I have one ticket available…

I have one ticket available in Sec 632 (Michigan side) that I am looking to sell.  $1,500 OBO.  Email bdjobe(at)gmaildotcom

Just in case you are serious...

http://mgoblog.com/content/hello-pep-hamilton

From the looks of it....

...I would say this police report was redacted.

"A heavily redacted incident report by TPD on Wednesday was heavily redacted."

It's a fine line for me...

I can appreciate the value of a coach showing enthusiasm, excitement, and intensity during the game even if it's just to get the players motivated.  But I also feel it is somewhat contradictory to teach the players to play under control when the coach is a fire-breathing maniac on the sidelines.

On the "Take a Seat"...

At the game I remember seeing an IU coach help Darboh up after he was eventually pushed out of bounds on that play.  We (the people sitting around me) thought it looked as though he was congratulating him on a great play...he slapped him on the butt and was smiling while yelling something to him as he walked away.  He looked way too excited to have just witnessed up close one of his guys getting owned by an opponent, but it was still cool to see.

Thanks for the suggestion, but...

...I ran the scan from TrendMicro and it found nothing.  Yet the problems persist.  I have a feeling there is some obvious step(s) I am overlooking to fix this (buying a Mac doesn't count), but this is getting frustrating.

which is it?

Is this about media attention or sending a message to the administration that Brandon needs to be gone?  ESPN/media aren't going to have any impact on that change...if so it would have already happened by now.  I just don't see how them saying "yep, people didn't show up because they want the AD canned" is going to somehow resonate more with the President/Board.  They know already.

Honest question based on your role with recruiting...

While the recruits may have never asked about or specifically mentioned the attendance, do you believe the overall game atmosphere was/is never a factor in the decision?  I always thought playing in the Big House was part of our "sell".

I'll hang up and listen now...

Good point! Let's also burn Good point! Let's also burn down Ann Arbor so he won't have an office to go to! We can't leave anything to chance! /s

My point exactly, WolverineMac! My point exactly, WolverineMac!

Thank you, sir, but I was Thank you, sir, but I was there. I am fully aware of the state of affairs...as is everyone who has any knowledge of Michigan, B1G, or likely even college football as a whole. It was sad how playing away yesterday seemed like more of an advantage than playing at home...no booing (coaches, players, whatever).

I want a change too, and have voiced my concerns. Just because something doesn't change according to my schedule doesn't mean it won't happen. I guess when people are making fun of me, I'm not the kind of guy to create fuel for the fire.

I still don't understand why I still don't understand why we need to further embarrass the program to restate a point that has already been made loud and clear. Recruits will be here who likely aren't involved with the AD drama. Seems like we're kicking ourselves in the crotch for our own amusement now.

I'll be there...

I will be there cheering for the players regardless of the other stuff going on.  It saddens me to think that it may be to our advantage to play away from the Big House so the players can focus on the task at hand.  I can't imagine trying to stay focused and together when there is so much garbage surrounding the program.

For those feeling the need to stick it to DB and BH, I applaud any who find a way to do that OUTSIDE of the game setting.  It has to be near impossible for the players to truly distinguish the boos for DB vs. BH vs. them.  I fully understand and agree with most of the frustration directed at the program right now.  But at the same time, these kids are still representing the university every time they step on the field.  UofM has enough ridicule directed at them right now from all over the country, so the last thing I want to do is add to that any further.  For some, I feel the notion of "cutting off your nose to spite your face" is quite applicable here.  Boycotting games, wearing rival colors, etc. seems so counterproductive.  I'm pretty sure all those in power are quite aware of the growing disdain for the program's leadership.  Is contributing to the dysfunction and mockery of our team really going to accomplish anything other than further embarassment?  Do we need more press coverage?  Are we creating an environment that a quality coach would want to come into?

I did not attend UofM, but have been a proud supporter since I moved to Ann Arbor 12 years ago.  I will continue to buy my season tix as long as I am able.  And I will yell for this team until I am unable to do so.  I had a talk with my 6-year old son about what it means to be loyal.  You pull for your team in good times and bad.  You don't have to like and/or agree with everything, but you don't abandon the team...especially one of kids/students.

Go Blue!

On the Lewis GIF...

...I like the guy in the blue jacket (standing next to Drake Johnson?) who never changes his expression despite everyone around him going nuts.  He looks like a cardboard cutout.

I'm frustrated like everyone else...

...but I don't see how Hoke is blaming anyone...particularly his critics as you suggest.  Am I missing something or was there more to this report/quote where he blames fans, etc.?

That's where we differ... I still feel like the facts are unclear about this instance, so I was referring to historical examples of poor judgement...there is no proof (to my knowledge) that Hoke would have not taken action sooner had he not been instructed or advised to do so based on lack of definitive evidence, incomplete process, etc.

I just don't understand how/why people are so quick to condemn without knowing all of the facts...needless to say, I pray I never report to some of the folks on here in a future career move. :-)
Care to elaborate? I'm one of those people who tries to take a step back and look at things logically...remove emotions from the mix (i.e. My first solution to any problem is not "fire someone!").

