Wisconsin player breaks minor NCAA rule
Badger WR Nick Toon commited a minor violation by talking to the press about Russel Wilson. I think this rule is dumb and the NCAA needs to worry more about major rule violators. I wouldnt of botherd posting this but its a boring saturday and maybe it can generate some discussion about stupid NCAA rules.

At this point in my life I'm feeling friendly towards almost every NCAA rule. Nick Toon should not have spoken about Russell Wilson. If it were up to me this would be a major violation.
How would you punish Wiconsin for this?
Death penalty
OK, now that we've covered the extremes...
Maybe he can't work out with the team for a week, plus probation for a month or two?
I can see that with the workouts, what did you mean Toon or the team on probation?
There's no systemic pattern of rule-breaking from the team; there's no need to put everybody on probation.
I figured that is what you ment but some people have gone overboard. Do you think maybe they shouldnt be able to sign him now?
This might just warrant a "cease and desist" letter from the NCAA.
That;s an easy question. I would punish them by not allowing them to sign Wilson. Let him take his soon-to-be-closed loophole somewhere else.
They have to give free loaner cars to their rivals
I don't think its a big deal. Kid spoke about someone... probably didn't even realize he was doing something wrong at the time. He should've known better, but I feel like anything more than a slap on the wrist would be overkill.
This is one of those violations that the school will self-report and will give the players a 30 minute PowerPoint about media relations as punishment. That'll be the end of it.
No big deal.
NCAA doesn't worry too much about this. UW will self report and get a letter telling them to instruct their players of the rule.
