This Year's Akron Game

Submitted by 1of12MattDamons on October 12th, 2019 at 3:49 PM

This is Kirby Smart's Akron game, guys. He lost at home to a bad South Carolina team in year 4 of his tenure. He clearly isn't the man for the job. Hopefully he is fired after today's game. There's at least 15 guys Georgia can get that are better coaching candidates. Georgia has ZERO chance to beat Bama, Florida or even Auburn.

Honest question: aren't things typically hilarious when there is some truth we recognize in them? The dude was satirizing M fans complaining about Harbaugh. There are definitely things there to satirize, no denying that. But using Smart as a comparison is just silly. The SC loss has zero resemblance to Akron, or to anything because it's an ANOMALY for Georgia. Poor performances by M are sadly common.

There was no intention to be clever and obviously Kirby has had greater success and all signs point to him being a better coach than Harbaugh. I just decided I would rile up some posters on this here blog that reflect their own personal happiness based on the performance of a college football team. Watching the board's meltdowns each week used to be entertaining. Now it's just getting sad.

Haha I was waiting for a sunshine blower to make a stupid thread/comment like this. Kirby has accomplished more at UGA than Harbaugh has in fewer years.

If after all the huge stories and direct quotes about college players getting paid under the table by shady programs haven't convinced you, there's no hope.

It is incredible that people are so determined to just hate everything about Michigan football that all facts and evidence explaining why we aren't truly elite just flies over heads.

didn't they just get creamed by Purdue today as well? Maybe Alabama OCs are just not good OC hires when they don't have the same horses to play with. But Locksley seems like a dickrod clone. Scores a metric shit ton of points against teams who are completely overmatched and can't get a first down against teams with a pulse.

I just wish this didn't remind me of our embarrassing loss to South Carolina. The Harbaugh one, I mean.  Not the Hoke embarrassing loss to South Carolina.

What was embarrassing about the Hoke loss to top ten SCAR? That was an 11 win team that only lost road games to top ten LSU and top five Florida, and we played them right down to the end. If you're only embarrassed because of the Vincent Smith hit, you must not remember the context of the game or even the whole season

You assume too much, kid. Because we lined up our strong safety against their best receiver all game, and lost because of it. St Kovacs was a hero on defense, lining him up in slot pass coverage against an NFL bound receiver was an abomination and Hoke was responsible. The eternal highlight of Smith getting dehelmeted doesn't help, either.

I don't know about best alignments but I recall Michigan was playing 3rd string defensive backs by the end of the game due to injuries.  I am pretty sure Michigan had someone out of position most of the 4th quarter.  I don't blame Hoke for that.

Hargaugh USC game had Michigan starting its 7th and 9th best offensive linemen so I am going to pass on blaming that loss on Hargaugh.

This would be funny except that Smart has, ya know, been more successful at Georgia than Harbaugh has at Michigan.
