Zavier Simpson signs with Pro German Team
I don't think I saw this posted to the board and I love looking up former players and seeing what they're up to.
Zavier Simpson signed with Science City Jena, a pro team in the second tier of the German Basketball Budesliga. Apparently Zavier is already in Germany and the team has it's first game on 10/17.
Jon Teske is continuing to train for the NBA as he hopes to be drafted or picked up by a team for the G-League.

I had three goofs on my first board post:
1. Paragraph spacing is way different when making a post.
2. Zavier now goes by Xavier again.
3. Here is the proper link:https://www.mlive.com/wolverines/2020/09/zavier-simpson-signs-with-german-pro-team.html#:~:text=Zavier%20Simpson%20has%20signed%20with,160%20miles%20southwest%20of%20Berlin.

+1 to you for true confessions.

Training camps for NBA teams were opened on or before Oct. 1, 2019 last year. That means, going by last year's schedule, training camps for the '20-'21 season would already be open. But we're still finishing up the '19-'20 season. I am interested to see how they move forward with the next season. How much time off will they give this year's playoff teams? Will there be a pre-season? If so, will it be reduced dramatically?

Camps are supposed to open in Dec, with the first game tentatively scheduled for Christmas day.

Good for him!

Goof this minor has to put you above the 75% of OPs..so call it a decent 1st post.
Did not know it was back to X and wish he had another year of eligibility dammit! I am more skeptical of Teske's future plans.

Sky hook or it didn't happen.

Just glad he can continue playing. Maybe work on his outside shooting. Those krauts best be careful with the rock, though.

Thanks for the update. Glad he's back to X. Watch out, German b'ball.

I'm waiting for him to get tired of the X-Z thing & change his name to Javier Simpson... then Havier... then...

So Xavier was the "player to be named later" in the trade for the Wagner Brothers?

Bless his heart, but I think Teske needs to be a bit more realistic. He isn't a pro (At least in the United States).
He had a chance to be showcased this year and got clowned by big men night in and night out.

Damn Franz, you haven't been here long enough to call a former teammate out like that.
October 7th, 2020 at 8:57 PM ^
Duncan Robinson might have something else to say about being realistic
October 7th, 2020 at 9:26 PM ^
Duncan can shoot threes at a high clip.
Teske can't even make layups.

Viel Glück zu X, der Laufenderhakenschussmann.
(Google translate for "Running Hook Shot Man")

OK, "Science City Jena" might be the coolest name for a pro sports team ever.
October 7th, 2020 at 8:47 PM ^
Yea but where did Jeff Jackson sign?!
October 7th, 2020 at 9:05 PM ^
Wait, is it a pro German team (Deutschland über alles!) , or a German pro team?
October 7th, 2020 at 11:26 PM ^
Great minds think alike. I scrolled through to find this take. Beat me to it.
October 8th, 2020 at 12:36 AM ^
Same. The connotation was a bit disturbing.
October 8th, 2020 at 5:51 AM ^
As opposed to an anti-German team.

Dass ist aber giel.
October 8th, 2020 at 12:32 AM ^
Horny, but nice.
At first glance, this word can confuse some non-native German speakers. If you look up ‘geil’ in a dictionary you will likely find a translation along the lines of horny or lecherous. Whilst this is certainly the original use of this word, colloquially ‘geil’ is far more complimentary.

Captain Hook.

Great news for him, hopefully he has a long and successful career and hopefully Teske can get himself drafted!

If you're gonna play pro basketball overseas, Germany has got to be one of the better places to land. Hope it goes great for him
