Who had the closest Guess-The-Score prediction for Michigan's National Championship? Anybody with a perfect 34-13 bullseye?

Have been wondering and digging through to see if anyone nailed the 34-13 final score.

I was a little off (41 - 17, Michigan)- receipts for my guess here and also here.

  • I expected 5 TDs and 2 FGs from Michigan
  • I expected 2 TDs and 1 FG from Washington

Let's see all those predictions!

I overestimated how many points Washington would score - my deepest and humblest apologies to Michigan's defense.

My buddy who was at the game on corporate tix asked me for my prediction, and I told him:

M 34-24

Hail to the Victors!

I had 30-20 and in the 4th Qtr I told the wife Michigan was going to kick a field goal and give up a TD... in which case I would have nailed the final score.

But.... Mikey took his pick down to the 5 and Blake put the cherry on top!

I'm very happy that i was wrong.

Washington's Heisman-caliber QB, offensive mastermind coach, and NFL receivers put up the same amount of points on us that Purdue did. As we all expected.

I’m more than happy to take credit for possibly the worst prediction, other than the few who picked Udub to win.

42-34.

I picked such a high output for UM because I really thought they could mount a relentless series of TD drives against that middling defense.

I picked a higher output for Udub because I felt like they were on a stratum well above OSU and Bama.

i had 34 right IN THE RELEVANT THREAD...  i had Washington with 24.  We won and it did not matter to me as much as all three phases playing great football.  Let's do it again SOOOOON.

From browsing this thread, it seems like everyone underestimated the extent to which our defense would throw Penix off his game.

My 35-28 prediction almost nailed the offensive side, but I also didn't give the defense nearly enough credit.

Last night was the type of performance by our defense that the more you think about it, the more you realize how impressive it truly was. That defense made one of the nation's top quarterbacks seem downright mediocre.

I didn't post a score on here. I thought it would be like Georgia over TCU last year, and felt smart after the second Edwards TD, but it was more like Georgia over Michigan in 2021.

I correctly picked Michigan’s score of 34.
However, I was just slightly off on Washington’s score—I predicted 36.

Why dont I believe my own damn analysis <15 pts was staring me dead in the face but I couldnt believe it because "ThEy tHroW a PrEtty fOrwarD paSs".

"We have been every teams least or second least points scored on their schedule. If we broke the mold and were Washington 4th least points that is 27.

3rd - 24 pts

2nd - 22 pts       <-----  Michigan's usual territory

1st - 15 pts        <-----  Michigan's usual territory

I wont guess the score because the world will work to prove me wrong."

My prediction is nowhere online to verify but I though Michigan would have to score at least 35-40 points as I was certain W would put 30 something up.

So 35-30 would have been my thought.  FWIW.  Not much, I know.
