Which Michigan football player are you most excited to see?

Submitted by trueblue262 on

We're approaching another season of Michigan football! Some new players will see the field for the 1st time. There are a lot that I'm interested to see contribute, but one that I am anticipating is Drake Harris. I really think this kid is going to do special things in Ann Arbor. Anybody else excited to see someone in particular?

Offense: the entire offensive line.

Defense: Jourdan Lewis. It's been all Peppers this summer, but I think Lewis is going to have a great season.

Agree about Lewis. I'd bet that teams will stop testing him deep by mid-season, and his interceptions will come from a few panicballs. I'd also bet that Lyons (assuming he's the other corner) will be tested early and often, and thus will have higher tackle and INT numbers.

Kalis. Known for a mean streak and being a monster in high school, I think he will have a great year with one of the best OL coaches in the country.

Drake Harris on offense, Taco on defense, Peppers on all sides of the ball, and my real hope is Stribling really makes a name for himself this year. Thought he showed promise year 1, and now he's a upperclassman.

James Joseph H. still wears cleats and moves the ball. He might even tackle an opposing player but I sure hope not.

Otherwise it's the tight ends, running backs, The Drakes, and Morris I'm most anticipating progress from. And if they do progress and remain healthy, it will excite me.

Peppers is a demigod, not merely a player, so he's in a different category but obviously ...

A guy not mentioned yet is Willie Henry. He had a phenomenal game vs OSU. I think he is the type of guy that Harbaugh might unlock and open up a monster. Dude obviously has a ton of talent.

have used the phrase, "played a lot of football," when referring to various players. This is the foundation this program lost and Hoke began to rebuild. And it's also the foundation on which stars emerge. I am really looking forward to the running game and the linebacker unit.

Picked a heck of a tickled Peppers;
A heck of a tickled Peppers Peter Piper picked;
If Peter Piper picked a heck of a tickled Peppers,
Where's the heck of a tickled Peppers Peter Piper picked?

I'll step away from the keyboard now ...

Jaron Dukes is really skinny. So much so that I wonder how he can be in the program this long and still be that skinny - is he not working out, is he not eating enough despite the training staff recommending (I'm assuming) huge calories, something else? I guess some guys just are able to put on weight. why am I mentioning Dukes? Because Harris is skinnier than he is. Unless he has a ton of hidden strength in that lanky frame, I'd temper expectations for at least another year.

Why do so many people think you have to be 6'4, 225 pounds to run a route, use your hands to catch a football, and run after the catch in college football? Drake Harris is the same size as La'Damian Washington was in college and he had like 60 catches for 700 yards in his final season (in the SEC). If Drake is 6'4, 180, healthy and can run and catch, he is instantly an upgrade over what we have.

After watching all the game highlights from last year, Im most excited about Drake Johnson. Sounds like Wheatly has been teaching him to cut lower to the ground tokeep his knees healthy and curl up in a ball to absorb hits. If he can stay healthy he could be a big contributor.

Other than the whole team...now that they are finally getting proper coaching...

Ty Isaac.  Just want to see if he can be the beast that everyone thought he would be coming out of HS.  He is the big unknown...
