I’ve taken shits more tasteful than this coaching
September 21st, 2019 at 3:50 PM ^
Year five:
Trailing 0-7, early in the first quarter.
Nice catch and run down the sideline for 70 yards: First and goal!
Send in new personnel grouping, never before used on offense--could surprise Wisconsin!
But no: It’s a clusterfuck, no one knows what to do, you’re forced to call timeout.
Like Borges before you, after the timeout you trot out the same personnel group and run the same play.
Fumble on the five yard line with an RB who hasn’t played a down of offense for nine months.
Year five: The Michigan difference. Harbaughian discipline.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:06 PM ^
Ever notice how Michigan losses can almost always be pinpointed to one or two series? You can literally see when the wheels come off and then you wait to see if they can recover. They rarely do. Seems like they’re not mentally tough to overcome the first mistake.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:11 PM ^
maybe when the players see the total bullshit plays being called they lose confidence in the coaching and stop trying as hard. I would
September 21st, 2019 at 8:32 PM ^
If you are Zach or hell, any actual RB on the roster and they give the ball to a DLine guy (who granted may have practiced some at FB in the last 8 months, maybe), how do you feel? Excited for the lack of opportunity?
September 21st, 2019 at 8:52 PM ^
dumpster fire.
September 21st, 2019 at 7:06 PM ^
They could have restarted the game over at halftime in Michigan wasn't beating Wisconsin today
September 21st, 2019 at 7:44 PM ^
Yep, the 1st series.
September 22nd, 2019 at 6:12 AM ^
Ever watch the Detroit Lions play?
Do you see any similarities?
September 22nd, 2019 at 8:43 AM ^
there is some evidence of this since 2016---mostly hoke recruits.
September 22nd, 2019 at 12:54 PM ^
You mean handing the ball of to McKeon on our 25 yard line on 3rd and 2 in the bowl game vs. South Carolina?
Harbaugh always thinks he is the smartest kid in the room with all these formations and shifts and player changes.
It only messes with the team, and rarely goes well.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:24 PM ^
Harbaugh is too busy making Downy commercials to come up with a competent gameplan.
September 21st, 2019 at 6:45 PM ^
I have a hard time believing Gattis decided to call Mason’s number there.
September 21st, 2019 at 6:57 PM ^
This about sums it up.
September 21st, 2019 at 9:22 PM ^
This is it man. This is it.
September 22nd, 2019 at 2:01 AM ^
The Mason fumble was 2nd and goal. 1st and goal was a slant to Collins that might have been a TD with a good throw but Patterson air mailed the throw so badly it wasn't close.
September 21st, 2019 at 3:54 PM ^
Charles Woodson said it all... "you had two weeks to prepare", "it looked like Michigan hadn't watched film; they didn't know Wisconsin football"...
"that was an embarrassment!"
September 21st, 2019 at 4:02 PM ^
Year five:
Trailing 0-21, with 1:57 to go before the half:
Time to unleash the two-minute monster on these Cheese-Eaters!
Play #1: Fuckcluster-run-beta, QB and running backs trip and fall down for loss in the backfield.
That’s first down, two-minute drill.
Year five: Tactical flexibility, situational football, Harbaughian creativity.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:12 PM ^
Send him to the nights watch
September 22nd, 2019 at 6:18 AM ^
Urban Meyer. Please and thank you.
September 22nd, 2019 at 8:08 AM ^
We may be in the midst of an existential crisis as a program, but respectfully....
.....you shut your whore mouth with that nonsense.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:11 PM ^
It's like the coaches are handing out croquet mallets to fight teams with Apache helicopters.
September 21st, 2019 at 10:00 PM ^
well when you fumble four times over the last two games yielding four touchdowns. I could see how film study would be sacrificed to work on ball security.
September 22nd, 2019 at 5:02 PM ^
Ouch. He's right.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:10 PM ^
Now that’s a hot take.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:12 PM ^
Not sure tasteful is the correct word.
*Oh yeah, my bad, spot on my good man.
September 22nd, 2019 at 1:21 AM ^
Probably smell better, too
September 22nd, 2019 at 6:17 AM ^
Urban Meyer.
September 21st, 2019 at 3:38 PM ^
It was bad.
September 21st, 2019 at 3:40 PM ^
I'm actually coming around to this idea
EDIT: This was for the Mike Leach post above but the site freaked out when I posted and dropped it here apparently.
September 21st, 2019 at 3:41 PM ^
Not good Bob. Not good. Harbaugh was great the first year with Ruddock and then pretty good with Speight for one year. Since then there has been too much indecision and drama, why is there always a debate of who 1 VS 2 is? Remember JOK anyone?
September 21st, 2019 at 3:52 PM ^
as crazy as he is, i am all aboard with this.
September 21st, 2019 at 7:49 PM ^
It might be less crazy than what we have now.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:00 PM ^
This went under the wrong comment. Poor execution on my part.
Edit: Nope, just weirdness. That's the day I'm having.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:04 PM ^
That guy has never won his conference. Ever.
September 21st, 2019 at 8:12 PM ^
Neither has harbaugh. Leach is worth it for the press conferences alone.
September 21st, 2019 at 9:53 PM ^
Harbaugh's teams won Pioneer League twice, and National Football Conference.
September 22nd, 2019 at 12:59 PM ^
Pac 10 titles: 0
Big 10 titles: 0
Wins against OSU: 0
Harbaugh has won 11 games once in his career and he had an all universe QB. Harbaugh is what he is.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:06 PM ^
As long as we spend $2 million plus on the best young DC out there.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:14 PM ^
"Hmm, well. Obviously, a buckeye would have basically no shot. Terrapin is probably in trouble, too, but maybe it could use the shell to wait things out. Not liking a gopher's chances but you gotta like the tenacity you're getting from a badger or wildcat or wolverine, maybe a Nittany lion. Still you really have to think about a scarlet knight against them. What about against a Hoosier, though, I think a lot of Hoosiers have guns. That's just a guy from Indiana, right? Does the fighting Illini have a gun? All of them would overwhelm a cornhusker or boilermaker, a Spartan would too, but the Spartan definitely has no gun, so...that's a tough one. The real question you gotta ask is if we're talking about Hawkeye, like the Avengers guy. If so, obvious winner."
"Thanks, coach. Yeah, so, back to my question about the offensive line..."
September 21st, 2019 at 4:34 PM ^
We probably couldn't get him.
September 21st, 2019 at 10:53 PM ^
I have come around to this idea. Also not entirely opposed to the Chris Creighton idea despite knowing very little other than his football record.
September 22nd, 2019 at 1:58 AM ^
As I write this, genius Mike Leach's WSU is about to lose to 0-3 (and absolutely horrible) UCLA 67-63.
WSU has given up 67 points AT HOME to one of the very worst teams in college football.
UCLA trailed by 32 points in the 3rd quarter!
Yeah, let's get that guy. Sheesh.
September 22nd, 2019 at 8:36 AM ^
And then his team blew a 32 point, second half lead. We've given up 60+ before, and we're still trying to recover from RR.
September 22nd, 2019 at 9:32 AM ^
Weird thread.
September 22nd, 2019 at 12:54 PM ^
This really aged well
September 23rd, 2019 at 12:50 AM ^
The guy who scored 63 and lost to an 0-3 team made up of 2/3* FR/SO and walk ons.
September 21st, 2019 at 3:39 PM ^
A lot to be desired.
