Wait a few minutes....another Gator will be suspended

Submitted by James Burrill Angell on
No joke.....Florida RB Jordan Scarlett cited for marijuana possession, suspended for Citrus Bowl. Can't make this up. Third Gator suspended this afternoon/evening. Source is Thomas Goldkamp (24/7 reporter) Twitter account.

I have no doubt these suspensions are justified. I'm just sad that they won't be at full strength for the bowl game. Damn it we're Michigan, or at least the team and Harbaugh is. I want our guys to play the very best the opponent has to offer.

No excuses. When Michigan beats them, I want to have beaten their best. Nothing less.

Go Blue! Crush them!!!

Are you telling me you were ok with losing to Ohio State because the opposing team had all their players healthy and ready to play? We should just postpone the game and wait until everyone on UF's team is over their suspensions and completely healthy.

If it helps us win and it's not illegal/against the rules, I'm fine with the circumstance that results in a Michigan win.

upon further thought, will he be facing a 1 year suspension like Michigan mcGary? I believe the critical thing for McGary was that his test occurred during the post season tournament which made punishment more severe and mandatory. are there similar rules for bowl season which is footballs equivalent of the tourney?

No. To add insult to injury the NCAA changed the one year rule after Mitch was suspended but before he served it, but he was still required to face the full year. And correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the bowls or CFP (and previously the BCS, Bowl Alliance etc.) are NCAA sanctioned so such rules treat the current period like the offseason.

What's the total number of suspended players up to now? I wonder if it's greater than or less than the number that's declaring early for the draft.

...the dirtiest program in the state for about 10-15 years now. They are a tire fire. Since they are in bed with ESPN via the SEC contract....they're spared the title of filth. Instead ESPN digs and plants affiliates in Tallahassee to make up stories and run with accusations. Florida is going to feature a 2 deep of freshman tackles. Michigan should dominate their line.

Sounds like a FSU grad. I disagree with the FSU view that UF is the "dirtiest program in the state". Agree it has been a tire fire for several years. Like Michigan, it stems largely from quarterback play. It solved its kicking issue and will be bringing in some excellent recruits. 2017 should be a great game in a year both teams should excel.

Taylor has some burst and I hate him on our LBs...because he will burn them....but with UF's line issues...we shouldn't see too many runs reach the second level. On offense, keep the ball out of Deveon's hands and run screens. Butt should be a play action savior. UF has an elite pass rush and terrific team speed. They will likely put Hargreaves on Chesson and make Darboh beat Tabor one on one. They don't think that's physically possible. We need to really take advantage of one of the worst offenses in college ball....we should score on defense and not give up north of 17 points. Florida also has absolute awful kickers. They're high school bad.

I just hope our offense can move the ball and not turn it over.  I want to see a win so we can enjoy the next 9 months until the next game!
