What did Taylor Lewan do?
First off this was one of the most frustrating games I've ever watched in my 24 "cotten picking years." We had every chance to put this game away and for whatever reason we stalled. However- we got a Big ten win on the road with a defense that we should not expect much from. I knew it would come down to how the coaches managed the shootout. Props to RichRod for keeping the Team together in an otherwise demoralizing performance from our D and at times an offense that didn't take advantage of what they were given. Hell we could have scored 60 on these guys. I'm also happy that after Lewan made a freshman* mistake richrod ran out to take control of the situation. I'm curious to know what happened? Any clue?

And I do think it was Broekhuizen. Maybe the best, most critical kickoff of the year. As bad as the defense was, we showed some improvement in our kicking game.
The ESPNU broadcast was indescribably bad.

I am wondering if the crew was instructed to no longer show replays of penalties on their telecasts. The officiating is so bad this year that I can see the NCAA putting pressure on those who cover the games to not show just how bad it is.

On the 2nd or 3rd play of our last drive, Lewan is getting up off the ground and throws an ever so subtle little kick to the Indiana player's (I think #44) leg. On both the next plays, Lewan does some MAJOR holding on the same guy, which I'm suprised were not called. He pulled the guys jersey off his pads on one of them. That resulted in the guy whipping Lewan into Robinson, and I'm assuming that was what instigated the penalties after the TD.

I'll assume you are full of it and are lying.
This is why the negbomb should be encouraged.

And I'm not blaming Lewan for anything. I love having that kind of piss and vinager on the O-Line! All I was trying to point out was that the Indiana dude probably took a cheap shot at Lewan after the TD because he was getting his butt whooped on that last drive (and probably the whole game...)

After watching the highlights, it looks like the guy Lewan pancaked tried to trip him while he was walking back to the huddle. I'm sure there is more to it, but I would also be pissed in this situation.

as Indiana held the whole game I guess we'll call it even

I saw the same things. I believe this.

I love the passion and being a former athlete and coach myself...I love the rage. Take a little pride in destroying people and get some swagger back. Maybe it will spread to the D. Which by the way, at some point our crew of DBs have to step up and say enough is enough and beg and plead for GERG to let them go Man/Press and prove that they belong on the corners and understand that they have help over top. Gotta quit treating these kids like kids and demand that they mature...Now!

Lewan was jawing with that Indiana player that entire last drive. The play before the long pass to Junior I was hoping he didn't get a personal foul for his behavior. I like the passion, but timing man, timing.

RT @nicoleauerbach: Lewan on his final-minute penalty: Denard scored, I was trying to get over to him. I was stepping over the guy, and he grabbed my foot.
RT @nicoleauerbach: Lewan: (Refs) said I was trying to step on him.

As much as I like Lewan, he better hope there is video that exonerates him, cause if there isn't i wouldn't be surprised if they sat him against MSU (even if only for a half).

dong(key) stomp?

that he is trying to gingerly step over him or tripped. They just won the fucking game and dude layed a key block. I bet he was excited.

I would have liked to see the replay, but after last year and the rash of big ten review suspensions, I'd rather that there was nothing for the big ten to use to suspend Lewan for the MSU game.

up this week. Given the rage of RR and the referee what Lewan did was wrong. Darius Johnson was the key to getting it done for Indiana - most of the time they didn't. Lewan needs to live up to the aspirations of his number. Long never lost his head like that -after the play IIRC.

I was at the game but was not watching the field after that final TD (too busy yelling, high fiving, etc.). Suddenly there was a scuffle and an IU player was totally pissed with other IU players holding him back. U/M players were holding Lewan back too. At this point Lewan and the IU player had been separated by 20-30 yards.
Lewan messed up big time. As others posted above, Lewan has admitted to being on the edge between aggressive and over-the-line. That is his personality.
Note this was not off setting penalties. Definitely Lewan's fault.
And, Lewan was escorted off the field by the M coaches while the rest of the team was celebrating and shaking hands with the IU players.
Doubt that he will start next week (but will play).

Someone grabbed his leg and ref's said that he tried to stomp on them. Sounds like a standard case of he said-stache said.
