Where are they now?
This recruiting season has been very frustrating! Year after year I get more interested in recruiting but this year has really been a roller coaster. It seems like everytime we land someone and I get all excited the next day someone drops out. I would like to suggest we do a "Where are they now?" section for the guys who decommited/transfered. In 3 years if Bryce McNeal breaks all of Clemson's receiving records and is inline to be a top 5 draft pick I will be pissed. On the flip side, if in 3 years Beaver has yet to take a snap for Tulsa then my feelings won't be quite as hurt. Anyways, just an idea...also, anyone decommits from the past would work for this as well.

Whatever happened to the two recruits that visited during the Oregon game in 2007? The ones quoted in the Ann Arbor News as "I want to go to Oregon" after the game, with Lloyd losing it on their high school coach the next day...
For whatever reason, I've always been curious where they ended up and what impact they had, if any...

the rule of the universe is that just because one kid makes it somewhere doesn't mean he would make it at Michigan or somewhere else. so many variable determine how a kid turns out. And placing so much on one kid is really idiotic. I know. I use to do so and learned that it's really foolish to do so. Football is a TEAM sport. With one exception, the QB, one person does not make or break a team. And if you a team has to rely on one guy, that team is in big trouble.

I totally agree with you and that is not why I created the post. I am realistic enough to know that just because we were after Tim Tebow doesn't mean if he came here we would be playing tonight. I just think it would be interesting in 4 years to see how those guys turned out thats all. For example, Jai Eugene has had a pretty decent career at LSU, so losing him probably hurt us a bit. That doesn't mean I think we would have been playing in the NC game last year if we would have stayed with UM.

I'm blanking. I think one of them was Edwin Baker's teammate, who didn't get any major offers. JoeVall Hoseay?

It was definitely Hoseay and Baker. Probably a handful of Oak Park kids. Antoine Mason, too, maybe.
