Incredible depth! Well done. I might suggest a "22 to 23" column instead of the "19 to 20" change.

Baffling. If we can't even get 4K for these heavily watched sporting events, what is the point of the latest 8K TVs?

This is a classic "Old Man Yells at Cloud" moment for me.

Are any of these options in 4K?

I have been digging around. Can't seem to find a 4K option.

Cool story bro moment...

Shortly after moving to a new neighborhood I realized that my neighbor's step-dad was one of the astronauts on my shirt. She didn't find the shirt as funny as I do.

Is SeatGeek legit? Prices seem to be a bit lower than StubHub.

I am trying to secure 8 tickets for UM/UConn for two long-time lurking MGoDads. In aggregate we'll be taking 5 daughters to their first game at the Big House.

Realistically we will probably target 2 groups of 4 tickets in the same section. Much cheaper than a full 8 together.

Prefer between the 20s to maximize the kiddos' first experience.

Any recommendations are welcome and appreciated.

Awesome!!! Thank you for sharing.

Just make sure you reserve a campsite that doesn't require hard-sided campers. We spent 5 nights at Fishing Bridge last summer - hard-sided only due to the grizzlies.

Have a fantastic trip!

Brian, please tell me the …

Brian, please tell me the "Steely Dan" reference wasn't random?

You could have easily mentioned Chicago, America...or any number of bands. But given the genesis of Steely Dan's name, Snoop's performance/innuendo, etc. this reference just couldn't have been random. You're too clever for that.

Well played. I would upvote you if I could.

Nice reference to drifting…

Nice reference to drifting at Cambridge and Lincoln. My buddies and I lived about 100 feet from that intersection. When it snowed we often went "skitching" through that exact neighborhood - essentially skiing in boots behind a crappy car. After a few practice runs we would add a second skitcher and the survival battles would commence.

So glad Ring didn't exist back then. Thank you for the blast from the past, Ace!

Far enough away that we just felt rolling. Wasn't too much of a jolt. The kiddos did a good job of kneeling and covering up in the safest part of our house. The school drills worked.

Hope everyone is safe!

Very sad to hear the news!

Given timing (and our scholarship situation), I wonder if he can withdraw from the draft and stay "on the team" for rehab in Ann Arbor and, potentially, for some PT later in the season. Would be great to have him around...almost like a football GA.

Recognize the May 29th deadline has passed but stranger exceptions have been made.

I'll be back in the stands again tonight at Jackie Robinson Stadium. Huge game.

GO BLUE!!!

I am a huge fan of Johnnie-O stuff. I own a few different designs of the standard Albatross polo, with some comfy stretch built in. I find this flexibility useful and necessary following hoops Big Ten Tourney and NCAA runs and the 5-10 extra pounds that came with.

I'm about to pull the trigger on some Michigan branded gear:

Here are a few examples through Fanatics:

PS - Some of my shirts say they were made in Korea, FWIW.

I will certainly be yelling in the crowd.

Unfortunately, I don't have enough points to post...so apologies for the thread jack.

What I lack in points I make up for in 3 extra tickets for tonight's MICHIGAN/ucla game.

Anyone interested? First one to email me at [email protected] gets them.

Wish we had a DM function here so I didn't have to put my email out there. Oh well.

Also in for 5 bucks.

Sam and Ira had a thorough explanation of the situation on today's WTKA Michigan Insider. Really seemed like they understood the details.

They explained that the Super Regionals are akin to a UCLA home game. The visiting team only gets a small allotment for the team's family and major donors.

If we get past the Bruins and move on to Omaha, things will be different. Although I can't Uber to Omaha. Rats.

By contrast, this is not like a football bowl game where each team gets a sizeable allotment.

Just passing on info. Please don't shoot the messenger.

GO BLUE!!!

Yep, I…

Thanks, goblue7612!

Yep, I am in Hermosa and would definitely make my way up to Westwood, if not for this debacle. UM undergrad and UCLA grad, so having an opportunity to see Michigan play UCLA at this stage would be special.