Honestly, please enlighten me as to the other shady decisions Hoke has made in his time here that would justify the immediate reaction of "he clearly covered this up and should be fired.". I will gladly change my perspective here in the presence of facts...
Hoke's history of discipline I don't understand why people are still harping on Hoke and/or Brandon about what they said, didn't say, didn't do, etc. I have yet to see anything in Hoke's or Brandon's time at UM that would indicate they were light on disciplinary issues. Numerous players have been suspended or dismissed from the team for "lesser" offenses. Hoke never seemed to have much regard for the "importance or value" of said players when taking action (JT Floyd, Stonum, Hagerup, Touissaint, etc). From all accounts I have seen or heard, Hoke is a very high-character guy. Why can't people give him the benefit of the doubt that he handled the situation as he was likely instructed to do based on the info he had? Why do so many have to assume the worst and demand firing when there is no precedent of shady character or relaxed discipline policies? I think the sense of entitlement by some fans is getting out of control.
Coach pushing Jake Ryan

Did anyone else see when the OSU asst. coach pushed Jake Ryan following the brawl?  A UM trainer/manager had picked up the loose OSU helmet on the field and was walking over to hand it to an OSU player.  Jake Ryan took it from him to take over to the player.  Jake calmly walked with his arm outstretched to a player who was trying to take the helmet back, then an OSU asst. coach comes flying in, grabs the helmet away from Jake, and shoves him in the chest.  Jake handled it well and walked back to the sideline, but our section exploded when we saw that.  Neither Jake nor the OSU guy were showing any aggression at that point, so it seemed a little uncalled for.

Irony

My take on the picture: Certainly not fit to run an offense, but more than qualified to critique every player's performance, second guess every coaching decision, more effectively run a major university...

Praying

Praying for your wife and family!

Incomplete Roster

I downloaded this roster, but it seems to be incomplete for Michigan with only a few players named (if I recall correctly, just QBs).  Is this still a work in progress, or am I missing something...aside from the names of all the other players?

Thanks for the heads up though...

Possibly reading too much into this...

OK, VERY likely I am reading too much into this (and I don't make a habit of doing this), but could this be him paying homage to Juwan Howard from the Fab Five days??

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewBUPP_774U

Also an Early man...

I hail from Early, TX with a thriving population of 2,762.  This adds absolutely nothing to the post, but I can't think of a time in my life where it made sense to mention that I was from Early, TX...so I will enjoy the opportunity now.

There it is!!!!

If you look on Denard's left hand you can see the scars where the dilithium spider bit him while he was in high school.

Great story

It's a good reminder that team colors and allegiances don't mean much in the bigger picture.  Thanks for sharing, and I'll be praying for your cousin and family.

Marell Evans?

I did a quick search of the blog for an update before asking, but didn't find anything.  Is his status in question?  I have seen 2-3 mentions about him over the last couple of days...

Detroit News

She is the reporter that covers Michigan sports for the DetNews.

Maize shirt

If I recall correctly, he was wearing a maize shirt and a Michigan cap...

I was there...

As noted by a few others on this board, I was about 10 feet from this whole incident.  Initially, we thought there was a fight between a ND fan and Michigan fan by the way everyone was acting, but then we saw the man lying on the row of seats.  While it seemed like an eternity at the time (since the guy was clearly unconscious), the emergency staff were there quickly, took control of the situation, and got him out of there fast.

It was very scary and surreal to watch (and somewhat odd as fans all over were cheering as DRob and Junior just scored our first TD of the night).  The fan who was performing CPR did an amazing job of staying cool and doing what needed to be done.

As there was no good way to find out how the guy was doing after the fact, it was a great relief to see the article and hear the guy is doing well.

Thanks for posting.  This is some good closure on an amazing night that I'll never forget.

GO BLUE!!

Inside joke...

Beng a redneck myself, I was just playing on the perception that many Michigan fans had of RR and his family.  I like the guy and his family, so it certainly wasn't intended to be anything personal.

Via Twitter and Chris Mortensen...

"While Ohio State denied any new disclosures by Pryor, ESPN has obtained documents confirming May 20 meeting w NCAA & bank records supplied"

This never gets old

EDIT: PLEASE DELETE...DUPLICATE POST.

Can't get the video to work...

Telling me I need to find the plug-ins, but finds nothing after searching.  Any suggestions?  Thanks!

Any recommendations for

Any recommendations for making it less deceiving?  I thought it was pretty fitting.

...and your avatar is very fitting for this thread.  :-)

A valid point...

You make a valid point, but if I put myself in his shoes, I (personally) would be more honored by something they felt I deserved rather than what I asked for/hinted at.  BUT, as you said, I am not DH.

What about the players?

If it's true what I am hearing about the players liking the night game jerseys, then that is more important to me than what the fanbase thinks.  While it is clear that we are paying spectators, the game is about the athletes on the field...not my personal preference about their attire.

However, we are all certainly entitled to voice our opinions...

At the risk of bringing a curse upon our upcoming season...

Am I seeing correctly in several photos that Denard's shoelaces are tied?  Perhaps just an attempt by Hoke to contain the dilithium until Fall??

