What are the odds Justin Rogers signs with Kentucky?
We knew he was just setting his price, but this is earlier than I expected.
everything looks to be on the up and up here.
<“I think he did take one (Alabama visit), but of course he didn’t tell me because I still believe commitment means commitment,” said Carter of Rogers.>
gawd. How can you be a high school football coach and still be that naive?
sound like the HC is getting nervous he might have to pay back the $$ UK gave him to ensure Rogers signs with them
That plaid sports coat Jones is wearing just oozes a used-car salesman vibe.
The guy he is with looks like his favorite things in life are banging hookers and handing recruits bags of cash
Yeah, Rogers's is a weird recruitment. He's a good football player, but he's just one of those guys that you feel like you might want to stay away from...
The Carr kid has a similar vibe. The money thing was kind of a red flag.
He's been refreshingly honest, I think:
"Everything is about business"
Going to Alabama is a good business decision for someone who thinks they have a good shot at the NFL. Get paid now, win a bunch of games, don't need to play school, and probably end up getting a shot at the NFL given Alabama's track record of development.
He's pretty clearly not the sort of kid that Harbaugh is going to cry over.
Yeah, it's weird - he's very honest about the fact he wants to maximize his earning potential everywhere he goes, and I don't blame him one bit. But he's not going to fit at UM most likely, and so I'm happy for him but also happy that UM seems to have stayed away because that feels like a precursor to some NCAA investigations in 3 years.
40%ish?
I'm slamming the "UNDER" button.
I'll say 15%.
‘Bout the same as me getting laid tonight.
Unlike you, Kentucky is going to get fucked
This blog needs a laugh track. I blame HUEL.
Laugh tracks suck. No canned laughter!!! The Blog can have a live audience, or we use our own inside voice.
Once again, the truth is painful.
I don’t know why but he has a very Tennessee vibe about him.
Well he is standing with Tennessee's old HC.
"On Saturday, Rogers posted a picture on Twitter standing next to Alabama assistant Butch Jones. Rogers is wearing an Alabama jersey and has his arm around Jones. Jones recruited Rogers while he was head coach at Tennessee (2013-17) when former Oak Park running back John Kelly played for the Volunteers."
Don't care, stay away.
Not sure, but wherever he ends up I bet he is in the transfer portal within 3 years.
I'm pretty sure he's the guy who said he wants to go somewhere and play day 1 so he can get to the NFL as fast as possible and make money.
So if he doesn't start day 1... Then what?
Plenty of examples at Alabama where a guy doesn't even see the field until his junior year then plays one season and goes first round.
Playing day 1 is less important than playing lights out in your draft year, to me anyway
He gone. Bama can always pony up more goods when the feel they need to. Outbidding, er, out-crootin' Kentucky for a top football player shouldn't be a tough pull for them... Big Blue is not a football skool...
Hmm...
Three-year starter at Kentucky, early round draft pick...
OR
Redshirt at Bama, ride pine for two more years, enter transfer portal, underwhelm at G5 school go undrafted, do a year on a practice squad, be back at home on Oak Park couch by 25...
Decisions, decisions!
Your scenario descriptions made me laugh and then cry
You're acting like logic and sense have anything to do with where 90% of bluechip prospects end up nowadays.
Long term this looks like a good one to miss on. Makes me want to wash hands every time his name comes up. Hard to pass up on a local "stud" but think this one might be worth it. Guarantee he changes his mind at least 2x before committing to GA or TN. Kid thinks he's ready for NFL.
Z E R O
From the video:
"You've got all of these schools looking at you. What is the biggest thing that plays into this recruiting process?"
Rogers: "Academics."
LOL
"Rogers: "Academics."
I gotta believe Rogers was trolling the person who asked the question.
Sorry for your loss Kentucky. I hope you enjoyed this while it lasted. He is gone.
Low. I feel like the general consensus when he committed to UK is that he wasn't gonna stick. He's already taking more visits and has tweeted things in the past that make you feel like this kid is looking for the fattest bag. If I had to guess, he's gonna end up at Tennessee. He just gives me that vibe
