Who you got in the championship?

I'm on the Texas Tech bandwagon.  Hate Virginia, and TT dispatched the two best teams in our state.  Love the underdog.

like both teams and their apparent cleanliness relative to the slime of college hoops.  that said, i'm going to be pulling at least slightly for t-tech.

Go Texas Tech.  Hope Owens (Rubber Band Man?) is ok.  Looked like a bad injury but when he walked off the floor but had a feeling he would try to come back.  Like both Coaches though and think they are good leaders and good for the game.

Why do you hate Virginia? Their coach has class and they dont engage in the 5 star AAU feeder stench.  They play a very similar style to Michigan as well

"Pin downs" is very smart basketball for Virginia against a team like TT and they have the horses to do it. This makes the defensive help travel too far-and gives the shooters better looks. If I were Virginia I would sure look at a power 1-2-2 offensive set that would compromise the ability of TT to double and even triple team. That being said, I do not know who I am "for"...I have huge VA fan family members but I deeply admire TT's defensive scheme and effort.

I agree.  I think Virginia will have success against the Texas Tech D if they use pin downs.  You need to make your open perimeter shots against Tech.  Guy and Jerome can hit those all day if Tech swarms.  A power 1-2-2 will strain Tech's D.

Both Michigan and MSU got open looks from 3 and simply missed too many of them (in our case all of them that mattered).  I am doubtful with shooters like Jerome and Guy that Virginia will meet the same fate.

Two clean programs with coaches who have turned programs from nothing into something. I like what Bennett has done and I think he has earned his due. Just hope for a good game, and either team will be incredibly deserving

While Charles Barkley melting down like a toddler after the auburn loss is entirely predictable, it is unforgivingly unprofessional to expend all of his energy insulting everything that is not Auburn.  His take on the Michigan State, Texas Tech game was such ridiculous sour grapes that it makes me wonder if he doesn’t actually have a degree from MSU.

Izzo never misses a chance to throw his players publicly under the bus.

He’s such a douchebag.

My two seniors sucked tonight but they gave us great moments.

Ought to be a great game Monday. Like both teams and coaches

Goins and McQuaid played far above their talent level and were amazing 4 year players for him. They also single-handedly knocked down his nemesis Duke to deliver them to the final four. They had no business winning that game without both of those guys making low percentage shots that they would miss 90% of the time. But yeah, take shots at your seniors in their final game. Typical...

I have grown in respect for Izzo as a coach--I used to think he just had his players wear football pads and hurl themselves at the offensive glass, but now I actually think he's a good practice and game coach.

BUT. This fucking guy cannot just give credit to another team or player without making it a backhanded compliment. Every time another player does well he points out how "that's not really what he usually does." In the BTN post-game interview he said that about Mooney. Come on, man. Mooney is a great college player and had a great game. Just tip your hat to him and move on.

I honestly have no clue. This is a toss-up if I’ve ever seen one, and I don’t care who as long as it’s a good game.

But gun to my head, I say Texas Tech. UVa has gotten here on some pretty dumb luck. Tech has earned its way here through and through. And that defense.....UVa has a great defense, but Tech is on another level.

And putting a huge dent in the ACC’s reputation would be just swell.

Yup.  Texas Tech beat Michigan by 19, Gonzaga by 7, and Michigan State by 10.

Virginia beat Purdue in OT in a game in which they were dead to rights.

Virginia beat Auburn by 1 in a game in which they were dead to rights.

Texas Tech has looked much better, and against top notch competition.  Virginia looks like Duke who was lucky to escape against UCF and Virginia Tech.

If you define the final four to include the championship game, then Izzo is 3-7, but with the most recent win coming in 2009.

Of course this was a Top 4 year for MSU, but I think that gives them more of a recruiting bump than a recruiting boom.  And has Izzo put any Duncan Robinsons into the league?

So many numbers. I knew I seen the 3-7 some place. But yes, he is definitely 2-6 in just final fours. Don’t forget all the early weekend exits as well. Mr March my ass.

and Izzo has put players in the NBA, but has had more players in jail, suspended, probation etc...

I work at the prison and had to pat down appling coming in to visit a family member years ago...he followed the wrong path.