I have met both Robert and Patrick. Will definitely contact them, hopefully with some more clarity tomorrow.

I wonder if the team stayed out West? Perhaps we can see a practice, show a little support and voice frustration to athletic department staff...

Agreed. Do you know if there…

Agreed. Do you know if there is a specific email address for complaints to the Athletic Department?

Little late to the party…

Little late to the party here. Just watched the news conference and was so underwhelmed I felt compelled to post.

Didn't they have nearly a week to prep for this???

I can certainly cut Juwan some slack on the tangents he went on during his time at the podium. He is completely genuine and believable. Clearly bleeds blue and I believe he will be great...eventually. I am excited for what he will bring but am concerned with his immediate level of preparation. We need one or two really experienced college coaches on staff. Thank goodness he didn't mention any recruits beyond Cole Bajema. Yikes.

On the other end of the spectrum, Warde was smug and somewhat dishonest (?). During the search, Warde said a key requirement for the next coach was to have head coaching experience. Juwan does not check that box. During the presser, Warde said he spent much of the interview time discussing Juwan's "plan". Plan? What plan?

Connecting some dots... Warde admitted that John High Integrity Beilein didn't tell him about Cleveland until after he had already accepted the job. My guess is that John Beilein has seen through Warde's self-serving bluster and didn't respect Warde enough to give him advance notice.

My 2 Cents

Football Center and Baseball…

Football Center and Baseball Pitcher. The next Clayton Kershaw? Same height at 6'4" but Parker Ball (great name, BTW) has 50 pounds on Kershaw.

Philip Rivers better buy…

Philip Rivers better buy tickets preemptively to secure seats for all of his kids... Dude sure can procreate.

Strange that the Chargers…

Strange that the Chargers could host the AFC Championship Game in a ~27,000 seat stadium.

Obviously unlikely for that many upsets to happen in the playoffs but it's plausible given how the Colts and Chargers have been playing.

What's it called when a team…

What's it called when a team's pre-game march outgains its offense?

Clothing Celebrating Ann Arbor/Detroit

I too am a huge fan of Clarkson, May and Hammond. The Grand Tour Season 2 has been light years better than Season 1 although they are still struggling to get back to the amazing highs of Top Gear.

I found Season 2, Episode 11 ("Feed The World") to be one of their best yet, accentuated by three seemingly random clothing-based references to glorious Southeastern Michigan.

  • Michigan Hoops Jersey (2:22) - A man in the town of Bingo, Mozambique wears a #1 jersey while relaxing in town.
  • Bob's Place Detroit, MI (starts around 11:45) - The orangutan wears a Bob Seger inspired t-shirt while "fishing" in the Indian Ocean. Too bad the shirt is green and white.
  • Bob Seger Silhouette (starts around 15:14) - Dried off from fishing, Clarkson wears a classic Seger t-shirt for most of the episode.

I have a hard time believing this is random...

How can we help?

Dear Cali,

I am so sorry to hear of your wife's situation and can only imagine how hard this is on everyone involved. I am also a 1998 Michigan grad and am very lucky to have a wife and three young daughters. I honestly can't imagine what you're going through.

We have a strong, supportive MGoCommunity in the Hermosa Beach area and have strong ties to an organization called Walk With Sally (www.walkwithsally.org) that may be of help to you and your kids.

Please don't hesitate to reach out if you're anywhere near the Hermosa Beach area.

Best of luck,

Matt Abbott

Milwaukee?

Strangely, I will be in Milwaukee the weekend our Wolverines host the Wisconsin Badgers in Ann Arbor.  My buddies and I ('97 and '98 grads) need a good place to watch the game and get a bid rowdy.  We get pretty animated about Michigan Football.

I checked the alumni website. Two bars are listed. However, the Yelp reviews for G-Daddy's and Oakcrest Tavern seem to be hit or miss.

Can any Milwaukee locals share suggestions?

Thanks!
