We Play Four Quarters

A (hopefully) amusing story for you guys: I was at the Notre Dame game with several friends. We actually were "upgraded" to seats on about the 45 yard line thanks to one of my friend's father-in-law. Anyway, three rows in front of us is an obviously inebriated Irish fan with a buddy who had huge shades on and a Tennessee hat. These two were suspicious, loud and obnoxious characters. After we jumped out to a quick lead, he turns around with his bloodshot eyes, holds up four fingers and announces "We play four quarters . . . We play this many . . ." Saying this repeatedly wasn't enough though. With the index finger of his other hand, he touched each of the four fingers held up in succession. Over and over. As the Irish clawed their way back into the game and took the lead, we heard this. Over and over. People were getting so pissed he actually was visited by an usher at one point and told to shut the fuck up or he would be gone. He settled down a bit after that. We serenaded him out of the stadium with four fingers held up, shouting "We play four quarters too!" Fun times at the Big House. I have added "We play four quarters" at the bottom of my mogoblog thingy so I can remember this always.

my parents always had their tickets in section 9 (south end zone), top row. When they expanded the stadium a few years ago, they asked to move up to the new top row. We didn't realize that's where all the away fans were going to be getting sent. It sucks... every game is like an away game now. Anyhow, one year against Minnesota we had a drunk gopher fan two rows ahead of us whose catchphrase was "...and that's another GOLDEN GOPHER... FIRST DOWN!!". Every time. Every. Damn. Time. I guess when you're Minnesota, you celebrate the little things.

I'm pretty sure I was right by you for that game. My parents are MN alums, so I sat with them for that game. It's even worse in MN for their home games, because they do it over the PA for EVERY first down. (or at least they did at the Metrodome. Haven't talked to the parents after the opening game at TCF stadium to see if they still do)

Our newest Arrival......I wish I would have known about this shirt 4 days ago.......... I am headed to South Bend tomorrow morning to meet my brother (who lives in Chicago and is an MSU Alum) for the game.... I am a Michigan Alum and will be wearing my home Michigan jersey next to my brother, who will be draped in Green and White....I anticipate a few choice words directed our (maybe even especially my) way, and perhaps a few objects as well..........however I am a decent sized guy, so unless it's Zbikowski chucking the projectiles, then I think I'll be able to hold my own. I would love to wear that shirt in South Bend at that game. It would be a complete slap in the face and a perfect response to any anti Michigan ribbing. Does anyone know if MGoStore does Rapid delivery? Say, like in three hours??
