World Cup Day 8 is here. I never want this World Cup to end. England/Uruguay is the big matchup today but I suspect Columbia/Cote d'Ivoire will be a very competitive match.

Although England lost they have a slim chance...Costa Rica beating Italy is no guarantee. Italy is damn good. A tie maybe...then England is out lol

England needs some improbable stuff to happen.
- Italy has to win out against Costa Rica and Uruguay
- England must beat Costa Rica
- Costa Rica must end up at least equal in goal differential and goals scored for England to advance. If CR loses to Italy 2-4 and to England 0-1, for instance, CR would advance on the basis of having scored more goals, although the goal differential would be the same
That's actually not as improbable as I would have thought. I mean, it's not likely for all that to happen, but none of those events, alone, would be a shocker. I'd give it a 10% chance of it all happening.

Rooney had some jump today. Gerrard was nearly invisible in the last 1/3 of the game, but England's defense was horrible throughout.
Awesome story - in FIFA '12 or '13, I sold Gerrard, bought a bunch of young players and went on to dominate the EPL for a few *years.* Could you imagine the shitstorm that would create in Liverpool if John Henry, et. al. let him walk? As they might do with Suarez?

Has seemed that way. Only 3 evening starts remaining in the tournament and Portugal-USA the only appealing one. Bosnia should trounce Nigeria and Ecuador/Honduras will be a flopfest.
