blonde, the other is a freak nasty blonde.
Glenlivet 18, neat.
I'm thinking about pouring a scotch after this. I've got Glenlivet 12, Highland Park and Origine, which, for a store offered brand, is surprisingly excellent. My uncle sent it to me from Cali.
I haven't tried Orgine but hear it's pretty good. I'm also partial to Balvenie DoubleWood for a reasonably priced single malt.
Didn't know you posted on MGoBlog. Enjoy the Russians...
I can only find 20oz bottles here in the cincy area
Trying some Bell's Oarsman that I snagged on my way out of Michigan a few weeks ago. Unfortunately clinic duty in the morning limits the amount of Bell's I can consume.
feel bad for you. worst Bell's product of all time
Yeah, it's tasting pretty generic right now. It's a good thing I have backup Amber Ale and maybe an Oberon somewhere in my fridge.
* Neither Blazefire nor MGoBlog condone underage drinking in any way.
That's ok, so was Brian Griese...
Just got back from the gym, I'm drinking 1 1/2 scoops of Optimum Gold Standard Whey Protien(Double Rich Chocolate) and 12oz of Lactaid 2%. Fuck my intolerance, I would kill for a glass of whole milk
Best SNL commercial skit of all time
Smoove always goes down nice. Girl, I will make you feel special. I will give you a night with fireworks and flowers.
Just had a couple pints of Guinness at the pub, now I'm gonna pour a homebrew and see where it takes me.
Very nice fish!
I haven't tried it, how is it?
Homemade apple pie booze...... With TRUE Everclear! It's gonna be a really interesting night!
That pretty much sums it up, +1 if I could..
So, 3 quart jars down and some damn Sparty wants to tell me how Hokamania was the best thing to ever happen to MSU......gotta love 'em. Good thing I'm drunk off my ass and understand his logic! I'm also thankful for voice text on my EVO that can even understand drunk me!
Bud Light Bitches!!!
You just finally started getting back on the positive again... and now... Light Beer?
I hope you're playing a game of pong with that there Bud Light.
a/k/a White Russian. Trying to sort out all the strands in the old duder's head. My thinking has been very narrow.
or did this thread fill up VERY fast?
We're a lotta boozed out folks tonight.
It's been a strange 1.43 weeks around here.
fine stuff. Just a touch of water.
Now you're the third to recommend it. I guess The Jim Beam Black was a poor choice.
Then again, it was tasty and I am boozed, so....
Breakfast Stout (down to one more in the house). Next up - Maker's 46, two cubes.
Water on rocks... it sucks to be underage.
Jim Tressel dinks wine coolers
Though I can't figure out where that came from:
1. OSU does suck
2. Tressel is a dink
3. He does drink wine coolers
So despite the randomness, +1!
He just handed that one to the board on a silver platter.
I give you General Simon Bolivar Buckner's family recipe.
Cheap canned beer from Trader Joe's
Do Cocaine derivatives!
Lil Wayne, is that really you under the guise of a New York rapper?
Just made a 32 liter cooler of "Jim Rome" Juice.
a mini-keg of Hop-Slam. A few pint glasses really hits the spot.
All porters, all the time tonight.
Until I go to a bar and get cheap and have to drink fucking Yuengling.
Kirkland variety pack... Good beer at a great price
that I could help!
Subnote: I have had a tremendous amount of bourbon, and I am THIS CLOSE to shitfaced. One more, and then I go pass out.
GO BLUE! WHOOOOO!
Man up and skip the rocks
Been in the cellar for about 10 months. Quite good.
Skyy Vodka and water.
Can't have one without the other
Bell's Hopslam. Best beer I've ever tasted.
Wow a double post also due to the hoppiest brew of all.
On the account of drinking Hopslam.
Double post. I blame it on the Hopslam.
Brought two cases back with me after Christmas and I'm almost out already b
I will personally neg you as much as possible.
IF I rememeber any of this.
Wow... I haven't been this drunk in ages. Last time I was this drunk was the honeymoon, cruise, dinner at the "Murano". We ordered the chef's meal, whatever it was callled. Seven selections EACH with a specially paired wine. Wife couldn't drink but half of hers. I had 12.5 glasses of wine. I was MESSED up.
Now working on splitting a bottle of Cupcake Cabernet Sauvignon with the GF.
For any wine drinkers the "Cupcake" Label is a pretty good mid-label wine. It's $8-13 depending on the sale, and it's a great wine for the value. My favorite that they make is the Petite Syrah.
Have a good weekend all
"I'll get you Beer Baron!"
"No you won't!"
"Yes I will!"
captain and coke
But I brought back a bottle of Noel de Calabaza from Michigan...and I think that will grace my dinner table on Monday when I can imbibe again. I am digging the Jolly Pumpkin brews. For the folks who were trying the Bell's Oarsman, isn't that their first run at a sour mash?
Also on call as we type...
Mentally drinking the 6-pack of Fat Tire waiting for me at the apt.
Fat Tire is a good choice. Can't get that out here, but had a chance to try it once when I was out West. When I drink local, I have to settle for Allagash...oh the horrors!
Caldera Pale Ale
I just put tabasco on my pizza because Brady Hoke told me to.
Shock Top Belgian wheat, with a slice of orange.
Currently finishing the bottom of the bottling bucket for my latest homebrew, a vanilla caramel cream ale.
It's sweet, but not overwhelmingly so. Not an every-day drinker, but it's going to be a nice change-of-pace beer for the next couple of months.
For those homebrewers among us, the recipe can be found at:
I brought back six packs of Cerveza Panama, Soberana, Atlas, and Balboa from Panama last summer just for this winter when the weather got cold. The taste is okay, but the memories it brings back. Like the $450 tab that 3 of us ran up in 3 hours at Le Palace. Cerveza, Seco and lap dances from gorgeous Panamanian and Colombian women. That's as good as it gets.
back and forth between beer, wine and various brands of hard alcohol.......don't see anyway this strategy can backfire.
go for it.
but when I do, I drink water. Gotta stay hydrated.
Is going down good
Coors Light followed by keg Natty Light. Both fairly crappy (the Natty being horrible), but thats what you get for being on a college budget.
Maker's Mark straight up
Kentucky bourbon FTW
This is weird as shit. I actually had a mint julep last night at The Viceroy in GR to bring back memories of the Kentucky Derby. It wasn't nearly as good -- but close enough.
The last time I had a mint julep is last April when my (female) friend/co-worker and I had to go to San Antonio for a conference. She introduced me to Pat O'Brien's where I had a hurricane, mint julep and then another hurricane. (Note: this is a bad idea. Hurricanes are much, much stronger than they taste and it is impossible to realize this until you physically try to stand up.)
We then proceded to the Coyote Ugly bar where we consumed an unknown number of beers. The last thing I remember is high-fiving and shouting, "GO BLUEEEE!" at strangers along the River Walk on our way back to the hotel. Also I definitely woke up not in the dress I wore out, so there's that.
Best slash worst night ever.
with a capital HOT.
Saturday Morning Hangover thread! Whose got 'em?
I had everything...3 Magic Hat Vinyls, half a pitcher of Ghettoblaster, pinot and a bottle of Chandon Brut...
What's more disgusting? Bathtub mint julep, or garbage can yucca flats?
The latter was my uncle's drink of choice when he was my age.
