Winter Classic Ticket Prices

Submitted by Kilgore Trout on
Just a kind of small psa, prices have plummeted on stub hub for the Winter Classic. If you're close enough to make a last second move, tickets are in the $20s.

to banish this hangover and start the new year the right way than an hour drive on a snowy highway to watch an outdoor hockey game and freezer-glue my ass to my jeans and bleachers.

Here's the link to Stubhub's page, if anyone would like to peruse (I am) - LINK

It looks like a majority of the cheaper tickets are in end zone and corner sections. Sideline seats are still going from $70-$90 or so for the most part. In any case, a sudden afternoon change in plans is tempting.

Considering it is 13 degrees at the moment with snow forecast throughout the afternoon, it should be fun for those hardy enough to sit in the Big House for several hours.

I'd bet traffic is going to be interesting....most of us who attend football games do it with enough frequency and/or went to school at Michigan to know the roads.  Most folks there today probably are not terribly familiar with A2.

Does anyone know if Main Street by the Stadium is closed during the game?

To $18 right now. I'm still contemplating going but it's too cold for my three year old and wife has a sinus infection. Do I freeze out there by myself?

That indoor club seats were available on stubhub this week for $150ish. Would have been great for this game.

A windchill around 0 makes me very happy that I passed on tickets for this game. It would be neat to see live, but I'll be happy on the couch

pricing.

So, what did they decide about alcohol sales at this game?  A nice cold beer sounds... well, people can do what I do for cold weather football games and bring a bit of Baileys/cognac/Kahlua/Creme de Cacao (your choice) to go with a large coffee...

Having been to the Original Big Chill, and also having been to the first outdoor game at MSU, it's not so much just cold weather, which you can dress for, but the snow, which can get you wet if you're not careful (again, it is all about the gear) and can really screw up the rink surface if the snowfall rate is fast enough.

(They were SO LUCKY with the first Big Chill.  It was unseasonably warm, and the next day was a crippling blizzard.  They might not be so lucky today.)
