Zettel-most important recruit left

At this point we just need talent on the defensive side of the ball to add depth. All of these guys would be great additions to our class. But i do not think we are in any shape to sit here to pick and choose which recruits we need more than others. What if they are looking at this board and see that people are saying we don't want them as bad as someone else? let's be honest, we just need some playmakers. This is a big recruiting class for the years to come, so players who are going to fit with what we are trying to accomplish here are more than welcome in my book.

We have a gaping hole in recruiting at guard as well. Some project Zettel there, but I would really like to see us get Hobbi and/or Bryant as well. Other than that, I agree with those who say DT and Secondary are bigger needs than DE.

It is hard to list these kids in priority order. I just want whoever comes to Michigan to be happy and comfortable with their choice. A happy kid is usually a productive kid.
The only thing I find really strange about our recruiting is the lack of balance. One year we need 5 OLs the next year we need 5 DBs... it seems to me that idealy we would go after 2-3 OLs in every class and 2-3DBs in every class. To get so unbalanced that you have to make erratic swings toward one position cannot be ideal for successful onfield performance. In this situation you will constantly have one position group that is far too young to be successful. IME.

Agree on the swings - hopefully this has been the product of the changeover - should stabilize once RR gets settled in

I'd agree with you, but I think most schools have to play catch up each year with a couple of positions due to unexpected attrition or kids simply not panning out.

For Kris Frost.

You make it sound like we are directly involved.

You make it sound like we are not.

Well maybe its just me then. I have to go to a wedding Saturday, so I'm not going to be able to play against Purdue. If you could go ahead and take care of business for me, that would be great. I'll get you next time.

We're still in it and we need to get him on an official.

is important. They each get selected and recruited because they all have a spot on this roster that the coach wants them to take up.

Seems like many on the board seem to forget we are still alive for jernigan, Karlos Williams, and Ha-Ha (tune in on signing day)...All of those guys may be long shots but there is still a remote shot. I'd take any of those 3 over Zettel...

would be great. But I didn't see anyone mention Lamar Dawson. I think this kid would be a huge pick up! A playmaker at the LB position. Which IMO is our "position of need' along with DB. (Don't need to state the obvious).

I would say Frost is the most important

Any kicker is just as important.

from a few people I know from West Branch, was that Zettel was a slight lean towards sparty...
HOWEVA, this was a few weeks ago when michigan was going through a lull period and it looked like RR's job was at stake. As long as we win and RR's job is secure then I think we have a great shot at landing him.
