Normally they open the gates around 1 but this year they started signing at 1 but opened the gates at 11.  From what I heard it was somewhat of a mess with a lot more people then are usually there.  I usually have people go since I am out of state and they get tons of autographs, this year they got pictures as they started kicking people out of lines.  This is a good thing in my opinion though because it means there is still demand for our team.  I know the longest line the last few years was for Rich Rod which is also nice to see.

I'm no good at estimating crowd sizes, but there were tons of fans, huge lines everywhere, but everybody seemed to be having a good time. Lots of kids down on the field chasing footballs, people taking pix... too bad the weather wasn't sunny, but still a nice day. The players seemed to be enjoying all the attention.

I got the special ticket package through the Alumni Association that gives you different seats for each game, and I checked out all of mine. I've got some pretty sweet seats, and no bad ones in the bunch.

I brought my 5 month old, we waited in line to see the RBs for 1.5 hours. They all signed my daughters Michigan shoes; which got a few laughs.

We walked in after 12 noon and went straight in to the stadium (East side). I thought, man, there is no one here yet.  Weird.  Then we walked around and saw the autograph lines at the south and west and I laughed at my idiocy.

My spouse took the kids down to the field to run around like maniacs while I got in line.

We could only get through two lines--by the time we got through the wide receivers, they were closing off all of the other lines we passed.  But on our way out, the RichRod line wasn't long at all, so we got his signature and a photo too.

I thought there would be more to do, more stuff for fans, but we had a great time regardless.  Players were super nice.  I was really glad I had printed out a roster so I could identify the ones I didn't know.   Jerald Robinson and DJ Williamson were sitting next to each other, and I told them "We sure do love it when you Ohio boys come play for Michigan" and DJ burst out laughing.

Some of those WR have some sweet tattoos.

Lots of families.  Lots of varied stuff getting signed.  I saw a guy have RichRod sign the back of his daughter's shirt while she was napping on his shoulder.  That was kinda funny.

It was my first time in the Big House. It was awesome, the lines were long but it was worth it. Got to watch them take the team picture, and later walk around the field.  As for the players, M-Rob and Death Roh looks like beasts., I got Tate's, the TEs, and all the LBs including Death Roh's autographs in The Wolverine team preview mag. Davion Rogers got a kickout of the fact I knew who he was (thanks to this site by the way).  Jordan Paskorz was with the LBs but was under the D-line in the team preview mag, He is real cool.  On the way out we were able to catch up to Jeremy Jackson and Roy Roundtree on their way to the team buses, they signed our stuff no problem..good guys.  That is all we had time for,  I really wanted the D-Line and the rest of the WRs but its all good.  I also picked up a "Worst State Ever" shirt and various other gear.  Can't wait to back at the Big House on Sept. 4th!

I posted this in the Brock Mealer thread, but thought it belonged here as well.

I was letting my 3 and 5 yr old run around on the field, and I was standing near the tunnel.  I noticed a young man in a wheel chair nearby, wearing a coaches polo, and had UM stickers on his wheel chair.  I took a chance and approached him, asking if he is Brock.  He said he was, and I told him how inspirational his reocvery has been, how many people are pulling for him and we're all excited to see him walk out the tunnel on the 4th.  We had a little more idle chit chat, and I ribbed him about going to OSU.  All in all, it was about a 2-3 minute conversation, but I could tell he is an exceptional person, and seemed to be quite upbeat.

Just wanted to relay this little tidbit, and let everyone know how excited I was to meet him.