I know...I've hit a bad point in my life when I am looking forward to football so badly that I start to analyze a guy's shoelaces...but really??

Not claiming to be smarter than you...

...but I still wonder if we have just seen the surface of the RRod playbook.  With a full year under his belt running the offense, Denard and Co. will be much better suited to get to the next level of the playbook next year.  While there were certainly ups and downs this year, I think RRod wanted to see the guys grasp the base of the offense before adding in the next layer of bells and whistles.  However, my theory is purely conjecture though.

And yes, it would be cool if the next level of our offense actually included real bells and whistles...think of the madness!

Thanks for the post

I know several had criticized RRod recently when he made the comment about "find another D1 school starting 5-6 true Freshmen on their defense", so this was quite telling for me.  Whether viewed as an excuse or not, it's clear this is an undeniable fact.  Thanks for doing the research!

GO BLUE!

Thanks for sharing...

This is a good story.  And as much as we don't want to sometimes, it's good to put aside our sports rivalries to see the bigger picture.  I'm glad to hear she is getting the care she needs and impressed at the manner in which it is being provided.

Now, why only a 2 TD margin???  It is OSU, right?

Since we are now needing to get creative...

Here's a story about a girl in Ohio who kicked a 43-yard FG:

http://rivals.yahoo.com/highschool/blog/prep_rally/post/Ohio-girl-s-kick-believed-to-be-longest-by-femal?urn=highschool-277779

We could be like that movie Necessary Roughness with Sinbad that had Kathy Ireland as the kicker.   :-)

I heard it at the time...

...and I can hear it in the video as well.  I was trying to tell the idiot fan in front of me that our guys stopped because they heard the whistle.  He was again trying to fire RRod because of the players not playing after the (now apparent) whistle.

Didn't really affect the game, but definitely a mistake by an official.

Problems with the Recuiting page on MGoBlog?

Thanks for posting.  I was attempting to take a look at the 2011 Recruiting page and it looks to have reverted back to an older version of the page (i.e. players marked as committments before are no longer, etc.).  While I am secretly praying that this isn't an actual reaction of the recent losses (insert nervous laughter here), is anyone else finding the same problem?

I am a Michigan fan by locale

I am a Michigan fan by locale (did not attend UofM, but moved here almost 9 years ago and have gone full BLUE) so I often get the "you don't understand" logic when I try to remain positive about this team.  I know there are those who feel we should win the game because we are Michigan and that's what we have done for the last 400 years.  While I would love that to be the case, it's just not logical and makes us look arrogant.

I come from teams where you may have a down year here and there, but you ALWAYS support your team.  My high school football team sucked for 30 years where ANY win was a big deal...TDs were special!  :-)   However, you don't get up and walk out when they are down.  You don't ever boo your team.  You can be frustrated when things don't go well, but you have to exhibit the same short memory we ask of our players when they make a bad play.  The most depressing thing for me is knowing the visiting team and fans have the pleasure of watching SOME "fans" turn on our team and coaches during the game.

I am ALL IN for this team.  I will be there early, and I will not leave until the final whistle blows.  I will remain hopeful and supportive because that is what a fan does.  We will be back, and there are so many things (even in losses) that are proof of this.

Stating the Obvious...

"broken plays are very...dangerous from a kid like this.  Look at that speed!  See ya!"

I find it amusing...

...that typically this blog (with exceptions, of course) is down on the press as a whole...making comments about not reading into what is said/printed in the media, etc.  However, some are eager to discount RR because of what he doesn't say in a postgame press conference.

Personally, I don't care what RR says to appease the media that most of us don't trust.  I am more concerned with what he says to the players in the locker room before, during and after a win or loss.  It's asking a bit much of a head coach to take responsibility for convincing the fans and media that he is really upset about the recent loss.  Any baffoon can mumble motivational "coach speak" from a podium to look pissed off, but that doesn't tell me anything about the character or desire of a head coach.

Questioning a call or strategy on the field is one thing, but criticizing a post-game presser is a little much...hopefully this is just post-loss venting rather than a continuous mindset.

Just a thought...

Could the perceived lack of leadership have anything to do with the fact that the majority of our starters on both sides of the ball are underclassman?  That was probably not the case with most of Lloyd teams (not claiming fact here, just my quick recollection).  Aside from a few obvious exceptions (Hart, Henne, etc.) most of the underclassman didn't even sniff the field aside from pre-game warm-ups.

I don't think anyone questioned the leadership and drive of this team as we started 5-0...opponents in this instance didn't matter.  There's no question that RRod has put this offense in the position to win games.  Offensive strategy and play calling are not my concern at this point.  I won't beat the defensive dead horse anymore...

GO BLUE!

Status of Shaw?

What happened with Shaw during the game?  Was he not ready to play as we had originally thought, or did he hurt something else during the game?  If I recall correctly, he came into the game and made some good plays, but I don't recall seeing him again.

FYI

The guy who told me this was playing golf at a different golf course in town 8 hours before the game, was 100% sober, and close friends with Dave Brandon.  I'm not claiming his comments as gospel fact, but for you to dismiss his comments based on your incorrect assumption is wrong.
